Had pizza here a few times. Overall, it's not bad and the dough has a good flavor. However it's undercooked almost every time - the bottom is white and so thin that everything falls when you pick it up. Hard the margarita pizza recently and I ended up having to cook it at home a bit longer. For the price and quality - eh, I'll skip this one from now on. $18 for medium sized, ultra thin should be closer to the $12 mark. read more

One of my favorite pizza spots in the North Hills area - my husband and I also had our first date here so I may be impartial haha. No, but really, it's so good! I think their crust is to die for, the dough has a great flavor. We tried the meatball pizza for the first time and it might be our new favorite! I loved that it had ample ricotta cheese because I feel like there's never enough at other places. I really enjoy their wings too, I like that they come with dipping sauces as opposed to sauce on them. I love that they have wine on tap (my favorite) and have a refillable wine bottle program. They always have a nice selection of local beers too. Plenty of indoor seating and they open up the patio in the summer too. The staff was amazing last night, so friendly and helpful. A solid place for lunch or dinner! My husband and I tried it out recently after our very Italian pastor recommended it -- the wings were great, although a little pricey, but the pizza is the obvious choice here for a reason. This place was quite good. One of the better pizza shops in the area for sure. I tried their classic cheese/Margherita pizza as well as a dessert pizza (their sweet ricotta base with the hazelnut spread. You could also get it with a baklava flavor). The Margherita pie was great. I was so surprised by how thin this pizza is. This is real thin crust. It reminds me of Neapolitan pizza, but not that charred. They have a nice but pretty unremarkable sauce. The dough itself isn't anything crazy either. There is a little bit of kick to the sauce, but not much. Really, the thinness of the pizza is what sets it apart. The dessert pizza was incredible! I have been wanting to try one of these dessert pies for a long time and finally got around to doing it. Their ricotta is creamy, and there isn't a ton of it (I would have liked more) but it is incredible. The hazelnut spread is essentially like Nutella, so it's quite sweet, not that nutty, but delicious nonetheless. It is also super thin like the other pizza. I'd highly recommend it. All in all, a nice pizza spot in Wexford. If you enjoy thin crust pies, this is a must try. Prices are decent, maybe a bit on the expensive side given the portion isn't that big. The dessert pizza is also amazing and you should definitely order it! read more

Not sure how this place isn't rated a 5.0. The service is incredible. They're primarily high school aged kids and are so respectful and on the spot for everything. The food? Very very good! They've also put in a bar and the manager had said he will be getting draft beers soon. Will be great! This place is a well kept secret. Not sure why it's not packed every night! Based on pictures and prices, I expected this place to be like Anthony's Coal Fired, but it was anything but. The pizza was too doughy, not flavorful, underbaked and pale in color and they really skimped on everything (cheese, sauce, toppings). One of my pizzas was supposed to have double pepperoni but what I got I would have considered only 1 serving. That being said it wasn't inedible but for what I paid, I expected a whole lot more in every way. There's far better places for cheaper. read more

Pros: the food is great Cons: basically everything else In my opinion, this place has the best pizza in the north hills. The buffalo chicken is fantastic, the chicken bacon ranch is very very good, and the wings are good. I don't see how anybody could dislike the pizza here. However, it is probably the stingiest restaurant I've been to also. They charge for tiny ranch, they have the tiniest plastic cups for water, they only give their employees a 10% discount on the food, they make you get a full pizza after 5 o clock. You used to be able to order 2, 4, 6 or 8 slices but now you have to order a full pizza for 15 dollars which makes no sense. The restaurant is nice and the outdoor seating is nice but their is no waiter service and you have to get up and go get the food yourself. If you order take out, they wait for you to get there to put the pizza in because "they want to keep the pizza hot." People order take out to get their food and go, not wait 15 minutes there or they wouldn't of ordered take out. It's really annoying and lazy. They aren't open Sunday, yet sell beer and wine. Overall a 4/5 because the food is great, and i go back to eat despite all the stuff that pisses me off about the place. If the pizza wasn't so good the rating would be less tho. I grew up in the area and frequented the oven often. I was craving a delicious wood fired pizza so decided to make the drive. I was greatly disappointed to see that not only do they not use the wood fire oven anymore, they don't even throw dough- they use pre made par baked dough. This place is basically the equivalent of blaze pizza. I understand it's new ownership and they've changed how they do things, but the price they are charging for a premade crust cooked off in a convection oven is unacceptable. Why still call yourself "the oven" if you don't use the beautiful brick oven in the store? The sandwiches are made on the same par cooked pizza crust. read more

Gluten free crust was crispy without being tough like a lot of gluten free crusts are. Love that they offer half pizzas with the gluten free option too. As a pizza snob it's nice to see places that take it seriously. I'm all for a good major chain pizza when the time is right, but food should be good, and pizza is no exception. Swapping out the mediocre pizza for something that's faithful to what pizza should be is great. Their dough is spectacular. They cook the pizza just right, and should you want it cooked a little more based on your toppings, they know what you mean and will honor that request. On the toppings... Whenever I visit a new area, I always seek out the best burger and the best wood fired pizza. The Oven Wexford is now my all-time favorite for wood fired pizza and I've been to 46 states. Friend suggested it and the food was fantastic. The dough was perfectly cooked, not too charred but full of flavor. Toppings of vodka sauce (unusual choice but a fav), meatball and pepperoni were each super delicious. And they give you a lot of topping, too, on the pizza. The bread sticks were also out of this world good. On top of the delicious food, the service (we ordered to-go) was fantastic, the order was ready right on time and the food hot and delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here frequently. Oh and not sure if this is an every night thing but they had a really good jazz band on the patio. A+, five stars read more

The dough has nice feel and flavor all it's own. Both slices had the red sauce which was fresh tasting and not too heavy. I'm looking forward to trying the other sauces in the future. 1. BBQ pork slice. It does have a little spice that catches up to you. All in all it has a good flavor. I was actually happy that it didn't have a heavy BBQ taste. It certainly isn't a mass produced sugary flavor that looks like tar. 2. Meatza slice. The bacon taste is the best and steals the show. The sausage and pepperoni helped make this have more of a "traditional" feeling pizza. I could really taste the wood fire more in this one. Better than the BBQ Pork. The Meatball was okay but wasn't anything super special. It could have been a little warmer. The Ricotta was a nice touch and made the sauce really nice for dipping after the meatball was gone. The Hummus was really good. We even bought some to take home. It was a nice change from the run of the mill chain pizza factories. We will definitely be back soon! read more

Their pre-baked crusts are tough. They serve their overpriced, often burned meatballs in a plastic cup to eat with plastic utensils. Their wedges are tough (same dough as the pizza), their salads don't have mch more than lettuce. The wings may be the only edible thing on the menu. There is a great pizza joint acrross the plaza and a fantastic brick-oven pizza place down the road. Don't waste your money here. I've always left this place angry and dissappointed. read more

I'm not from Pittsburgh but will be moving here soon and he was just so nice and welcoming. The pizza was fantastic! My husband ordered the Meatza and I got the black bean hummus pocket with GF bread and no cheese. They can accommodate many different types of dietary restrictions. Being a first-timer, I stood at the entrance waiting to be seated. Didn't realize that you order your food, seat yourself, get called when the food is ready, and then pick it up at the window. I ordered enough for lunch tomorrow. 1/2 Mediterranean 1/2 spinach pizza on a thin whole wheat crust and romaine salad with a REALLY GOOD vinagarette. The hummus with flat bread was also tasty. Stopped by the Oven for lunch and what a pleasant lunch it was! We tried several items in an effort to bring home food for our kids. My favorite by far was the chicken pesto pizza!! My husband really liked his meatball sandwich and wings! The portions were plentiful and the taste was amazing! The dough was light with just enough chew!
