To me I'm not sure what part came in a Pan or what was Roasted but it tasted like the best Lobster Bisque I've ever had. I know they make it a special way, possibly double boilers. We decided to SPLIT a shrimp louis salad to start, WHOAH! It was huge with no less than a dozen large shrimp - tossed with an awesome house-made dressing, boiled eggs, tomatos, etc.... I had the gumbo. Again LOTS of shrimp and perfectly spiced with lots of andouie and okra. What a hidden gem! I'm so glad we didn't get discouraged with the line. Not only is the food fresh and delicious but the service is one of the best we have experienced in a long time. Kyle and his staff went above our expectations, not only did he make sure he found something delicious for me to eat ( I'm allergic to shellfish) but he made sure to keep my dishes always from shellfish. My husband had the bouillabaisse, he said it was the best seafood soup he had ever had. I had the jambalaya the added extra chicken and sausage since I can't have shrimp. The cesar salad was so fresh and the right amount of dressing. This place gets a little loud since the slot machines are near, they tend to get busy but it's worth the wait. This is located inside the Hard Rock Cafe. It is a bar with about 12 seats. We came on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and there were 3 couples seated so we were able to get right in. The food is 5 stars. I had a Shrimp Louie Salad that could feed 2 people. Plus instead of those little baby shrimp, it came with 9 grilled large shrimp. I asked for it tossed but you can get the dressing on the side. My husband ordered the Cioppino and we added lobster. The broth was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this dish. It came with bread as well. It is not on the menu, but you can order a small bowl of clam chowder for $5. It has great flavor as well. Honestly all the food looked delicious. They have the seafood chilled and as you place an order it is cooked in front of you. Nathan was our cook that day and he was very nice and professional, 5 stars for Nathan! Oh and he loves Motley Crue! LOL Kyle was the main person manning the bar, however a few of us were frustrated with him. One of the couples sitting at the bar were talking to him about baseball. Omg their Caesar salad (with lump crab) is so yummy!! They pile huge amounts of crab on salad that has the perfect amount of delicious dressing (I'm picky about my Caesar dressing, at home I make my own). I feel like either this place is really overhyped or I just don't care for bouillabaisse. I do know that I love gumbo but the gumbo here was watery and had a weird aftertaste. Super sad when Hard Rock Cafe closed down because The Oyster Bar was one of our go to places for lunch or dinner during our visits to Lake Tahoe. During our recent visit hubby suggested we go to The Oyster bar and mentioned how he noticed was still open when he went to gamble the evening before! I was super duper excited and said how I thought was closed down and happy to know still in business! We have been regulars here often since they first opened and I usually order the crab Louie salad and clam chowder. Always grateful for the bread rolls with butter to enjoy before our meal arrives. There was only one couple ahead of us waiting in line and we were able to be seated within a few minutes. We usually try to arrive before 5pm for dinner so that the wait isn't too long and we normally get seated fairly quickly. I was a bit disappointed during this visit as the Clam chowder was very thick and more like a stew than a soup. The salad also was dry and needed to be tossed with more dressing. Hubby enjoyed his meal and was surprised I didn't finish my meal like I usually do. Could be just an off moment with the food preparation and will surely continue to dine here and perhaps start to explore some of the other yummy choices on the menu going forward. read more
