We dined here for dinner around 7 PM on a Tuesday. There were not many dine-in customers while we were there but there was a steady flow of pick up orders coming in the whole night. It's seat yourself, so we grabbed an empty booth along the wall and waited for service. There was one server working both the dining room and the pick up counter and seeing she was busy we patiently waited. The decor/ambiance is very basic. Faux greenery adorns the walls with other live greens lining the front window. It's very simple with booths lining the far left wall and various sized tables filling the center. If you have larger groups, it looks like they can accommodate that with no problem by pulling tables together. Food- we ordered spinach dip as an appetizer (honestly, the best thing I ate), the Italian salad (plentiful portion, fresh, and filling), the soup (was supposed to be chicken pot pie but we got corn and crab due to a mix up but it was actually an upgrade cuz it was delicious and piping hot), a large pepperoni pizza (again, piping hot but perhaps not enough crust for my personal liking and maybe a smidge on the greasy side), and the apple crisp dessert (very simplistic and would benefit from a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.) Service was perfect for how we like to eat. We don't like to be rushed or hovered over. When we needed something, Carmen took care of it right away and Mark helped out by refilling a drink and bringing us a to go box for our leftovers. Overall we enjoyed our experience. It's definitely a no-frills type of environment but the food was good as was the service. There was a bunch of stuff on the menu that looked good so we will likely go back to try more stuff. read more

Literally one of the best wraps I've ever had -- I don't normally write reviews but it was so good I was like... I need to write a review of this wrap. The flavors are so great, the wrap is so thin and crispy (what kind of bread is it? Omg, so good). The sun-dried tomato dressing -- delicious. We had the Italian pie in elmwood which was absolutely delicious. Everything was great! So we decided to try this on in Kenner. The pizza was greasy and just sitting in a grease puddle, I ordered a Alfredo chicken pasta and the gave me this meat ball red sauce pasta that wasn't good AT ALL. They really just carelessly messed up the whole order. I will Never eat from this location again read more

we have been to the Italian pie in Harahan numerous times and we finally pulled the plug.That place is awful, you have one waitress that's taking care of the restaurant, answering the phone and checking out the to go orders. the food is always cold, and when they bring your food out, they bring everything at the same time. any other restaurant, you would get your salad first and then your meal. One night we were there, one couple walked out because they had been waiting for 20 minutes to be waited on. The waitress that was there was absolutely clueless and a little rude. My kids and I LOVE The Original Italian Pie in Kenner. The food is delicious with large portions and thankfully with this economy, reasonably priced. The servers are so friendly, especially Carmen. When I first moved to Kenner, my husband and I tried this location and didn't care for the meal. The service was slow and the food was barely warm. Months later, I decided to check out their lunch special. It was a totally different experience! The service was excellent- friendly, efficient. The food was fresh and delicious. I have been back for lunch several times and also for dinner with my husband. Each time the experience has been great. Pizzas were hot and fresh. The salads crisp and full. And the service attentive. I'm glad I gave it another chance! Some favorites: Italian salad, pepperoni and olive pizza, Italian sandwich, spinach dip, garlic bread. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the pastas. read more

I buy pasta and lasagna and was delicious i can tell about pizza cuz i don't try it yet but im sure are delicious too. I have been eating at Italian pie for years! It has turned into a place that I regularly bring my elderly parents. So many different options, but we always start with the spinach and artichoke dip that is served with breadsticks. I change up what I get when I go but a few of my favorites are the chicken Alfredo sandwich, garlic shrimp pizza, Italian wings, and the spinach and artichoke sandwich. We ate at this restaurant this evening. Had to wait about 45 minutes for our pizza. Meantime some people who had come in about 30 minutes after us, but apparently were friends of the owner lady, got their pizza at the same time we did. Watery pizza sauce, doughy crust. First of all i love the location and here's why. I can get my meat lovers piza and bbq wings and once im done eating food its dessert by the Baskin Robinsons. My fiancé and I stopped here today. We started with the mozzarella sticks. When they came out we noticed most of them were busted open. Looking at them further, it was obvious they were baked not fried. They weren't hot and were burnt on the bottoms. I was shocked that they even put that on our table. After expressing that we weren't pleased, thankfully they did take them off the bill. We ordered a half and half pizza. It was a decent pizza, not great, but decent. The building seemed in desperate need of cleaning. After going to the back to find the restroom, I found out exactly how dirty it was. I got a good view of the kitchen and behind the counter. It I could give this place zero stars it was terrible. The interior was horrible and it just looked old and out dated. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and let me just say you can buy frozen mozzarella sticks better; they were soggy and burned at the same time... how is that even possible. The pizza was soggy greasy and in some places it wasn't even cooked all the way. I went because it was on Groupon, but lesson learned. read more
