Worse off, I started noticing money was going missing from my wallet so I set up a webcam and caught the construction company's grounds keeper breaking and entering to steal my money. Caught in 4k. My entire transfer process has been extremely frustrating, and I place the blame on the leasing office, with the exception of Keith, who has been the only consistently helpful person throughout this experience. I have emailed my concerns multiple times and rarely receive responses. I have called numerous times which all calls are recorded and they have for reference for updates on my transfer because no one seemed to know what was going on. I was repeatedly misinformed, then overcharged, and ultimately moved into an apartment that was not ready, despite the website listing it as "available now." The unit had been selected weeks prior, yet it appears maintenance was never notified, because on the day of my transfer the apartment was far from clean. A closet door was missing, the unit wasn't fully punched, and it was clear it shouldn't have been approved for move-in. After nearly 10 emails with no response, I finally heard from Brettany after I reached out again on Friday night, but even since then I've been overcharged again and there is still no sense of urgency or effort to properly resolve these issues. On top of that, I am now being told I will be charged for a carpet replacement due to another tenant's pet damage--despite the assistant manager, Deandre, acknowledging that the previous resident was already charged for a pet treatment and carpet cleaning. The carpet should have been replaced at that time, not pushed onto me when my pet has never so much as had an accident in the unit, nor has my apartment ever smelled like an animal. This entire experience has been a complete mess, and it's extremely disappointing. Everyone in that office, aside from Keith, needs customer service training and a better understanding of how resident experience impacts retention. There are far too many apartments in this area for residents to be treated this way. As I do understand its almost the holidays and people are just trying to get through the days, that doesn't mean you ruin someone else experience or way of living or play with people MONEY because its not urgent to you!

Leasing staff are all super nice. They've recently had some changes with their phone system so if you're trying to lease here and are getting frustrated with contacting via email, please give them a break. They're equally as frustrated but when you connect with them they will give you a great experience. The amenities are very glamorous. HUGE pool and pool deck which does get very busy in the summer. There are a ton of non-residents but everyone is really friendly so I haven't been bothered by the non-residents hanging around. Great gym, lots of equipment and space so crowding is rare. Towards the end of 2023 The Apartment Life team put on some awesome resident parties. I made some great friends and the turn out is always really great. There is a lot of thoughtfulness that goes into each event and those details really shine. Neighbors are very quiet and I hardly ever cross paths with anyone in the hallways. Elevators always work unless it's a moving day in which everyone should pay attention to the concierge notifications for their local elevator reservation times. There are a fair amount of homeless that wander out on the boulevard but they've never bothered me... I also have a bigger dog so that could be why. All in all I've 100% decided to renew my lease because I cannot imagine having a better experience anywhere else. I moved here from Dallas never stepping foot in NC and this community was the best choice considering the close walking proximity to work, bars, restaurants, and the light rail literally attached to the leasing office makes for easy commute to NoDa and Southend.

On Juneteenth, they closed the office with no warning, despite the website listing them as open. That's typical -- they don't communicate website outages, updates, or emergencies. One month, they double-charged residents for rent without warning, and when I approached the manager about being charged twice, he acted like it was my fault. The condition of the property is awful. The buildings are run down and gross. All of the stairwells are disgusting and constantly smell like urine. The courtyards are neglected, overgrown, and never cleaned. The outdoor grills -- a so-called "amenity" -- have never worked the entire time I've lived here. Most of the exterior-facing doors are broken, which is a major safety issue. I've heard multiple reports of cars being broken into or stolen, and nothing is ever done about it. The mailroom is a mess. Packages pile up in unsorted, chaotic stacks, making it easy for theft to happen -- and I've personally had three packages stolen. Management doesn't care and offers no help or solutions. Maintenance is a nightmare. Despite having a full team, only two employees seem to actually do any work. One is kind, but speaks no English, which makes explaining issues nearly impossible. I've had constant maintenance problems -- I'm submitting requests every month. My dishwasher is so old, mildewed, and moldy that it's unusable, and they refuse to replace it. My closet racks are broken, and the windows and doors are so poorly sealed that I can feel a literal breeze when standing near them. Other so-called "luxury" apartments host events and create a welcoming environment -- not here. Instead, you'll find rude, aggressive residents. There is a private parking deck for their residents. The apartment I viewed was spacious and clean. It's within walking distance to a lot of restaurants. If you are looking for an apartment in Southpark, this seems like a very nice place to live.
