Curators and employees are friendly and knowledgeable, and the caliber of artist is exceptional (no bias here, really). All the pieces on show are for sale, and the gallery also has a little gift area selling smaller pieces like stationery, jewelry, and pottery. Husband and I picked up a miniature ceramic vase for a steal. ArtSpace is a bit isolated and remotely located near "Old Town" Herndon, but it's worth seeking out.

This arts center has been functioning since 1962. Most of the artists that participate in the "project" are local or up and coming folks from DC/MD or Virginia. Terrible customer service…read more Spent a lot of money to have a nice picture framed after being recommended to this place. When we received it back it was not centered in the frame. Owner said that she normally asks, which she did not, and never bothered to reach out over 2 months to see if we wanted our picture centered. You'd think that's pretty common knowledge that you'd want something centered in a picture frame you're spending $400 on, but maybe that's just me. Said it would be a minimum of $140 to attempt to fix - even though this was her mistake - and could possibly need to purchase an entire new frame for upwards of $300. Now making our simple framing project cost over $800. Absolutely ridiculous for a mistake that was theirs. Despite the unwillingness to help find a solution, I still would have reluctantly spent the money to have this fixed. That was until she got incredibly rude and loud with my wife and kicked her out of the store. If you want to spend money to have a picture framed off center, and then get yelled at when you're unhappy with the final product, then this is the place for you!

You can learn pottery and stain glass but check with them to see when classes are available. The lady that owns the shop will be the one that teaches the class and at this moment she will not be able to teach for a few more months. She's had some major surgery. They were all very nice and helpful on helping with painting. You can paint and go back and finish if you have to take a break. Painting large pieces can take a little longer. Will go back and check out more pieces to paint.
