    Bella Skillet

Sat outside today with my faithful 4-legged companion for breakfast. Ordered the Bella Skillet with sausage and Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice. There was a lot of liquid coming from the spinach and mushrooms took away from the crispy potatoes unfortunately.

This was part of a mini strip mall with twenty or so tables. The menu had lots of breakfast and lunch options to choose from. The service was friendly while the food came in a timely manner. I split Brianna's cookie butter French toast ($14.99) and the pecan chicken melt ($12.99). The French toast had three slices of Texas toast with sautéed strawberries, bananas, and cookie butter. This was great. The toast was cooked appropriately and there were plenty of fruit pieces that accompanied it. The combination of cookie butter and the fruit was an ideal combination. The chicken melt came with Applewood smoked bacon, tomato, and Swiss cheese on a fresh baked croissant. This was tasty. The croissant was light and fluffy while the chicken salad had big chunks of chicken. There were not too many pecans present, but not a big deal. This also came with a side of waffle fries that were good too. I also tried Bubba's skillet that came with grilled ham, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese with eggs on a cheesy potato casserole. This was an all-around hearty and fulfilling dish too. Will I go back? Sure.

In and out in no time. My server Gracie was adorable, sweet and kind oh and very attentive. We come here weekly and enjoy the tasty food and serving sizes. Holds us over until dinner time.

A really good skillet For breakfast I had their Bubba's Skillet, made with ham, onions, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese atop their cheesy potato casserole, and topped with a couple of eggs. It was really good, so much cheese. I've posted two photos, one of the dish and one where I flipped back one of the eggs so you can see the golden delights beneath. It came with a not that small of a dish of fresh fruit, a colorful mixture of berries and melon. To me this was a first class breakfast. I particularly liked my server, smiling and attentive, getting every aspect of her job right. My food was ready and delivered in under 10 minutes. The openness and colorful décor of artwork made The Original Egg a welcoming place. While the restaurant was fairly busy with seating both inside and out, there was still plenty of parking available in the shared parking lot. This was a very good choice for me today.

I have to say I thought our waitress was very nice. I had the egg sandwich on a croissant. I didn't really like the croissant and didn't think it was very fresh... enough said.

Had breakfast here, it was a busy morning there. Our waitress was very nice. We did wait a long time for our food though. Classic egg Benedict: The hollandiase sauce on my eggs was cold, the overall food was not warm enough. The eggs Benedict crab cake was ok. Wasn't the biggest fan of their crab cake. The place is cute inside ..Hopefully next time it will be better .

Very Berry French Toast was very good.

I have eaten here a few times and food is always nice. I usually like to sit outside and the last two times I have been there including this morning the service from the gal was incredible. I tip normally based on both food and service and I tipped more the last two times simply because of the service. I actually got an email from my Credit Card for me to confirm the % given. Great place to go sit outside and enjoy the time spent.

Bubba's Skillet with an extra poached egg..

If you've been around Sarasota a long time, at some point you probably visited the Broken Egg on Siesta Key... Still there, but the village is so swamped it's hard to go, park, wait... And the menu is a little pricier out there. The "Original Egg?" This is the original sister restaurant to the Broken Egg, as I'm told. And it's named this, because the Broken Egg concept went on to become a national franchise, called "Another Broken Egg". Which I refuse to go to, LOL.. So, if you want to avoid chain restaurants, and you don't like crowds and long waiting lines, go to this one, the Original Egg on Clark Road... And you'll be far from disappointed... I think, quite happy! This place is a breakfast and lunch set up, closes around 2:00, and not the kind of place you want to show up at 5 to 2:00. I'd like to give you a dissertation on the menu, I'm sure everything's good, but I cannot ever get past Bubba's Skillet... Potatoes, cheese, mushrooms, and eggs... Sounds simple but you will crave it once had, so be forewarned!! The surprising addition is a side fruit cup: usually this means the ketchup ramekin with cantaloupe and honeydew. This place always has fresh seasonal berries and watermelon also. Seriously? I would put this easily in the top five breakfast joints of Sarasota, and Top Two in making poached eggs, if that's your thing. High quality, and absolutely consistent every time I've been here. Service is also from adequate to excellent. They also have baked goods, the biscuits are fresh, and if you pay cash and have good timing, you may get a free cookie, too. This place has the Fab Four key ingredients for me: it's local, it's consistent, the food is great, and the prices reasonable. And I don't see any of that changing!

Potato Medely (though they might be deep fried....you would NEVER know. I thought they were roasted.

Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and whether you sit inside or outside, you're in for something special. Now for the best part... the pizza. We eat pizza about once a week and it's my husband's favorite food. We brought our granddaughter with us, and pizza is her favorite too. She immediately knew what she wanted: mushrooms and pepperoni. Done. As for us? We had no idea where to start. We ordered the Wise Guy: vodka sauce base, sesame seed crust, spicy soppressata, ricotta, fresh basil, and Calabrian chili hot honey. We also asked our server for their favorite recommendation and ordered the Vodka-Roni: vodka sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, burrata cheese, and fresh basil. Were we dreaming? This is hands down the best pizza we have ever had anywhere in the world. New York pizza? Sorry... step aside. You've officially been removed from our top three. They are now #1. This was the most flavorful pizza we have ever eaten. I'm usually not particularly picky about pizza. My husband, however, is a pizza connoisseur. Going forward, every pizza will now be judged against these. We live in Polk City and only travel down this way every few months or so, but this place is now officially a destination. We would absolutely go out of our way for this pizza. And can we talk about the sesame seed crust? Where have you been all my life? Absolute genius. The staff were incredibly kind, full of suggestions, helpful with leftovers, and made the experience even better. And finally... the chocolate-dipped cookies. Wow. Some places serve pizza. This place serves an experience.

It would be completely a miss on your map. We waited for a long time for a table, well past what we were quoted. There's not a lot of tables inside and a couple of bar seats. It is very small, we almost left, and the host said he would bring us food if we wanted to go next door and grab a drink. But it was well worth the wait. The host as well as our server were so friendly, so laid-back definitely beach vibes. They talked to us about how the owner was originally from upper Northeast came down and opened up the shop and they all were friends and worked together. You felt a great sense of a family to the staff. He recommended the grouper Reuben, which, maybe to some of you sounds kind of gross, but it was literally the best fish sandwich. I think I've ever had in my life. And i grew up on and still eat a lot of seafood. It was melted cheese. The fish was fresh. It was packed with fish, just enough sauerkraut and thousand Island to give it just a hint of Reuben. The fish remained the star and the bread was incredible too! The environment as you can see from my pictures it's just what you would expect a surf shack type of place to be and you literally could walk from the beach although we did drive after being at the beach all day. Highly highly recommend 10/10! Seek this place out if you're ever in Sarasota in Siesta Key Beach, it is the best and so fresh you won't regret it.
