The pancake house is a classic spot, bustling with locals every morning. Ambiance is cozy, feels like an old lodge or a cabin, lined with vintage plates from various places. I was happy to discover that they have multiple gluten free options for nearly everything on their menu! The blueberry syrup was awesome. Bacon was crispy! Service was kind and enthusiastic about the syrup choices. Definitely coming back!

This place was outstanding! The menu is huge...I loved the pumpkin pancakes. The service is slow...and that's a good thing! They take their time making each meal, and somehow balance a bustling flow of customers but keep it comfortable. Our servicer was incredibly friends and fun, we never felt rushed. I saw three different staff members hug customers on their way out, which was super cool. You may need to wait a little for your meal, but it's well worth it!

Always love Original Pancake House! You can count on consistent food for a great breakfast. This location is especially nice because it is so roomy and can accommodate large families like ours.

Whenever I'm in the Bend, I make it a point to stop by and enjoy a delicious breakfast here at the original pancake house. The service is fast and friendly and enjoy the atmosphere along with the coffee mugs they have. If your in haven't tried this place you need too! Make sure to stop by today and enjoy the goodness it had to offer. One down side is that the patio is only open on the weekends, so if you have a pet you won't be able to bring them along during the week.

Picked up an omelet to go today and it was the worst presentation I've ever seen. How can you mess up an omelet? It tasted as bad as it looks. Last time I will eat there!

Skip the bougie brunch spot your friend that's been to bend twice said you must must flippin try, and get to this spot. They do breakfast like you wouldn't believe. The banana pancakes maybe the best bite of pancake you'll ever have, but everything is awesome. Sure maybe it's a chain, but it's franchised and the Eugene and Bend ones hit different. Trustttttt

    Fresh fruit crepe...yum!

I am giving the Original Pancake House 5 stars for a few reasons. I called ahead and they put us on the list for a table with wheelchair access. We walked (and wheeled) my MIL over from Touchmark so this was a big A+ in my book. Excellent Breakfast! The eggs were perfectly basted. The fruit in the crepe was ripe, fresh and light. There was some added sugar, but not too much. Employees were patient, kind and service was good. Most of all, Mom enjoyed it.

We stopped in here on the way out of town as we drove from WA to CA. It was awesome that they were open at the early hour we hit the road, and when we arrived, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. The parking lot was super dark and completely empty, so we got the pick of parking and tables. I think we went to an original pancake house in Hawaii or somewhere along our national travels with the military, but we remembered the menu and some of the things we had eaten before. Unfortunately, what we remembered and what we ended up being served were very different things. I ordered the corn pancakes ($9.50) and the waitress said "there are a lot of them, do you know that?" and I said "ok, then can I have a half order?" She ended up giving me the child's portion which is 3 pancakes instead of 6 but it was still way too much food. I also ordered the biscuit with butter and jam ($3.50), and he ordered the sourdough pancakes ($9.75). Despite being the only ones there, it took awhile to get the food to us. Once we were served, we were really disappointed in the food. Everything seemed to be lacking salt, and the flavors were just really bland and flat. These were not the pancakes we've had before, and they were just really heavy, doughy, and boring. The biscuit tasted like it was just made with leftover pancake dough so it was much of the same. The only good thing was the coffee, which was basically as good as we remembered. Overall, not a bad price for a lot of food, but that lot of food is pretty low quality. Service was not very friendly and surprisingly long wait, and definitely not worth the time or money for the product. Given how diverse and interesting the food scene is in Oregon, if I had the chance I would definitely not return to eat here again.

Ordered chocolate chip pancakes and got buttermilk pancakes with chocolate chips on top. Rest of food was unseasoned and bland.

Hubby had classic Eggs Benedict that he said was very good. I started with a warm Chai and a Bobbin for Apples Mimosa which was magical. Having read the reviews I was prepared to order the stuffed croissant French toast. Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

We decided to try this place (and yes have been to McKay Cottage) because of the local hype around it. Got there around 0815 on Memorial Day - no wait- got seated at a booth right inside the door. We were given water right away, and coffee to follow. The gal took our order; California omelet for me with white toast, and Biscuits and Gravy for the DH. I'd say we waited around 20 minutes for our food; not bad. Huge plates! I had a sneak bite of his meal, and it was not bad although the biscuits (which were huge) seemed pretty doughy. Pretty much no flavor in the gravy so loaded up on the pepper and it was better. I've noticed in Bend the gravy is always served on top of mutant bread lumps known as biscuits instead of on the side. My omelet, the potatoes were very good- for the 1/4 of it I could eat. Lots of stuff jammed in there for sure! White toast and whatever jam they served was not good. Coffee was not good; weak. It is expensive, just like every other sit down breakfast place around here- $50 before tip. I'd say if you like to start your day in a less than serene way you might like this place. I think it's a charming spot that holds a special place in the hearts of the locals here. And that's alright by me.

He said it was spicier than he had anticipated (he likes spicy) and multiple times between mouthfuls he raved how much he liked it. My wife had scrambled eggs with bacon and 3-stack of buttermilk pancakes. I had the small version of the Everything omelette. Believe me, this "small" omelette is bigger than most large omelettes you will find elsewhere. It was fantastic. I also had bacon and one buttermilk pancake. The bacon is thick and perfectly cooked for us. Now, the pancakes, mind you, are big. Despite their size, they are light and delicious. The server was friendly and attentive, visiting us frequently with coffee, water and anything we needed. The time from order to table was surprisingly quick considering the number of people there. When we got seated initially, we immediately felt comfortable as we looked at the others in the room. We were confident we were among locals who are regulars at Jake's. We know why they would be regulars. I am hesitant to rate a restaurant with 5 stars because considering all the factors of serving a perfect meal with perfect service in a perfect setting and making a customer perfectly satisfied is virtually impossible. Jake's deserves a 5 from this family. We think you will agree.
