Definitely played a part in booking a room at the hard rock during a weekend getaway. Too bad Tahoe is a 3.5 hour drive from home. Ive gone to this location twice. And both times I've had to wait in line for about 30 mins. As the name suggests the spot is literally a bar. There are about 20+ seats around the bar where the staff prepare the food in front of you so a wait is expected. I hyped this spot up to my fiance and he was impressed! Well worth the wait! A staple and fan favorite of course are the oysters. Buttery and fresh. They are priced at $24/dozen My favorite item on their menu is the house pan roast ($23). I like to order it spicy with a side of rice. The level of spicy and creaminess along with the generous amounts of lobster, crab, and shrimp makes me nod my head after each and every bite. The staff do their best to accommodate everyone while making sure they get those waiting patiently in line seated at a reasonable time. Theyre open from 11am-12am on weekdays and until 2am on weekends. And they're right across from the roulette machines! Lol They provide bread as an appetizer. Both items were tasty, but if I had to say anything critical about the food we order, it would be that the shrimp boil was a tab bit under seasoned. If you're looking for a quality meal and are in the area, COME HERE! I'm not a huge fan of seafood, but I loved what I got and I recommend coming here. My friend took me here as it was my first time and I loved it. I didn't think it would be a restaurant roped off to the side inside of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, but it was a wonderful experience. There is a 20 seat seating is all around the bar. Surprisingly if there is a wait there is a roped line to wait for people to finish eating. It is first come first seating. No reservations. Come early! Their kitchen closes for lunch around 3pm and opens again around 4pm. The bar however, I was told, was still open. At least when I was there. We got here on a Saturday around 2pm and walked right on in. There were 2-3 other seats available as well. Get ready to get comfy because you will be sitting next to people that you don't know. It's quite cozy. FOOD: They start you off with water and some bread and butter while you're deciding what you want to eat. My friend ordered the platter of a dozen oysters ~$30 and the Bouillabaisse ($28) and it came with what I call "the works." It had all of the seafood they offered at the restaurant in there. It's a light but flavorful tomato based soup and it comes with a side of rice. The oysters were good and fresh. They're served over ice and with 3 different sauces: Marinara, and 2 sour ones, I forget, but I liked the purple looking one (horseradish?). I ordered and recommend the delicious House Pan Roast (shrimp, crab, chicken) with a side of sausage and bowl of rice. The rice was a bit undercooked (crunchy underdone bits) but the flavors in the House Pan Roast made me forget about it. It was loaded with plenty of protein which surprised me as I've been to pricey places that did not give as much. The soup base was a lot heavier and creamier than the bouillabaisse and it reminded me of a tomato bisque soup, which I LOVE. I couldn't believe it but I finished everything! Ooops. IT WAS THAT GOOD. I was surprised too because the bowls are large. DRINKS: I got a Moscow mule as recommended by a friend. Angelina was our server and she made my drink. I love her! Go to her! Request her! Whatever you have to do. She knows how to make a drink and a darn good one! Overall: I enjoyed my first experience. I thought it was neat how there are a line of individual pots in which your food is made, right in front of you (if you're sitting in the front). My friend and I lingered around here for over an hour. They were closing so they didn't let anyone else in for the time being. While finishing our drinks, I just watched them make the food for others. YES, I would come back again. Can't wait to taste that pan roast again! read more

This place is bomb.com. All the workers were personable but our waitress, Tram, made our experience at the Oyster Bar worthwhile. Now only if customer service like she gave could be duplicated, very unlikely. The food was delicious and amazing! The Oyster Bar is not a huge spot but we loved it because it was cozy and intimate. Things have changed due to the Covid outbreak and things slowly opening. We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel hoping to have dinner here, but no luck. Their seating is very limited and there is always a line for dinner. We met a couple in line that took uber here that called in advanced to see if they would be able to get seated. When they arrived, they were turned away. They spoke to the manager and asked them to come back another day. A good customer service would have given them some kind of voucher. The food here is really good and I'm hoping to get a seat before leaving the hotel on our way back home. If you ever get seated, the food selection for seafood eaters are very good. Came here later at night to get a bite. Showed up over an hour before they closed. When we sat down, the bar was full. Waited roughly 25-30 min to order our food after we ordered our drinks. We ordered a dozen raw oysters, steamed mussels, and shrimp cocktail. Every. Oyster. Had. Shell. Fragments. In. It. Not a great start. I get maybe one or two having a bit of shell but this was every single f*cking one. The shrimp cocktail was fair but the shrimp were a bit waterlogged from being cooked and on ice all day. The mussels were really timid and were not worth finishing. The staff was more concerned with trying to clean up than serving. My family and I came here on New Year's Eve Eve after spotting the place the day before while exploring South Lake Tahoe. We ordered two orders of steamed clams, a dozen oysters, the bouillabaisse, and the house boil. We also ordered Chardonnay for my mom and two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc for myself and boyfriend. I had the latter, and it was yummy. Steamed clams were yummy. Broth was good! I dipped bread and butter into it. I've had better broth, but it was delicious nonetheless. Although... I have to say we ended up with one clam filled with sand, but that's hard to spot so I wasn't too disappointed. The bouillabaisse (tomato based sauce) was filled with lobster, shrimp, crab, clams, mussels, and fish. I loved everything except the fish, partly because I think it's a space filler. The bouillabaisse sauce was good by itself, but we were switching between it and white wine sauce from the steamed clams so it kind of took away from the flavor. The best flavor for me came from the house boil which also had a combination of seafood items. I loved the sauce in this dish and dipped my bread in it. The potato and sausage were average but the seafood was great. Most people had a bowl to themselves but we did everything family style. Everything was great! I'd be back! We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. There were only two people working. It looked like the main cook and a sous chef who also bussed the tables and sat people. This is a very very very small spot. Sits maybe 12-14 people max so expect to wait. It's right on the casino floor and all that separates you and the people walking through the casino is a thin rope. The food honestly was not as good as I expected for this type of place. We got the oysters and the shrimp cocktail. The cocktail was not very good it was very plain, and same with the oysters. Also while you're eating you are sitting watching them cook. The environment was pretty messy and it didn't seem that sanitary. We were planning on tasting the clam chowder but the wait time seemed extremely long and then the workers noticed the pot holding the clam chowder wasn't on so a lot of people received cold clam chowder. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place for the price. I'm sure there are much better places to eat. read more

Only three parties at the bar at a time due to limits and all the staff are wearing masks and taking great care in sanitizing. Went there midweek around 6:00 PM, waited couple minutes before seated. Just keep that in mind, there is always a line on weekends and busier hours. No tables just bar seats, and it's right next to gambling area, I don't mind either but some people might do. I ordered Shrimp Louie Salad, peel and eat shrimp, gumbo and pan lobster. Didn't really care for peel and eat shrimp, gumbo was alright. Liked the salad and Pan Lobster very much. They are cooking and preparing everything in front of you so that's always nice.
