I went in to get some lunch to go, it was the first time I had been here, and probably the last. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken. The chicken was pretty tough and chewy and the noodles really had no flavor whatsoever. There was no peanuts sprinkled on top which I guess most pad Thai does. This is the first time I hadn't had nuts on it. But there was really nothing flavorful about it at all even the chicken had no flavor just very bland.. There was only three other people in there when I came in and the lady seemed kind of out of put out when I said, I wanted to order to go. Based on the great reviews, we decided to have lunch here yesterday. It was a late lunch we were able to squeak in before 3 o'clock to order the lunch special, which is a great deal for 1195. Lunch special consists of soup of the day, a choice of different mains dishes, maybe 10 choices that come with an eggroll or fried or regular rice. They come in this place is a little funky, but they definitely try to keep it authentic. Who cares about ambience when the food is fantastic we both really enjoyed entrees I had cashew chicken and my husband had a pork dish with Thai basil, which was really delicious. The only downside was the service. Clearly, the woman who works here is not happy to be here or in her job. Really good Thai food for such a tiny town. For such a small place the food had big flavor. I got chicken pad Thai and a beef dish and loved both of them.

Second time eating here in a few months. Again, the food was fantastic! Calamari appetizer is our favorite. Small dining area in a small town. Thrilled that we stumbled in on our last road trip and thrilled they were open again. Restrooms could be updated, but we're clean. Staff is matter-of-fact, but never rude. read more

On the way back home we decided to stop and try this place. Been through alturas many times and usually it was black bear until it got shut down. This place caught our eye, I always think of sushi being questionable so far from the ocean but the tuna hand roll was delicious! Pho was delicious as well, not too greasy and just enough meat and noodle. My dad scarfed down the vegetable and chow mein entree before I could get a pic, but it too was also delicious. They make tasty food, if you ask for it spicy they'll actually bring it out spicy, and you can decide to go either Thai or Japanese if you're feeling more in a noodle mood or a sushi mood. So lot's of good stuff going on here. The servings were a bit inconsistent across the different dishes, if you're in a sharing mood there's probably no problem as there will be enough food to go around the table but for any particular dish it might be hit and miss. My review should be a 3.5 here. It really is good though and if you want Thai food it's not like you'll have another choice in town and The One Thai Oishi will definitely scratch that itch. read more

Drove through town hoping to find a healthier option to burgers or tacos. I saw this place and thought- how can you mess up vegetable pad see ew. Now I know.... you definitely can. I give the dish 2 stars it was full of oil - actually super greasy there was a puddle of oil in the bottom of the plate. I asked for extra veggies they gave me the standard veggies plus about 4 kale stalks- kale stalks are inedible. We have been there several times since its opening and the prices have gone up where the portion sizes and food quality have gone down. Server is pretty snippy and doesn't like making changes to meet requests. At our last visit the chicken dish I ordered tasted downright spoiled. This restaurant had decent reviews and options in a small isolated town limited. We went in, the menu was pretty expansive even without the Japanese portion. Tough choice, Leslie went with chicken curry and I a spicy chow mein, both on lunch specials. The soup validated our decision. Great meal, only complaint- 400 miles from home.
