Yay Outrigger! Our meal was fantastic- start to finish! We had: cheese curds, the spinach and artichoke dip, entrees for 4, wine, desert- everything was terrific. I ordered the blackened chicken salad and stole some of my dad's 6oz sirloin- both so good. The food is good and service is great, but the water not so good. Wish we brought in a few water bottle for some of us that drink alcohol. Purified water would work. read more

Our favorite Okoboji steak house / night club, a great atmosphere, fun guests, super food...all why it's one of the local's favorites! My own favorites...the small bar steak, blacked salmon salad, fried chicken, scallops... and snacks like chicken dummies, chislic (marinated steak tips), artichoke dip...and twice baked potatoes. We were looking for a dinner spot in Okoboji during the "off season" and ended up here because of the limited dining options we noticed driving around. It felt like I travelled back to the 80's in terms of ambiance. The salads were awful. My wife went with the chicken salad and it was a piece of grilled chicken on top of some colorless dried out iceberg bag lettuce with a tired looking cucumber and a couple mini carrot sticks thrown in. On a brighter note I did enjoy the broasted chicken, as it was the first time I tried it. Go with the white meat version- not very healthy but tasted great. read more

So many better places to eat at in Okoboji Lake area. First time ever to Okoboji and we had a 20 party group so we tried this place out since they said they could get us right in. It wasn't terrible but it just wasn't that good either. All of it. Experience, food, service, price. Several food orders came out cook wrong and with requests ignored like no tomatoes, black olives etc. Overall food was just ok. Service at one of our two tables was good. Sorry to say as this use to be my favorite place to go for walleye in years past. This was our first time this year trying it out, the Walleye was so horrible. I took my first bite which was so slimy and then found bones in the bite I also crunched on something and after spitting it out discovered it was fish scales. The taste that I did have was very blah and I found it strange the only thing they offered was tarter sauce. I also found that the price was way to much for what you got. We have been here several times in the past couple years. For over twenty years we didn't really even know this place existed. But the food has been great every time we've been there. My husband and I usually order the steak and have never been disappointed. The cocktail drink menu is HUGE!! Literally like 5 pages long!! I can always find something to drink especially being allergic to rum. 5 stars for the food less one for the ambiance. It's stuck in the 70's or 80's with its nautical decor. Way too many starfish and sea shells to go around. But it's definitely worth a trip to try the food! read more

The Outrigger has been around for a long time and the previous owner had overwhelmed us with the "kitschy trashy decor" and underwhelmed us with the service and food! Thankfully the new owner has changed all of that! We have had two great dining experiences at the Outrigger this summer. On both occasions we had special guests with us and all of us had great meals. The service had been attentive without being overbearing. The food has been properly prepared and beautifully serviced. The Outrigger is moderately priced. On both occasions I had the Lighthouse chislic loaded with onions, peppers and mushrooms. Yum, yum, yum! Others had the walleye, steak and oscars. Everything was perfectly prepared! We think our meals at the Outrigger have been the best meals we have had at the Lake this summer. Much better than other more trendy restaurants in the area! I hope goes well for them and they are around for a long time! read more

Great restaurant! Food was great. Our table had a variety of dishes from chislic to catfish. We also had the coconut shrimp which were great. All very tasty and served by an excellent waiter. Service time was good and the atmosphere was wonderful. read more

I am here on business and have only been to Iowa a few times and first for Okoboji. Been to Outrigger two days in a row after finishing up work. The owner Jessica has made me feel more than welcome and certainly part of the Okoboji community. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and would certainly come back. read more

The is an American food restaurant that should stop serving food and just serve alcohol. There were quite a few people there, but they were drinking as much as eating. The food is really really bad. The lettuce salad had apparently been frozen and thawed because the lettuce was off color and mushy. The prime rib, ordered medium, was very large, but had clearly been cooked after it had been cut since the outside was brown and the middle was pink. It looked and tasted like it had been boiled to be warmed up. The broasted chicken was tough and dried out. The baked beans were flavorful, but there was some kind of plastic or other inedible object in them. I would recommend you go to any fast food chain before going here. read more

My husband and I both ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes. Steak was fairly good but for the price I would expect it to taste better. If we want ribeye again up their we will go to yesterday's again and only go their for it. It's amazing. Also the mashed potatoes tasted like they had fish in them. read more
