This HAS to be THE BEST used bookstore I've EVER visited in my 53 years!!!!!!! Excellent selection…read moreof used books, DVDs, and CDs. Both my wife and I found quite a few deals here. I've even found a few treasures I DIDN'T even know existed. Whomever donated these REALLY did their homework, and MUST have been SERIOUSLY involved in the SAME hobbies and interests as long as I have (since the 1970s!!!!). On the 3rd Saturday during the months of February, June, and October, they have a store sidewalk sale here, with PRETTY GOOD deals. My wife and I ALWAYS look forward to returning here. Volunteer staff is VERY nice and welcoming. Cash or debit accepted. Northwest corner of Los Alamos @Whitewood. Hours: Mon-Tue-Thur 10-4 Wed-Fri-Sat 10-6 Sun Closed

I had to look it up online to see they actually sell books as it strongly resembles a library. There were a few older women behind the counter, not one offered any help or asked if we had any questions, that would be a nice thing to do especially if you're coming in with young children. We ended up with a few kids' chapter books for $3.50 so that was a pleasant surprise as I didn't realize the prices were marked on the inside pages. They had an issue with payment and accepting Venmo so I ended up using a credit card and were offered a sheet of stickers upon leaving. Great concept, except for the mother who was reading obnoxiously loud to her child inside the store, I feel like we should all be using indoor voices if we're trying to simulate a relaxing library environment. Other than that, if the employees/volunteers had offered any assistance throughout our visit, it would have been 4 stars.

Open Weekends, this is one of the best New Age Bookstores in N. County San Diego. It may be small…read morebut it's artfully stocked to the gills and run by happy Spiritualists who are there to offer a warm hug and great conversation. Everyone seems to be a medium here so they are delighted to talk with you about those things that go bump in the night, premonitions and apparitions and won't think you're crazy in the least. If you don't see what you're looking for, Celeste will order it for you too. It's run completely by volunteers and they are always so happy to see you and share their latest discoveries. There's such a wonderful variety of offerings that would include many items that you might usually find at a Metaphysical Bookstore, like gems and minerals, vibrational healing jewelry, incense and all kinds of Tarot Cars plus all Spiritually based books new and used. But then there are the more specialize tools for mediumship development classes. So you can find trumpets and slates and of course crystal balls too! There's also some wonderful inspired artwork that's really unique.

Anyway, we had planned a weekend trip to Carlsbad and searched for used bookstores in the area and Farenheit came up. So glad we stopped in and were able to walk out with a few books. Many vintage finds for all you collectors. Look closely and carefully as there are so many nooks and crannies in the shop where hidden gems can be found. You can find art books to cookbooks to history books. Please note that the shop's lease for this location is up soon. If you and anyone know of a space in Carlsbad Village, please contact the store owner Philip. He and this community deserve to have a bookstore. We are never too old or too young to learn. Grab a book and enjoy a good read! Lookout for the bargain books! And I loved the music played during our shopping experience, French jazz, which set the mood for our lunch in a local French cafe. Support this small business and stimulate the local economy and our brains!

This is a small shop but they've probably got something that will catch your interest. I bought a fat history book (no, not a book about the history of fatties, come on, now) for 1/3rd the normal price. And it is in perfect condition. I also appreciated the notes throughout the store encouraging the reading of banned books. Seems an appropriate message given the name of the bookshop. Plenty of free street parking in the area.

The staff/volunteers are so kind and genuinely friendly. Even before I went to the register I…read moreoverheard so many lovely interactions helping a kid find a book he might like, letting an older customer promise to bring back the change she was missing on a return visit, and just chatting nicely with each person as they were checking out. My interaction was no different. The selection will be varied as with any used bookstore, but they have quite a lot on offer for the small space they occupy and I ended up leaving with four books, myself. Plus it is a lot more guilt free ending up disliking a book you got for a buck fifty than a book you paid upwards of $16 for. It can also be a great source for those who want an inexpensive book that they won't mind using for an art project like book page origami or blackout poetry, since they have tons of mass produced paperbacks. The location they're in is also ideal since right next door there are amazing cupcakes, plus a coffee shop within the same mall. And the Santee Library is right there if you're local and have a library card. Super easy area to kill an hour or two in.

The book turnover rate is pretty good and we often come here every few weeks or so. Parking is cramped here and I think the ladies behind the desk are kinda cold/distant to customers who aren't regulars. The person in front of me had an engaging, friendly conversation with the cashier but when it was my turn the cashier did a complete 180 and seemed really unfriendly. Not sure why because I was buying 4 books and paid in cash. Oh, well, not my problem!
