A weekend stop here for lunch with some family but for the price and the quality, it did not match. I ordered simple Chicken wings which came dry and chewy without any sauce variations. The kids Chicken strips were also over cooked and dry. The slider cheeseburger was satisfactory but nothing to make a special trip for. I was in Okoboji with 14 family members. Wanted to go to a place on the water, so we decided on the Ritz. Price is super expensive, but I guess being a tourist town that's to be expected. A person would expect the food to taste good at the prices they charge though. My son got two pizzas and with the required 22% tip came to $110. And he said it was not very good. It took a while to get the food, which was not an issue, but our server did not work very hard for her tip, I guess since we had to pay it, no matter the quality of service. Last year we came to get take out and it was very chaotic and a long wait. But, the food was good so we came back this year to dine in. Yes, it was busy so I tried to give the benefit of the doubt. But after waiting 20 minutes for someone to come say hi to us, we left. Two waitresses saw us and wouldn't make eye contact. One even cleaned the table next to us. Two hours to get bad bar food. When we walked in the sign read "seat yourself" and we promptly saw three tables that were reserved. Staff member said "sit anywhere" and the waitress in our section had to explain the owner reserved the three tables that sat empty for an hour after we arrived and stuffed ourselves into a tight lower deck table. The glassware is plastic. The food is fried mess. The cheese balls? Tysons w no spice and no subtlety. The fries? Old oil shite. The wings were no baked and had "no flavor added" - just sauce on the side. The sandwiches were decent if you don't mind waiting 90 minutes for bar food. The ceiling was circa 1970 and I hit my head in their basement bar. The place is a dilapidated eye sore fit for no person with any taste. I don't mind a dive bar if it knows what it's about. made a reservation 2 weeks out just to arrive and get told they don't take reservations- we had a party of 12 for a bachelorette party. Then heard who i was assuming was a manager say another party that arrived after us had a reservation and needed seating. Tried to be respectful and ask the manager about it and all i got back was disrespect and straight up rudeness. After we got seated and got our drinks and ordered food, it took an hour to get our food and we were not checked on at all in that time. We didn't get all of our food and had trouble getting things taken off the receipt as well. Saw the manager or whoever the rude lady was sitting at the bar pretty much the whole time we were there. Walked into the restaurant got seated and roof was leaking all over our tables. So we moved and waitress took drink order and we requested two high chairs for our 9 month old and our friends 6 month old and was told they didn't have any for us. Got our drinks and ordered food and had to wait a little while no big deal but was never checked on had an empty beer until we got our food and then asked for another one and never received. Along with every other person in our party. The menu said they charge gratuities for groups with 8 people eating. Got our bill and we were charged 22% gratuities even though there was 6 adults and 3 infants that didn't eat. Really liked sitting on the deck and being able to look out over the lake. The Southwest Salad with avocado ranch was very good. Nice sized with a good amount of toppings really worked. The pulled pork sandwich was also very good and the fries were also tasty. I will say - when we went it was seat yourself and service was good, but not very fast. Worst service EVER. First we had to scout for our own table and finally found one in a loud, dark corner. We bussed our own table and waited for someone to acknowledge us. No one did so after 10 minutes we went searching for a waitress. After ordering, it took 30 minutes to get a side salad and so far, another 40 minutes for a pizza. And the pizza was disappointing. I have a love-hate relationship with the Ritz. Let me count the ways: 1. There's not much for beer on tap, but they do have a couple of OK choices like Blue Moon and Fat Tire. 2. It can get really crowded outside and sometimes your only option is to sit in the beating hot sun, but you can usually find a table inside. 3. The crowd can get pretty sketchtastic at times, but on the other hand, EVERYONE comes here. 4. The service is slow, rude, and inefficient, but that's sort of part of its charm. 5. It's a biker bar so occasionally the noise level gets out of control, but on the other hand, it has a big beautiful patio on the lake. 5. The fishbowls are strong, but... the fishbowls are STRONG. I mean, knock you over, live your own personal version of "The Hangover" strong. That equals out to an "A-OK," three-star rating for me.
