**July 2025: Tuesday Afternoon Visit**…read more This was such a great charity shop to visit! It was a pretty hot summer afternoon so being inside a well ventilated and ac'd store was a relief. The store itself is styled like a boutique and is a long hallway with different rooms focused on different clients (ie. children's section, men's section, active etc). I did feel like many of the women's clothes were geared towards a more mature crowd, but I appreciated the fitting room to try everything on. Unfortunatley, the things I loved were probably meant for juniors/teenagers and were just a tad too small for me *cries* Nevertheless, I found some really great (like new conditioned) random things like a Superman BBQ Apron (perfect for the summer of Superman), and Michael Kors Mary Jane Pumps that will work perfectly for my Wicked outfit that I'm putting together. I didn't know at the time, but I suspect because I visited during the week of July 4th that everything in store was 50% off, which almost felt like highway robbery since everything was already very inexpensive already! My Mary Janes were $10 and thus $4.50 and the Superman Apron came out to $2.50. This is a great clean, organized and well priced charity shop that I'd love to support again on a return visit. Enjoy!

Fred left about 1/3 of the furniture and told me they could come back another day but I'd have to PAY for his FUEL round trip...AGAIN. (Cost of Gas was NOT mentioned in Freds phoney sales pitch) Fred also claimed I would receive an itemized list, AND BE PAID WHEN MY ITEMS SELL. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Fred never got me legitimate receipts for tax purposes. NEVER heard from FRED G. again on any consignment items. Fred didn't return texts or calls. Fred G. steals from vulnerable clients. In short My family estate was 920 Geneva st. in Lake Geneva... We let Fred's team into our home because he promised: Photographic inventory of the items we trusted him to take without us there..... we got nothing. He ignored emails from my sister and myself for months. He promised monthly checks as well.... after months of no responses from Fred, my sister asked me to go in to his shop. I did. Fred bumbled around came up with a bunch of bizarre excuses. Including saying my sister said to only work with her... she is the one who sent me there to confront him as to what stuff he took, and why he hadn't paid or communicated in months. He tried to bizarrely blame her. Anyways. Read other reviews and his attempted brags in his responses about how many clients he's had... which just support all the other reviewers stating how he ripped them off during tough family times. He's also been trying to get a review I left removed... Yelp admin... if you ever need receipts for any of these facts Fred tries to get taken down, feel free to contact me.

They were sincerely trying to help me and looked through all the phones there (a lot ) every time I went in. You know how it is. You tell yourself you're going to back up those PICs and the information on all the people you need to stay in occasional connection with but you just don't realize how much you don't do this until you lose a phone. But the weeks turned into months and I gave up hoping I'd ever recover that phone and then 6 months later this nice fellow from Ford Bros. tracked me down by calling my contacts to return my phone! He gets abandoned phones in lots from places like municipal governments or whatever and before he sells any of them he goes through each of them to make sure they are clean and that is just unbelievable. Mine was in a lot he picked up from some town in Southeast Wisconsin so how it got there from State Fair is a mystery that will probably never be solved. He went through a lot of trouble to return my phone to me and then tried very hard to refuse my reward. Actually I'm not sure that he ever even cashed my cheque. That was Cole but I'm betting his brother is just as ethical. They have a Milwaukee location too, if you need to move antique, collectible goods or liquidate an estate you can bank on the honesty of this operation.

People will think its like "BCBG". Say it fast and no one will catch on. Just work with me on this one.) These days, the rest of the city seems to like "GW" as much as me. Back in the day when there was like one location, I used to haul it out to 91st and silver spring where I got more trumpet skirts, Chinese laundry pumps and leather and fur jackets than I can ever tell you about. But after a song reaches #1 about it and I leave the palmer street location empty handed around Halloween because its so overrun with people....well, things have changed. This location is really nice too. There's almost too much stuff here. I like to go in with a rough list of a few "I have to find" items and then keep an open mind. Some items that are good here: --Holiday stuff -- everyone's xmas/Easter/st pats day stuff is here. And generally in good condition. --vases, vases, vases. Many in every shape size and color. --target appears to donate all its unsellable new stuff here. That weird Misu whatever his name is jacket that seemed overpriced? Wait a few months and come here. You'll find it for slightly less. --designer handbags. They lock the nicer ones up and charge more than ud expect ($10 and up) but when you consider what kohls charges for some ugly no-name bag its a good deal. --also, never ever buy a jean skirt at a regular store. Cuz I can guarantee you'll donate it here eventually. How do I know? Cuz EVERY JEAN SKIRT in Milwaukee seems to be here. Everyone apparently goes through a cowgirl phase and outgrows it quickly. --on any given day, I can always find a couple dresses here I'd wear --not like this is unique to goodwill but if you're a size 5 or below you'll do well here.
