Walked into this dive to meet a class of tour guides to explore the Quarter. The Christmas music was blaring as I walked in, and one of the regulars was belting out the song better than Mariah Carey. There was one bartender and just a handful of others that night, but it was a random Wednesday in December, so I wouldn't have expected too much at that early-ish hour. Once we all got there and had ordered a couple of drinks, we were able to meet the bar manager/owner who told us the history of the building and all of its incantations before becoming what it currently is. It was fascinating to hear about the 300 years of evolution that the building has gone through, and the staff there was so much fun to talk to and learn from. Also, as I would hope for most dives - the drinks were strong and plentiful. It was a great way to start out our evening. read more

Visiting during Red Dress Run (08/2023) is an adventure. I have been to this location before (during a Bachelor Party trip, though my memory is unclear lol). From my limited memory, it was a good time and the drinks were easy to obtain. I can only comment on my current LUCID memory of the bar service this time and it was SLOOOOOWWWWW. I think it was probably 25 minutes to get a beer and a simple, one-liquor mixed drink. Needless to say, we only ordered once. I watched one bar tender consistently look over my friend who is a 6-3, 250 lb. man right in front of him. He didn't serve us until a fellow patron pointed to us and the bartender had no other choice but to serve us. I am looking forward to giving them another opportunity to wow me because this one did not achieve the level of service they aim to achieve. read more

My husband and I ducked in here to catch the last quarter of the Saints game. We peeked in to find a big TV and a nice breeze from the ceiling fan. Receiving a welcoming, "come on in" we did. And though we were the only straight white faces in the place we were given touch down shots and treated with the perfect southern hospitality we have received throughout NOLA. I chatted with a regular for some time, and when the game ended, the proprietor, Willie came over for a visit. We had a great afternoon, though the strong drinks and the shots got the best of us! We are excited for Willie's move to a much bigger spot on Bourbon and St Anne in the coming months and hope his move brings great success. We were happy to support this business at first. The first night we purchased drinks for 4 several times. The cost was the same each time. We then went back the next day grabbed more drinks paying the same price as the night before. After leaving for a bit to attend the parade we went back for a refill. Things went downhill from here. We get the "assistant manager" as a bartender. He's being rude and arrogant as he serves people just walking up to the bar all while purposely overlooking people standing there for longer periods of time. After waiting excessively my cousin orders 3 Margaritas. I asked for a SPLASH of Grand Marnier. It came at an additional cost which was ok. When I asked how much the bartender said with sass.... $21. At this point I'm disappointed at the rip off. I KNOW THIS IS A DIFFERENT PRICE FROM WHAT I PAID FOR THE PAST 2 days. Not to mention a shot wouldn't have cost this much. The bartender with the locs was the worst. Bare in mind He was tipped $10 for these making drinks. They weren't event well made. I reapproached the bar to speak with the owner. He walked over to the scaming bartender instead looked directly at me as he talked to him. Then he walked over to me and I asked the owner for a moment of his time. I was hoping to briefly inform him of what happened. Unfortunately, instead of taking time to hear what his staff was doing to his patreons he told me NOT RIGHT NOW. I can only deduce that he's in on the scam. The Irish pub up the street offered better service and better drinks. Meanwhile cochroaches were running all over the floor. Please use the scam money to call the orkin man. Never again. read more

Great place to watch the Saints game! Fairly priced drinks and strong...not watered down. They even have food. A spread from pasta and fried fish etc. Perfect neighborhood bar. The crowd picks up after midnight or so. A small dance floor in the back to cut a rug. read more

I had just settled into my hotel, heard this was a cool spot to check out. I had to drinks and then the bartender tells me I am "drunk" and refuses service. Mind you I was sitting at the bar literally just having a conversation with a friend. At that point I left and was immediately served at other places with NO hassle. I will never go back to this place with watered down drinks and rude staff from the owner to the bartender. I have been to New Orleans many times and never experienced anything like this. My first time to The PAGE was awesome! It will definitely go down as my top pick Gay bar in New Orleans the next time that I visit. My friends and I were exploring different things on Bourbon street prior to our visit and found the "gay section" of the street really didn't offer much and the vibe was just off per say.. Now I know a great gay bar/club when I see one thanks to living in Atlanta, GA for a few years. Hard to compare actually but what I will say is that this is as good as it gets! When walking in you will notice that they do charge a $5 cover but it's absolutely worth it! CASH ONLY as most of the places are down in this area of town so be prepared on that piece of things. On both nights we visited (Friday & Saturday) the place was PACKED! It's a smaller venue so do know that the ability to maneuver through the crowd get's less and less easier as the night progresses. Lines for the bathrooms can be crazy since there are only two lol anyways it's a good packed at that though with cool people! They play some really good R&B/Rap music so giving you that umm "urban" feel if you catch my drift. Needless to say that we had a blast from being able to enjoy not only the music but the great hospitality from the staff working! The bartender we had on both nights was awesome and I must say that they most definitely give you a great pour he-he. You can easily spend hours here like we did so do yourself a favor and head on down to THE PAGE! read more

I visit New Orleans a lot and always go to this bar. There's this cute bartender with dreads (Daz). I always go to him to make my drinks. Last time I was here I found out he's the new manager and doesn't bartend as much so I'll go to the other cutie Josh. But Daz makes the best drinks IMO. If he's there and not bartending he'll get behind the bar and make your drink if you ask. About the bar. It's small but a great time. There's a DJ that plays a mix of good music. I love when he plays their local bounce music. All the boys start bouncing and spinning their butts like nothing you've ever seen before. There is a $5 cover but well worth it and the drinks aren't expensive at all. So if you're in town and looking for a cool place to have a great time check them out. I've been to a fair amount of gay bars, and there are some that are welcoming of all people, and there are some that are not as much. Thankfully, this one is a welcoming bar. Everyone is really nice and friendly. Its not scene-y at all. It has a very relaxed atmosphere where I know I can get a drink with a few friends and have a good calm time. The bartender is really nice about changing the tv's to what ever you (or most people) want to watch. They do something special with every Saints game, but I forgot what is is. I stuck to beer that night, so I have no idea how the pour is on the cocktails, but the beer was decently priced. They charged my card to debit, so I don't know if they take credit cards. Pro-tip: there's no sign out front, so just know its the corner bar at Rampart and Toulouse. read more

I agree with reviewer Vicky, this is a welcoming bar. For the most part, the clientele is nice, friendly and chatty. The bartender was really cool, struck up a decent conversation, and was some nice eye candy. I as well stuck to beer so I cannot comment on the pour of the drinks, but the Corona that I had was cold and relatively inexpensive. And yes, at the time I went there is no sign outside, but it is directly on the corner of Rampart and Toulouse. read more

We stopped in early on a Friday evening. The place was dead, but they were playing some decent old school tunes so we stayed for a drink. We didn't get the "welcoming" feel as some others said they experienced. However, I figured maybe it was because I walked into the spot with a group of white folks, but I can tell the place had potential. We decided to try it again on Saturday during the Pride parade. It was bumping! Unfortunately not in a good way, there was a huge group outside of the bar because a fight broke out. When we first pulled up to this location we had to double check we had arrived at our intended destination. It doesn't look like much on the outside, inside you will find an employee collecting the $5 entry fee as well as a long bar with stools. Towards the back there is room to dance and party the night away. We went on Friday night around 10PM and were informed that it was a little early for New Orleans party seen, around midnight the crowd started arriving and everyone was welcoming and danced and talked with everyone. The drinks weren't that expensive at all and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. Last but definitely not least the DJ was spinning al the hits we had a great time. read more
