    "2 x 2" Breakfast with Hash
    Laura D.

This is our go- to place for breakfast. It's 20 minutes away from home but it's the best breakfast for the price. The servers are super friendly and some have been there for years. They have seating in the front dining room, at the bar, and also in a small diner like dining room and bar in the back.

    Chicken penne pasta so good

This is place is amazing I come here for dinner and breakfast that are always fast and they never let you down.

Updating my review from last time as I have been coming more than a few times for breakfast. The service during breakfast is very good. Katina, the breakfast waitress is very competent, quick with taking orders, providing drinks, serving the food, and cleaning up the tables. She really does well taking care of all the front of the restaurant tables. Breakfast is served from opening to 2pm and I think breakfast here is great. I usually get the 4 x 6, which is 4 eggs and 6 pieces of breakfast meat with toast. The most recent time I got the 6 x 6, which is 6 eggs and I got 6 slices of crispy bacon with wheat toast. All this for $10 which I think is a great deal. Coffee is decent and does the job but is nothing to write home about. Overall, it is great place for breakfast and service is good in the morning. I will probably keep coming here for breakfast until I return back to Hawaii.

They have really good food, a great variety of food at this restaurant. The service is really good. The prices are quite affordable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a meal that is really good but not at a lot of money.

Ahi Tuna And. Aby Spinach Salad

Heberts has some of the best prepared and fresher seafood in the Seacoast. I had a sashimi tuna salad the other day over baby spinach with all sorts of wonderful fresh vegetables for 20 bucks alone wasworth twice what they charge

Randomly found this place as we were traveling to my sons baseball game in New Hampshire. Food was decent, prices were from 2001 so no argument there. Clean and waitress was friendly.

    Corned beef dinner

Hebert's restaurant never disappoints, awesome corned beef dinner. The stuffed mushrooms are also amazing.

Greater by a non- interested women who took my order. Not too friendly, but not mean. I ordered breakfast to go. It was tasty and quickly served. I would come back and would recommend if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. Nothing elegant. Just fast, good food.

Wonderful Pub, diner and restaurant in Portsmouth. I had a tasty turkey stew on a cold grey day. Friendly and quick service. A local gem.

We visited on Friday night and sat at a table as the bar seating was pretty packed. Crowd was pretty chill - a mixture of people in their 20's having drinks & apps, and then older couples/families enjoying dinner. We were happy to see Smithwicks on the draft menu, and we also got a Downeast cider with a caramel/cinnamon rim. We ordered the house made mozzarella sticks, which were ginormous, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and all around delicious. We all opted with different types of burgers - sliders, fried chicken, and a pub burger. All were served with fries and were perfectly cooked. The coating on my fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Service was awesome - our glasses were never left empty! Best of all, Dwyers has a free jukebox packed with favorites. Looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Portsmouth - we'll definitely be trying the deviled eggs, wings, and fried oreos!

Food: 2 Drinks: 5 Service: 1 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Food: I ordered the French dip sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich was awful. Bread seemed stale, the meat was chewy, and the dipping jus was tiny. The best part was the tater tots, that clearly came out of a frozen bag. Drinks: Outstanding beer selection. 119 different beers available! Service: Generally very slow. The place wasn't super full but I had to get the bartenders attention to get anything. I didn't get service a single time without having to flag someone down. Value: Beers were decent price, but $21 for that sandwich was egregious. Atmosphere: The bar area was huge with tons of TV options. There were also lots of tables and a really nice outdoor area.

It wasn't my preferred type of beer, but I found it tasty and refreshing. The next morning at breakfast at a restaurant in town, there were small signs on the table for their beers. So that afternoon, I went to Liar's Bench for lunch. I appreciate the messages the universe had sent me. Apart from a challenge getting parking at lunchtime, with several spots in the lot reserved for nearby Murray's Plumbing, there's much to like about Liar's Bench (and that's no lie). The beer selection is varied enough that I was able to get a very satisfying flight. My local friend had suggested I order whatever was the chef's special of the day (which today was a specialty burger), but we instead opted for the BBQ platter for 2, with a large amount of pulled pork, slaw, potato salad, and Texas toast. We sat at the bar and had great service and conversation. I can see why this is a popular lunch destination. Another bonus for me is that Liar's Bench is the closest brewery to a hotel at which I often stay when I'm in Portsmouth, making this a new destination for me when I'm in the area.

This quaint gastropub doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, this seems like a place where locals are regulars and tourists are happy to get a table at this "no reservations" joint. It's dark inside (no photos) and a little cramped. The bartenders are serving double duty mixing and pouring drinks while also playing DJ and spinning vinyl records. And it felt like everyone inside was exactly where they wanted to be at the moment...enjoying each other's company and sharing drinks and food. The menu is about the size you would expect from a small kitchen - a fair number of appetizer dishes meant for sharing, and a handful of entrees, ranging from casual to a bit more refined. The grilled cheese and tomato soup ($19) was made with a hearty artisan bread that hit the spot on a chilly evening. Similarly, the coq au vin ($26) was classic comfort food, with perfectly cooked smashed fingerling potatoes surrounded by a rich, decadent reduction sauce smothering meaty mushrooms and soft pearl onions. Note, the coq au vin did take a long time to prepare, so not the dish to order if you're in a hurry. A couple of not-too-sweet lemon ricotta donuts (with chocolate sauce) was a great way to end the meal.

Well, I'm happy that they were because dinner here was SOOOO good! The bartender helped us choose a bottle of champagne to start. We shared everything. One of each of the deviled eggs each. The maple cranberry was interesting. The sour cream chive one was to die for! The ricotta gnocchi was elegant and fluffy. The sauce made it over the top. The ribs were good, but I'm a Midwest girl. They just don't compare to back home. The clam linguine was seasoned perfectly. It was quite filling. We ended with the Apple Olive Oil cake with maple ice cream. The cake itself was quite dense and dry. The ice cream helped. I would not order this dessert again. Service was quite SLOWWWW, and for no reason as they weren't very busy while we were there. There were long gaps between courses and then once we were finished we kind of just sat there for a while. The food was worth it but something is not running efficiently and could be improved. Still giving 5 starts because it was so good and everyone was welcoming.
