The service was great, very friendly staff. The coffee here is fantastic!!! Souther' 5/10 Very disappointing. There was probably a tiny sprinkle of chorizo inside the waffles, so you couldn't taste it at all. It was basically a plain waffle with pico on top. Ordered the egg over easy, it was cooked good. Benny 8/10 Decent Benny. The egg was poached well, the ham I thought was pretty good, the waffle was good, and the crab just added that little extra uniqueness.. although the crab was cold. The Hollandaise was decent also, seemed homemade and an ok flavor. I asked for extra, but they put a lot on so I didn't really need it. The green onion garnish was nice, but a little difficult to chew the whole piece. Chopping these up would have been much better. The whole thing in general did need a little salt to bring out the flavors a little more, but overall a pretty good bite. read more

First, we marveled at and celebrated this as our first ever arrival the MOMENT a place opens. 7:59am! Came here after driving through the night and it didn't disappoint. So many vegan options! Wonderful, efficient staff. Quick and polite service. Generous portions. I had a vegan Megaberry waffle without whipped cream. No dairy-free version of that, but offered a dusting of icing sugar. Wasn't necessary. This was loaded with both fresh mixed berries and strawberry coulis. Best surprise was this: "What kind of syrup would you like?" "What? Um... what are the options?" "Vanilla, regular maple, maple bourbon..." "STOP! I'll have that." Definitely have that too. Delicious. My man had the Country Benedict which was smothered in sausage gravy and delicious in every way. We ordered an orange juice (not freshly squeezed - basic) and an Earl Grey tea with soy milk. Nice. In my mind, I was redecorating the place to be more inviting, and to match the level of food and service. Get rid of the harsh blue walls, add some art, take down the weird 3/4 wall in the middle of the room, equip the bathrooms with some soft touches LOL. We came for the food, and this place delivered. Maybe they want it to feel uncomfortable so you'll eat and go? We did both, and hit the road again in under 45 minutes. No complaints about that! TIP 1: Get there early to avoid unavailability of the item you want. The place gets busy! TIP 2: Bring your vegan and plant-based diners here. 4.5 stars. Waffles INCaffeinated is a local restaurant chain that has several locations in the Pittsburgh area. In the past few years, I have eaten a few meals at this location in Wexford. Please see my attached photos for the breakfast/lunch/beverage menus in July 2024. For my first visit, no tables were available on a busy Saturday, so I ordered takeout. (Tip: Through the restaurant's website, customers may join a seating queue to avoid a long wait.) My takeout food was ready after about 30 minutes. For my second and third visits, which were also on Saturday mornings, I did not have to wait for a table at all, and the seating hostesses and waitresses very promptly and kindly served me. Here are my and my husband's ratings for our foods: MegaBerry waffle - 5 stars - I have ordered this waffle twice. For both times, this waffle was topped with a generous amount of fresh strawberries, blueberries, syrup, and whipped cream. Country Benedict - 5 stars - Waffles were topped with fried chicken, sausage gravy, and "perfectly runny" eggs--a unique and tasty combination! Benny Waffle - 4 stars - My husband ordered this entree twice, and for both times, the eggs were slightly overcooked. He did like the hollandaise sauce, ham, and some crab meat. Funky Monkey waffle - 3.5 stars - This waffle was topped with chocolate, peanut butter, and bananas, and I thought that it tasted alright. Strawberry Banana Crepes - 4 stars - These crepes were covered with strawberries, bananas, cheesecake, and strawberry reduction, and I liked them. Chicken and Waffles - 4 stars - The chicken had a crispy breading and a meaty center, and the waffle was topped with pecans and some maple-butter glaze. I visited with my friend for brunch. I had a blueberry waffle and she had their BLT. My blueberry waffle had maybe eight blueberries in the whole thing. There was an upcharge for them, as well as for the whipped cream. I complained about the pitiful quantity of blueberries and the waitress did remove the charge from my bill. The waffle was good however. My friend's BLT sandwich ingredients were not evenly distributed. For instance, the sandwich was to have avocado and bacon on it. Half the sandwich had neither and half had double. She said it was just okay. I probably will not go back. read more

It's easy to accidentally drive right past this storefront tucked in a bank of business on the main drag on Perry Highway, so keep your eyes peeled. This cozy intimate breakfast joint has both indoor and outdoor seating. I took my kids here for a special occasion breakfast and enjoyed the country benefit, sacre bleu-berry as well as kids waffles with chocolate chips. Everything was incredible. There's a small outdoor seating but we opted to sit inside. Yes, per other reviews the seating was close together but not a huge issue. Why rate this a 4 star? The waffles are amazing but a bit overpriced especially with no included sides like hash browns, bacon, etc. they're extra. Omelette was fluffy and delicious, gluten free waffles with maple syrup were incredible. The side of bacon could've had a little more bacon, but it was perfectly cooked and not too fatty. Hot water for tea was not very hot, but the server did bring more. Very attentive and friendly server. Food is great. Service is below average. Ambiance is bad. We had been to the downtown location and loved it, so thought we'd check out the Waffles Inc in our neighborhood. This was during the Sunday brunch rush, so we expected it to be busy - fortunately the wait for a table wasn't long! There was no space dedicated to waiting for a table though, so it was an uncomfortable 5-10 mins. The restaurant itself is very small with patrons packed in as tight as possible. You kind of feel like you're sitting on top of the tables around you, and anytime you get up it's almost a certainty that you'll bump into others. The number of tables they fit into this small space is impressive, but it kills the ambience and creates an anxiety inducing atmosphere. I ordered the chicken and waffles. They were great and I love their unique take on this classic dish. My wife ordered the country Benedict, which she loved. And our toddler got a waffle with fruit and seemed happy with her food. And for what it's worth, not many healthy options. You can sub in egg whites on the omelets for an extra $2. The menu is heavy on food items in the "waffle with ice cream and chocolate syrup" category, a place Buddy the Elf would enjoy for sure. read more

The sausage was burnt on underside which they flipped over out of sight. Didn't know until I bit into it. Why would they serve the plate knowing it was of poor quality. After I brought it up, I had to ask for them to take it off my bill as they did not offer. Frequent customer previously, but this location is going south. Won't be back. read more

Meh. Would like to give 2.5 stars... The good: the potatoes are bomb, my husbands waffle Benedict was a hit with him but we did watch the cook put the onions on with his bare hands so...gross. The bad: I had a waffle with bananas which were way over ripe and fruit salad which was cantelope and apple slices with seeds still in them. The syrup was definitely watered down. We each had coffee. Our bill was almost $50 with tip. I know prices are rising but dang...we will stick to our local diner where we get 2 days worth of food for under $25 read more

Unexpected delight that really hit the spot on a Sunday morning for brunch. Good kitchen control on the quality of food coming out and you could see all the diners were happy to wait. Been here twice and the first time they seemed to have some wait staff issues and everything took nearly an hour to come out (our waiter was helping out from a different location), but our second trip a month later went smoothly. The lattes are in cappuccino style cups and very sweet so go with coffee and milk if you're not into the sugar rush. Our tried and true have been the Sacre Bleu-Berry for sweet and the Country Benedict for savory. Good solid waffles, great gravy with fried chicken and generous serving of green onions (less the second time, which we wish we'd asked for more - it makes a huge difference in taste!) Will warn you, somehow we always leave with our jackets smelling like fried food. Not sure if it's just the way the air ventilation works or I'm sensitive to smells, but I always have to air out my jacket afterwards for a day. Still, won't stop me from coming again. read more

Gave legit recommendations which made the visit that much more on point. Waffles are like a heavenly cloud of maple deliciousness. Super good. I had the chicken and waffles and as someone who prides themselves somewhat on being an expert on the dish, I can confidently say that theirs is really good. No bones in the chicken which is how I prefer it. The potatoes are FIREEEE so make sure you get a side of em with your meal. I don't even really like onions and peppers but the way they cook them down is UHmazing. Possibly the best part of the entire meal. I'm so sad to have to write this review but my hope is that it will get to the correct people to make change. We've been Waffles Incaffeinated customers for years-- it's our go to place when we have out of town visitors. In the past year, we cannot go anymore because our clothes WREAK of smelling like grease and food for days afterwards. The staff and quality of food is GREAT but there must be a change made to the air filtration. I have had to wash my brand new pair of pants 3 times so far and the smell is *still* not out. I really hope management can do something about the ventilation so that this is no longer an issue and we can return. It is an open kitchen design which is GREAT but I'm afraid the smell is so strong enough that it will prevent us from coming back. read more

I'm doing keto, so I ordered a crab and bacon omelette with cheese with a medium egg on top, and a side of cooked mushrooms with wilted green onion. They nailed the delivery. Big chunks of crab - it tasted smoked too! Hugged it up with a line of Frank's Red Hot sauce on one side, with the gooey (salted) egg yolk making eggy sauce on the other. Crab, bacon, cheese, with the spice and some salt and pepper? OMG was that tasty! Total fire. Best breakfast in a long time. Coffee was a high quality breakfast blend too. How do you know a place is good? When you haven't even finished your first meal and you're already planning your next visit! This was my first visit ever to a Waffles INCaffeinated, and I got to enjoy it with a rather large party on a Saturday afternoon. The manager was very helpful and accommodating! Now, for the food. My faith in humanity and homefries has been restored! (It's so easy to screw up potato, and it takes talent to make them taste amazing.) The epic homefries feature a mixture of a variety of potatoes - white, sweet, blue/purple, as well as green peppers and onions. Everything was extremely well seasoned (any more and it might be too salty), and the crispness of the potatoes was amazing. It was like eating cubed french fries or slightly more solid tater tots. Seriously, five stars for these little starches!!! Waffles, because well...they're all about the waffles. I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer variety of toppings, and had a plan going into my meal. The in-restaurant menu had more pre-made options than what was online, and greatly helped my decision process. I opted for the Sacre-Bleu-berry (blueberry waffle, peach cream cheese in the middle, and more fresh blueberries on top.) To mine, I added raspberries because all those fruits together sounded delicious, and oh yes it was! The syrup options on the table were a vanilla bean syrup (simple syrup with vanilla bean highlights), and traditional syrup. I tried both syrups, and felt the vanilla bean was perfect with just a hint of sweetness. Also, the coffee was coffee. If it's available, try a little vanilla syrup in it with your meal! I look forward to going back and trying some of the savory options like the waffle with in-house made sausage gravy and some of the chorizo waffles. read more

We've long wanted to grab a bite here. Today turned out to to be that day. First, the waffles were good. They would have been better if they were hot from the irons. The coffee was strong and a bit bitter. Kind of tasted old. The blueberries were tart. The bacon was good, despite being undercooked. Second, this place is expensive. Our breakfast for lunch was ~$40. Third, the service was not good. We asked for crisp bacon; nope. We asked for no powdered sugar on one waffle (after being asked if we wanted it); nope. The welcome was non-existent. The service was slow, ergo the not hot waffles. Little niceness until the bill was placed on the table. We will not likely return and are unlikely to recommend. read more

In town for my daughters hockey tournament, showed up with a large group. They were able to sit us immediately. The waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. My friend and I ordered a funky monkey waffle and a vegetarian delight omelette to share. The waffle wasn't overly crunchy and the omelette had such an interesting spin with spicy mayo on top. I will say, we brought three kids, so our experience might have been influenced by their patience (which can run thin some days). The service was quick, and Lauren was always available to fill the coffee. Seemingly so, a manager type was walking the restaurant ensuring everyone was taken care of, from the single man eating near the window, to our mess of a table, to the woman discussing their weekends. The price was slightly high, $6 for a kids meal, sides being $3.90+ our bill being upwards of $50 for two adults and three kids. Not somewhere we could frequent. The chicken and waffles was a large plate. The pecans were hard to add into a bite, internally they would push more flavor. This could have been something we could change but first timers never know these things. The sausage waffle wasn't a traditional type gravy and the sausage didn't match the side sausage. It wasn't the best, it definitely overpowered the waffle half I ordered. I think less could be placed on the dish to improve the plate, even more center glob instead of over the whole waffle itself. Leaving more crunchy waffle to enjoy. Both adult dishes contained onions on top, they need a different cut. The cut that was done didn't allow for it to be added to any bites in small amounts. It was stringy and brought down the dish, or was left out completely from any bites I took. Overall, something we would definitely try again, the menu is vast with tons of options and customizations. When we saw WI was coming to Wexford we were excited for it to open and try it. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. I echo what many others said in the previous reviews: sign is too small (easy to miss), smells gross when you first walk in, slow service, food takes way too long. However, I disagree on one primary thing. My husband and I were not impressed with the food. It's fair at best. I hate bad service (especially when you have to beg for drinks like we did), but there is no reason to go back when the food is average. I ordered the Southern Breakfast (waffle stuffed (or should I say contains a tiny bit of) with chorizo (Mexican sausage, which I normally love, but it didn't taste like chorizo at all so just call it sausage) and an egg. It was just ok because it only had a little bit of chorizo and the waffle just was ok. My husband had the chicken and waffles. Everyone raved about it (and he normally loves it), but did not agree. He thought the chicken was bland (and he likes plain food) and the waffle was just ok. The only good thing about this experience was the home fries. They were very good (a little too salty), but not enough to bring us back. We were happy to have another breakfast spot in Wexford. Too bad this place falls way short. The sausage gravy waffle was fantastic! Great flavor for the sausage gravy (and I'm picky about that!) and the waffle was light and crisp. The green onions on top looked a little limp and overcooked so I just moved them aside. The iced chai was also very yummy! Clean restaurant and fast service. read more

What to do on Super Bowl Sunday when the Steelers aren't in it? Head to Waffles INCaffeinated for brunch. This location is in a small strip mall - that it is literally in front of North Allegheny High School. There's a small parking lot, but we able to grab a spot. We checked the No Wait to see if there was a wait - but there wasn't so we were able to get seated right away. We arrived around 1:45pm and they are open until 3pm - so it wasn't too busy and nice and quiet. I ordered the Mega Berry waffle, my mom ordered the Breakfast Magic, my Dad order a custom waffle with apples and pecans, and we split an order of the home fries. My mom and I split our waffles down the middle. However, I enjoyed my Mega Berry waffle more. They also forget to add the whipped cream, but our waitress brought us a side of it. They have a loyalty program - so with our visits we were able to get a waffle free or $8.00 taken off the bill. Definitely a great loyalty program. I'll be back again soon. read more
