    12/24/2023 Amy's drink!

I didn't realize how hungry I was on my last visit in here. I was meeting a friend for breakfast, but I was the only one who ate. I got a grilled bagel which was delicious along with an omelet with ham, onion, mushrooms & cheese which was very tasty too! Their breakfast potatoes were pretty good too. I actually cleared my plate which is something I don't do often. Our waitress was nice & very patient since it took me awhile to look over the menu before ordering. I was busy catching up with my friend who I hadn't seen since June. I do have to give them 5 stars for the food & the waitress on this visit along with our drinks. I'm giving them a 3 star because I was very disappointed in how many customers that they turned away on Christmas Eve. There was a sign when you walked in stating that they would only be open till 1pm that day & the first set of customers that they turned away walked in @ 12:30pm and then they turned away then about 3 more groups of people who walked in after that up till about 12:50pm. If your only open till 1pm then that means you seat until 1pm. Shame on the staff for turing those customers away & as far as I've known from working in the restaurant business in my past & being a customer at several restaurants the time you close is the time you stop seating/taking customers. I give 1 STAR for that BS. The service wasn't that great on my previous visit before this one. The waitress wasn't up to par. Food was good.

This is our go- to place for breakfast. It's 20 minutes away from home but it's the best breakfast for the price. The servers are super friendly and some have been there for years. They have seating in the front dining room, at the bar, and also in a small diner like dining room and bar in the back.

    Chicken penne pasta so good

Updating my review from last time as I have been coming more than a few times for breakfast. The service during breakfast is very good. Katina, the breakfast waitress is very competent, quick with taking orders, providing drinks, serving the food, and cleaning up the tables. She really does well taking care of all the front of the restaurant tables. Breakfast is served from opening to 2pm and I think breakfast here is great. I usually get the 4 x 6, which is 4 eggs and 6 pieces of breakfast meat with toast. The most recent time I got the 6 x 6, which is 6 eggs and I got 6 slices of crispy bacon with wheat toast. All this for $10 which I think is a great deal. Coffee is decent and does the job but is nothing to write home about. Overall, it is great place for breakfast and service is good in the morning. I will probably keep coming here for breakfast until I return back to Hawaii.

They have really good food, a great variety of food at this restaurant. The service is really good. The prices are quite affordable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a meal that is really good but not at a lot of money.

Ahi Tuna And. Aby Spinach Salad

Heberts has some of the best prepared and fresher seafood in the Seacoast. I had a sashimi tuna salad the other day over baby spinach with all sorts of wonderful fresh vegetables for 20 bucks alone wasworth twice what they charge

Randomly found this place as we were traveling to my sons baseball game in New Hampshire. Food was decent, prices were from 2001 so no argument there. Clean and waitress was friendly.

    Corned beef dinner

Hebert's restaurant never disappoints, awesome corned beef dinner. The stuffed mushrooms are also amazing.

Greater by a non- interested women who took my order. Not too friendly, but not mean. I ordered breakfast to go. It was tasty and quickly served. I would come back and would recommend if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. Nothing elegant. Just fast, good food.

Wonderful Pub, diner and restaurant in Portsmouth. I had a tasty turkey stew on a cold grey day. Friendly and quick service. A local gem.

Baby shrimp plate is very good and reasonably priced. Their breakfast menu is also very reasonable.

Not sure if they make it anymore?? This unfortunately isn't a bar I frequent when I'm home in Portsmouth visiting. Their new set-up is very small. I'm not sure how their food is anymore? I stopped in here on 12/26/2025 to grab a quick drink. I grabbed a seat @ the bar & don't have to wait long to order my drink. Male bartender was nice. He made me a yummy Stoli Blueberry vodka with soda water with lemon. He even gave me a lemon when most bartenders give me a lime when I ask for a lemon so that was nice, he listed & paid attention...thank you! I loved the glass it came in (see pic). I loved this cute winter snowman decoration in their kitchen window. They always had yummy Jell-O shots. I will have to come in here again for some food & see what they're serving these days. But I sure do miss their old set up.

I had the pleasure of meeting a very cute dog who was celebrating his 18th birthday at the bar along with his two furry friends and their owners. Loved that the people at the bar were friendly and conversational even though I was a newcomer. We ordered some $5 Happy Hour cocktails, which were really great as they are made with brand name alcohol such as Stoli, Deep Eddy and Tangueray rather than no name alcohols from the well. Food happy hour specials were great too - The Waygu Beef Hotdog was served on a buttered and grilled roll and hot the spot. The fried pickles were good as well, although next time I'll ask for them extra crispy. Great place with friendly customers and employees, excellent service, and good food. Looking forward to going back!

We sat at the bar and were handed menu's and our drink order taken. The bartender was friendly and pleasant. She clearly knew the other occupants of the bar as they discussed their families, co-workers and local news. She wasn't quite as verbose with us, but why would she? We had more than enough time to make our selections, and even though we weren't in a hurry, it did feel like a long time. Still, the longer we stay, the more we drink. Right? So that works for tips. ;D She did eventually come over to take our food order between chatting, refilling drinks, welcoming more locals and taking care of bar set-up duties. So she was busy. This is a bar more than a restaurant, and the food was good. There seems to be one person on the bar and one in the kitchen. At least at lunch time. Our food came out at the same time, was warm and well prepared. The bartender put things we may need on the bar top near us: ketchup, forks, etc. and left us to it. She did check on refills during our visit. There is a small restroom opposite the bar that was clean. The ambiance here is neighborhood bar where you come to drink and spend time with your neighbors. Friendly. Not really a 'family' atmosphere. Especially with some of the language. Just FYI. It's a fair sized space and I suspect would be busy on a weekend evening. Definitely a lively spot.

Well, I'm happy that they were because dinner here was SOOOO good! The bartender helped us choose a bottle of champagne to start. We shared everything. One of each of the deviled eggs each. The maple cranberry was interesting. The sour cream chive one was to die for! The ricotta gnocchi was elegant and fluffy. The sauce made it over the top. The ribs were good, but I'm a Midwest girl. They just don't compare to back home. The clam linguine was seasoned perfectly. It was quite filling. We ended with the Apple Olive Oil cake with maple ice cream. The cake itself was quite dense and dry. The ice cream helped. I would not order this dessert again. Service was quite SLOWWWW, and for no reason as they weren't very busy while we were there. There were long gaps between courses and then once we were finished we kind of just sat there for a while. The food was worth it but something is not running efficiently and could be improved. Still giving 5 starts because it was so good and everyone was welcoming.
