I love to cook, especially Italian, this place is great! So many delicious options! I always buy a ton here! I can't add more than what's already said other than to reiterate how true the great reviews are. Check it out!

Olive oil from here was tasty and reasonably priced. Tried fig (surprisingly sweet) and Sorento lemon (good with fresh tomatoes).

I'm back in town again, and our team chose this spot for a dinner with 14 people. One thing I…read morereally appreciate is that they have a separate seating area for larger groups, which made the evening much more comfortable and enjoyable. We started with several appetizers, including the burrata, arancini, meatballs, and calamari. Everything was delicious, and the complimentary bread with the spread was a great addition to the table. For my salad, I ordered the Parma salad. It was fresh, flavorful, and generously sized. For my entrée, I had the spaghetti with clams. The flavor was very good, but I was disappointed by the size of the clams--they were extremely small. I would have preferred a shrimp pasta option if quality clams weren't available. That said, the overall experience was excellent. The food was consistently good, the service handled our large group well, and this is definitely a great choice for group dinners and team gatherings.

The warm Italian decor is welcoming and comfortable to connect over cocktails, a glass of wine or our favorite after dinner drink, an espresso. For an appetizer I recommend the arancini, fried calamari and buffalo caprese. I really enjoy their caesar salad with anchovies. And their pasta is delicious. The pappardelle bolognese and the fettucini con funghi are favorites and most recently tried the braised short rib lasagne, which I absolutely would order again. Salute!!!

And I'm sorry, but the cheese shower on everything?! Truffle fries? MAKE IT RAIN. Vodka penne? MAKE IT POUR. I don't know what kind of positivity they're putting on these plates, but I would like more of it in my life. It's moody, cozy, a little sexy without trying too hard, and somehow works no matter what season or occasion you're in. This is the kind of Pittsburgh restaurant where you go for dinner and suddenly you're sitting there way longer than planned because the food, drinks and atmosphere have you completely settled in. Basically, if you like carbs, cheese, good drinks and a restaurant that knows how to set a mood...Emerson's needs to be on your Pittsburgh list. #PittsburghFood #PittsburghRestaurants #PittsburghEats #PittsburghFoodie #DowntownPittsburgh

There was a dinner party at the time and laughter rang throughout the place, it was awesome. My boyfriend got the pork chop and talked about it for an entire year, so we went back for his birthday. This time, I got the salmon, which was grilled perfectly and really paired well with the risotto. The drink, dare I say a new favorite, it almost tasted like a pickle! I loved it! Our server on both occasions was very helpful and down to earth and made the experience great. The food also came out quickly, and my boyfriend received a birthday dessert. 10/10, no notes!

The menu lists many meat, seafood, and vegetarian options, and the chefs can accommodate customers on gluten-free and vegan diets. Examples of menu items are lentil soup, babaghanoush, falafel, shepherd salad, lamb chops, many kebabs, sea bass, sautés, house-made desserts such as baklava, and non-alcoholic beverages. My husband and I ate one lunch here. Indoor and covered outdoor seating was available. The employees promptly greeted and seated us, and I appreciated that they recommended specific menu items to help me choose. After a reasonable wait, the foods were brought to our table. Here are my ratings for what we ordered: Grilled Shrimp - 5 stars - Several large, juicy shrimp were on skewers and had been perfectly cooked. Sides were mixed vegetables and a mix of rice and bulgur. Chicken Shish Kebab - 4 stars - The chunks of chicken were large and juicy and had a mild seasoning. On the side was rice pilav. Turkish Tea - 4.5 stars - This black tea was a good size and was served hot. Packets of sweeteners were available. The total price was $55 plus tax and tip.

I started with a half order of their Greek salad. The salad came out looking pretty good and even though it was very lightly dressed, it tasted vibrant and bright from the cheese and olives on it. I wanted to get some more dressing, but the server didn't come back to ask how things were and she just kept walking by, not even looking for me to wave down. Overall, the salad was decent, but it did need a little more dressing. The kabob came up next and it looked ok. The kabob itself was more on the bland side... I didn't taste herbs and spices at all, more like just grilled meat. The bulgar was excellent and offered lots of flavor, so I tried to eat some with each fork of kabob I bit into. This dish came with a pretty large salad too, which was slightly depressing looking, with some wilted lettuce in it. I also tried their Turkish Tea to start and really liked that. Overall, the service was friendly, just not attentive at all. The venue looks welcoming and warm. Menu has many great options, I feel like I just tried the wrong thing.

During my visit with a few companions, our main issue was the wait time: a collection of reheated falafel balls, premade salad, and hummus -- all of it uninspired -- took about 20 mins. to arrive. Moreover, the service was downright lazy. Not only do you have to order from an electronic, self-serve kiosk; and not only will the servers (if there are any) not bring your food to your table; but you even have to maneuver BEHIND THE SERVICE COUNTER to get a drink, should you choose to buy one, from the refrigerator! They cannot even be bothered to hand a pop to you! It all raises the question: what are the employees here being paid to do, exactly? Let me tell you: they are certainly not brainstorming ways to improve this business!

Overall, food is generally pretty tasty. But the last two times I ordered, meat and rice were both dried out and I was missing something with both orders. Staff wasn't very apologetic for the errors, either. I'm still happy downtown has this place, but I wish quality and service were more consistent.
