I've come here for my birthday. I already have plans for a visit when my family gets here in two weeks. Obviously, the food is phenomenal. I usually get Art's Famous Fried Chicken, which they say is Buttermilk-brined for 24 hours then and then flash fried. I have a severe shellfish allergy, and they're always very cautious. No matter who the server or floor manager is. Typically, it's served with creamy mashed potatoes, but I usually swap it out with Momma's Mac and Cheese. I've also had the Smothered Chicken, Bee Haven Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Skilled-fried Chicken Paillard, which is what most of the staff recommends as their favorite dish. And you always have to get a cheddar drop biscuit. That's a non-negotiable. This restaurant is very popular and often gets quite busy, so I recommend to make a reservation as soon as you're ready. But the busyness of the restaurant won't matter once you take a bite. The food is the ambiance and changes everything. Just trust me.

They treat you like you're an old time friend even if it's your first time there. The appetizers (deviled egg and hush puppies) were great. The fried chicken, which they're known for, was very disappointing. It was one of the driest fried chicken I've had in a while. The biscuit side was also very mid. Overall, I do recommend trying this place out, but skip their fried chicken (unless you just love chicken).

If you are into nostalgia or just have fond memories of the comfort of grandma's house & old school family dinners, definitely make a reservation ASAP. Plan ahead, as the waitlist can be loooong. We made this rsvp a month beforehand. We plan our rides and meals carefully to maximize our Disney experience. If we are in Hollywood studios, we like to take a breather from the high energy rides and heat to fuel up well. This day our favorite cast member here waiter Dan was there to provide his unique fun brand of entertainment humor again. We love the role play! The food is tasty with great homey offerings for everyone! Hubby loves the PB & J shake, I go for classic chocolate shake, it's like soft serve ice cream. Th kids love the chicken pot pie, a great rendition. Hubby likes fried chicken, I go for a healthy Ceasar salad topped with grilled salmon. Great kids menu (obvi!) and terrific drinks! The decor is old school American 50's/60's hometown, TV plays good old classics like leave it to beaver, etc. It just feels wonderful! Thanks, Disney for spreading the nostalgia love. Happy Days are here again and We'll be back again and again. Thanks for following me, Happy Summer 2026! ~Tami in Miami

My husband and I…read moresigned up for the Lion King dinner event that ran on Monday 6/24 and Tuesday 6/25 this year. Customer Service: Everything went smoothly from making the reservation to the reminder message prior to the event. They asked us if we had any allergies upon making the reservation and then checked back in again about this as the event got closer (you never know if an allergy will pop up). When we came to the Golden Oaks gate, they had our names on a list and it was very easy to get through and over to the restaurant. We were greeted by a very warm group of Disney employees who seemed to have choreographed our reception from the "Welcome" to the cocktails they put in our hands. Throughout the entire night the service was perfectly coordinated down to placing meals in front of us all at the same time. It was michelin-star style service for sure. There were Disney interns from Namibia and Tanzania who were there to educate and answer questions diners had about their countries- that was probably my favorite part as someone who really likes geography, history and culture. Venue: Picture Italian-style wine cellar. Very beautiful venue with inviting ambiance! Food and wine: The dishes served retold parts of the Lion King movie with some dishes representing characters (but nothing like "now, you are eating Pumba..." that would have just been awkward, lol) Every dish was explained by the chef who designed the meal. The food was very creative but the only bit of constructive feedback I have is that the ingredients could have been much more fresh. We didn't feel too hot after the meal and sometimes freshness of ingredients really helps with that after-effect you get from a big feast. We had some really cool African wines and a delicious coffee liquor at the very end which I would have over and over if I could. Over all, this event was a highly coordinated, creative and memorable experience! I would recommend going to a delicious dining event at least once!

This year, the Walt Disney World Resort chefs launched a new dinner series to showcase the talents of the culinary team featuring unique creations and wine pairings. Continuing throughout 2017, "Delicious Disney, A Chef Series" features storytelling with food. These dinners allow guests to experience exceptional cuisine in an atmosphere of pure Disney magic. Last week we experienced an incredible five-course wine dinner in celebration of Ratatouille's 10th anniversary. French-themed of course, the evening started with a French 75 and ended with a hand-painted, white chocolate Remy! One of Disney's best qualities - attention to detail - is on full display during these events. Don't miss your chance to dine inside Golden Oak and enjoy a memorable evening full of incredible cuisine and wine pairings. Here's a little taste of what we experienced during our dinner! We started off the evening with a beautiful French 75 and hors d'oeuvres before being seated in the main dining room. Accompanied by Canard-Duchêne Champagne, our first course was a delicate roasted mushroom with cheese and a rosemary espuma. These food-friendly bubbles were the perfect accessory to our Amuse-Bouche. Next up, potato-leek soup paired with Domaine Louis Moreau "Vaillons", Chablis 1er Cru. A lovely pairing and one of my favorite wines from the evening - I'll take a whole case please! We then moved to Hokkaido scallops with artichoke, baby leek and caviar. Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc was poured for yet another fabulous pairing. For the last course pre-dessert we had Colorado Lamb with (of course) Ratatouille. The true star of the dinner in multiple ways, this authentic accompaniment was stellar. As expected, the 2009 Château Lagrange, Saint-Julien was a treat to experience! In true Disney style we ended the meal with an impressive dessert adorned with a chocolate laced Eiffel Towel. And to really outdo themselves, a surprise dessert was brought out, which included a hand-painted white chocolate Remy which was presented in a dramatic fashion across the dining room. The Sauternes was then poured and the fun continued throughout the final course. If you haven't experienced the finer side of Disney dining yet, you're missing out on one of The City Beautiful's culinary gems!

Inside feels like you've been transported to to an outdoor movie theater. It's dark with little lights inside car-tables lined up around a giant screen showing different Sci-Fi shorts. All of them are quick so you don't have to worry if they show something you don't care for. They also even have little speakers that play the music, just like they would have in a drive in back in the day. I saw set ups for bigger parties but I feel like two people get the best set up because they get to sit like they're in a car. There are tables at the back not in cars so they can be used for handicap seating. I wasn't able to book us all at the same time, but I do know I booked my mom a handicap seat and she was able to be accommodated. I will say you book this more for the ambiance than the food. The food itself is ok and there are plenty of things that looked interesting to try, but I haven't ended up liking much of what I've gotten here. Sadly they removed my favorite thing, the cheese steak sandwich. I know I know the menu will change but I genuinely thought that was a classic that would stay so I was bummed. I did like the milkshake we got this time and my sandwich was decent but it was a holiday event special so I doubt I'll see it again either. Ah well, this is one of the more interesting places to eat here so we will likely be back. Loved: - Milkshake: Oreo - Sandwich: The Cheese Steak (extra cheese) Liked: - Sandwich: Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu - Sides: Fries Ok: - Burger: Classic American (medium) Disliked: - Pasta: Chicken

The food was pretty good and portions were large. The prices were not bad for being inside Disney. The staff were very nice, accommodating and friendly. My impossible burger was delicious and my husband's salad was excellent! We were stuffed and couldn't finish our food! Only complaint: Our waiter tended to vanish and after waiting 15 mins I ventured out to find him chatting with other servers in the kitchen while we sat around after eating, waiting for the check. Looked like he lost track of time chit chatting but we wanted to get back to the park, not waste time waiting forever for a check. The place was busy and I'd imagine those waiting were hoping for the tables to be turned around in a timely manner as well. I'd def give it a try! We could have easily shared the salad between us. Impossible burger meal was def shareable as well.

This place is always packed, and for good reason as the food is legit, the cocktail list is solid, and they somehow keep the line moving even when it's slammed so props for that. We went with the Butcher Board, which is listed as serving 2 but easily fed our entire family of four including my wife and our kiddos which makes it a great value for what you get. The brisket was the standout for me, followed closely by the pulled pork. The chicken and sausage held their own too. Honestly nothing on the board disappointed. The beer selection also surprised me in the best way -- not your typical theme park watered-down options. One heads up for first-timers: order before you find a table. We made the mistake of doing it the other way around and were pretty firmly told we couldn't sit until we had ordered. I get it as it's how they manage flow but if you don't know the rule going in, it feels a little abrupt when you're just trying to wrangle your family in a crowded dining room. Overall, The Polite Pig is a clutch spot. We will be back!
