I have just been waiting for this opportunity to come here. We were so excited it was finally here and open. This restaurant is an extension of the food court on the inside of White Marsh Mall. There is an outside entrance ìdentifiable by a blue awning, that's your visual. For those that are challenged by steps, tĥere is a small elevator, the only hitch witĥ tĥat is is operated by the hostess. The seating is adequate, no delay at mid day. Service was great! The servers were busy at their pace, nothing rushed, but steady which made all the difference in the atmosphere in the dining areas. One note on seating, if you sit on the right side, you will be close to the partition between the kitchen and you, making a noisier visit. There are quietier sections. The menu was a scaled down version of the 1 in Canton. It would be too ambitious to attempt to make all of that This menu was well thought out. The food was fantastic. I had the crispy chicken sandwich, omg, it was fantastic. It comes with boom boom sauce, which i requested be put on the side.There is also a sides section, the onion rings were crispy, nice and hot. My husband had a waffle, a "chocolate" waffle meaning a regular plain waffle with chocolate chips, and sliced strawberries on top, which was a bit of a disappointment, but it came together as it should. read more

I have been to the northern Virginia location (west falls church) and I am glad they are in white marsh. Portions large and prices reasonable. Nice place! This location is in the old red robin spot inside the food court of white marsh mall. I love that they had GF pancakes, so of coarse i had to get them with a side of bacon. My son ordered the strawberries and cream pancakes with fries (he is vegetarian). For drinks, i had cranberry juice and he had strawberry lemonade. Everything was great. The staff were nice and everything arrived pretty quick given the amount of people in the restaurant. Will definitely return and hopefully they still have the GF pancakes read more

Definitely better service than IH*P - they greet you with a smile and move with a purpose. The pancakes are also 10x better. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a real treat - they don't offer free refills on it but once you try it you'll know why. It does have a little pulp but it's sooooooo good I promise you won't mind. Their half and half is also pretty special. I didn't care for the eggs or turkey bacon but I was told that the turkey sausage and [seasoned] home fries were solid. read more

My son and I decided to check out this place for the first time today, and it did not disappoint! Even though it was 1 hour before it closed, our server did not make us feel rushed at all. This is even after my son ordered the apple pancakes and she said that it would take a whole 1/2 hour before the dish would come out (because it has to be baked in the oven when they prepare it). It was worth the wait!! The prices were pretty reasonable too. My "senior" pancake breakfast was only $6.99, and it had 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon and I substituted the eggs for home fries. Everything was delicious. It's a family style restaurant in White Marsh Mall at the end of the food court, so nothing fancy here. A must stop for breakfast. I used to go to the pancake place in the city but this place is so much closer. It's conveniently located on the outside of White Marsh Mall for those who like to avoid the mall. The interior of the place is big and spotless. A very welcoming space. Our favorite person Caitlyn is there and she is by far the most amazing person you'll come across. The food here is fresh and delicious. The prices are also reasonable. I went here today for the first time for breakfast. I have been to The original pancake house in California but I didn't know they had them in Maryland. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. I got the french toast, eggs, and bacon. The French toast didn't have much flavor.. usually they have a hint of sweetness, but these were bland. We got there a little after 7:00am on Friday morning. Chris was our waitress. She was fabulous. Very helpful and just right on the timing of being attentive. I got biscuits and sausage gravy which was tasty. My husband got the blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup and thick bacon. He Loved it. The bacon snob in him said the bacon was very good, worth coming back for. The potatoes were well seasoned which is such a rarity. We definitely will be going there again. read more

Went in For breakfast in the area on a Subway morning. Was seated immediately, once I was able to find the entrance. My server was friendly, and attentive, without being obnoxious. We were not greeted. The person just asked 2? And started walking. Once seated our waitress brought us coffee and took our orders. 44 minutes later she came back with our food. In between she never checked in for a coffee refill or apologized for the wait. When she finally brought our food it was cold even though she INSISTED "it had just come out". When I questioned the food temp, she said she'd let her manager know. About 10min later the manager arrived and agreed our food was cold and half heartedly apologized and said they had a lot of door dash orders as well as a crowded restaurant. My waitress was wonderful! The food would be better if real butter was used. The whole experience would improve if the floors were ever washed. There was another waitress who had on booty shorts. She held her phone while talking on I the entire time that I was there. This waitress also to some puffs on her vape while leaning in the kitchen. I guess the job market is that desperate. read more

The food here was pretty good. The sweet iced tea was sweet. It reminded me of Milo's sweet iced tea. The home fries are seasoned which I always love because I really didn't need to use ketchup because they were seasoned. The sausage was really good. I don't know what type of sausage brand that is, but I really enjoyed it. When I got home, I ate my French toast and it was just OK. The chicken that comes with the chicken and waffles were delicious. They are really seasoned which I love. The price wasn't too bad, the two dishes I ordered came up to around $30. The staff was friendly it took them a little while to come out from the back to bring me to the table, but after that, I enjoyed the service. I'll be back to dine again. read more

I first had The Original Pancake House in Rockville. It was great. We would drive down to Bethesda to get it on the weekends. To my surprise there was one in Hawaii that we enjoyed. Now to this location in Middle River. Atmosphere was nice, serviced was attentive and nice. For some reason the food didn't taste the same. It has been some time since I have been there but it was not the same. I will try again for the benefit of the doubt. read more

I recently visited the White Marsh location at 10:00 in the morning for breakfast. The food was delicious, but new management may need to come in. This early in the morning, everything should be stocked. It should of been stocked the end of the shift on the previous day. There was no paper towels in the women's bathroom, 2 of the restrooms had no toilet paper, and the sugar dishes was low on all the tables. This is a result of poor management. A good manager would make sure all of these things are in place at the end of the workday or before the establishment opens. This was a cause for concern for me, so please do better. read more

It's was okay, I mean I don't feel like you can really go wrong with breakfast food. I opted for the 2 x 2 x 3. It comes with 2 eggs your way, 2 pieces of breakfast meat, and 3 pancakes. The bacon was not my favorite, extremely thick and chewy-wish I asked for another item. The pancakes, were pancakes, nothing special about their basic pancakes. The service on the other hand was extremely slow! Getting the food didn't take as much time but the waitress was pretty much serving the entire establishment. The coffee was okay, I was only able to get one cup because my waitress generally was nowhere to be found. Came here for brunch on New Year's Eve and the pancakes and French toast were cold and bland. Then on top of that the drinks tasted like kool aid..max sugar, very little water and hardly mixed. I ordered a Arnold Palmer but it tasted more like an Arnold Jackson! When waitress asked was It good I should've said "What cha talking bout Willis"! The service was great tho and the waitress swapped out our food for something better but the damage was done already. I attended a birthday party with 42 people and they were very accomodating. The owner and wait staff, who were stretched to their limits, did their best to attend to everyone's needs. Arrived at 8:45 on a weekday morning. Not a single customer, we were the only people there. Service was ok, but they made an error on our order (for which I blame the kitchen, we told the server 3 times). Food was low grade diner quality. Had blueberry pancakes. Gummy and lacking real berries. Might be their "original" recipe, as the name infers, for many other spots have improved pancake recipes. You'd think, if "pancake" is in the company name, they'd know how to make pancakes? Am I right? All of that might have earned two or three stars. But the noise! They are playing background music, ok. And from the kitchen, seemingly every single device is making a repeating beeping sound, all at once. It sounded like your backyard in the summer, when all of the crickets are chirping. Except this was not crickets, it was annoying electronic warning or completion sounds. Loud. Over. And. Over. Again. Massive headache, had to gobble down our glue like breakfast and bolt (paying before leaving, to be certain). We are not from here and we're looking for a fun place while passing through. I have been to several Pancake House locations and up until now, have found no fault with where I have dined. Until Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. The latest location, in the White Marsh Mall in Baltimore County, was a abysmal disappointment. First, my stepdaughter and I arrived close to closing of which we were not aware thinking that it was a great day to go to the newest location and I had basically bragged that the Pancake House had the best pancakes and great service and was excited to bring her. Okay, so we get there and it is empty except for one lone diner. The inside was kind of dark and melancholy seeming. The floor arrangement seemed kind of choppy and not inviting at all. Please work on the lighting. The hostess warned us that they were close to closing (2:50 pm) and she said that we could still order, but to do it fast. We could eat, but the order had to be placed before 3pm. That took us aback. Who orders immediately upon being seated, especially with the offerings of Pancake House? It takes a minute. And she placed us near the cash register, I guess so that she would not have to travel far in a near empty space. So already my stepdaughter was disillusioned, but she agreed to try out the menu and see what she wanted. We placed our order with the hostess hovering (very disconcerting) and after she took our beverage order, went on her way. We looked at each other dubiously and debated if perhaps we should go over to the Silver Diner (MUCH brighter, livelier in there!), but as I noted prior, I wanted to experience the Pancake House at that location. We took in the environment and right away noted that the concessions on the tables surrounding us were woefully empty, granted it was nearly the end of the business day, but this was post-Labor Day, and schools were in session and traffic in the mall was reduced so the fact that there were empty syrup bottles on other tables, lack of sugar packets in some holders, bottles of Tabasco on some tables, but not on others, communicated a lack of care in service or presentation of the name "Pancake House" borne in history of the establishment. To say that I was disappointed, does even convey my feelings here. I first went to a Pancake House in Bethesda, MD and it was such a pleasant experience, I went back several more times. In New Jersey, (West Caldwell), Boston Street in downtown Baltimore, almost visited the one in Columbia, SC, but pressed for time, and each time, I was not disappointed. This is the very first time, that I am assigning a score of -5 for the Original Pancake House. I don't know who decided that location in White Marsh, but I believe it should be revisited. Many folks are no doubt delighted that there is a Pancake House in White Marsh, but once again, I think it should be updated or try another location or build a stand-alone. Or maybe lease out one of the buildings that dot the area near White Marsh of closed businesses. Also, WHILE we were still eating, workman dragged out a ladder and started seemingly to repair light fixtures or something in the ceiling....NEAR US!!! Not only that, like us, the hours on the door is not very obvious so when a diner entered and was turned away, he noted the same thing "I didn't even see the closing hours!". Some suggestions: I have ordered banana pancakes before, but really, this order, the bananas were not so thinly sliced, quite chunky and while not unpalatable, it just was not inviting. Not trying to change your recipe for those pancakes, but how about cook, fry, whatever, the bananas INTO the pancake, THEN further entice by placing thinly sliced bananas on top for the complete "banana pancake experience"? The buttermilk pancakes tasted NOT like buttermilk pancakes (according to my stepdaughter), tasted like they were made with just water. Make sure kitchen chefs are following the original Pancake House recipes and not minimizing the ingredients for a budget saving hack. Enlarge the printing of restaurants hours on the door. When we left, we looked at the entry door with the hours and it was not that obvious...make the print larger so there is no doubt about the hours. The entry door was kind of awkward as well even though a ramp led to the door. Maybe design a ramp inside in addition to the lift. The designer/engineer who thought it would work almost seems dismissive of what the demographic serving the White Marsh area would accept. I am not one of them. These are just my takes. I will probably visit Pancake House again, just not THAT one. I almost feel like I am owed another dining experience since that one was soooooo crappy (I don't have another word to use that can fully capture what happened there). read more
