Came here to the Bruno mars listening party and to go in for the raffle. We waited in the walk in line. They gave us a free poster and we waited to listen to Bruno's new album. At the end of the album they did a raffle for a free Bruno mars shirt. We didn't win, but it was an interesting event. The record store has a bunch of records and some record players. Got my kids into vinyl records so this was a fun place to visit. Conveniently located on Grand Ave with street parking. Walking in it was nice, clean and organized. We love how they have a small area where you can listen to your pickings. Variety of bins with different price points and also a choice of mystery grab bag. Located closer to the register you can find cassette tapes!!! And you can listen to them using a cassette player...this was fun to show my kids. I wandered into this record store on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. The vibe is super chill and welcoming the moment you walk in. The owners actually knows their stuff without making you feel intimidated--just genuine music lovers who are happy to help you dig for what you're looking for. The selection is surprisingly wide, from classics to harder-to-find gems, and everything is organized in a way that makes browsing easy. I ended up discovering a couple of albums I didn't even know I needed and by a couple I mean a lot that I have to buy my own record player! Nice little spot in center of town. Usually stop by if in area. Not the biggest selection but it's a treasure hunt of will i find a gem that brings you back. Even if you don't find something you discover a artist you never heard of and get fomo for not getting. Recently discovered this beautiful records store and I could not be happier! Vinyls seem to be making a come back and this takes me back to the old record stores back in the day. Nestled in the beautifully renovating Grande Avenue in downtown Escondido, Track City Records has been open for about six months at the time of this writing. I met the owners, Bel and Aubrey (sorry if I misspelled your names!) and they were VERY nice, welcoming, kind and just beautiful people. They took the time to answer all my questions and also offered their own insight about turn tables and records. Their records are neatly organized and they even sell some turn tables and Track City merch. The prices on records range from free to a few hundreds. The modern music seems to be on par with Target prices. From my experience the records are sorted alphabetically by genre. Check out their Prince record and T Swift section! They also have a cool listening area next to the window where you can listen to vinyl records while enjoying the view. I cannot say enough good things about this beauty. My first time visiting. I purchased a 4 album set, "Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons, 25th Anniversary Collection. I had thought the price I paid was on the high side but everything appeared to be in VERY good condition. Once I got it home I cleaned all the vinyl using a spin clean (not an expensive cleaner but very efficient) and vacuumed everything dry. My turntable has an Ortofon 2M Black stylus. I was blown away by how GREAT this collection sounded. No pops or clicks. Just clear detailed sound. It sounded like a new album set. Worth the money and then some. Great job on the quality of this product. Consider me a regular customer. I highly recommend Track City Records to ANYONE shopping for vinyl. Worth your time, and their selection continues to grow.
