After 4 months of not getting any help(pain continued) changed Pain Clinics and within 1 hour was diagnosed what the problem was, series of appointments set up, problem solved . I started a couple of years back. I must say my initial impression of the operation was poor based on the help I received from one of the NP's, Chris. I shortly afterward actually met with Dr. Siwek, Jr. He's a good doctor, knowledgeable and good at explaining options and treatments. The whole good nature of his practice goes completely down the tubes when it comes to communicating with this operation. No matter when you call, you are going to be on hold anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Then you are greeted by the unfriendliest of receptionists, who can't wait to pass you onto yet another line, where you'll wait another 20 minutes before you'll get disconnected. And when you choose the option of leaving a message to "save your place in line," you'll also never hear back from them. Also, the party that sets the appointments showed little empathy for me (can only assume all folks get the same treatment) having to wait 6 weeks in strong pain to get into see anyone in any of their offices. Siwek Sr. needs to either hire more people, and/or find someone to better train his existing employees to remember who his patients are - people in pain! read more

I am very disappointed with the pain center of Arizona. My very first appointment was scheduled when I was in the hospital. I don't know why Dr Jones wrote a prescription for opiates because when I went back after the emergency room visit I just had, Jennifer told me that they did not have an opiate base management there. So I don't know what pain management could be at that practice. I got two shots in my T12 and I've had a bad reaction. The procedure was actually done at Banner University Hospital in Phoenix. Just like previous patients, I encountered a rude, condescending, bitter tiny receptionist. I said hello because she obviously wasn't going to greet me. She was in the middle of a funny gossip fest with her coworker. Turned to look at me with no greeting after mine, and changing her expression to a very serious angry face, she said: name. I answered with a smile to show that I wasn't there to upset her very sad low life. As she checked my name in, she turned to her coworker again and it was instant smile and gossip about her situation. Again turns to me, flat angry face because I obviously interrupted her gossip time, hands me a clip board and with no further words, turns back to her story. I, being a client of over 2 years already know I have to fill out paperwork. But, if I was a new client, I would have been mad with the service. Thankfully my physician is great and friendly and caring. On my way out I made sure I walked over to the other coworker, with glasses, she was friendlier and at least said thank you to me when I handed over the clip board. She even asked questions for follow ups and wished me a good day. Now, even though she was the one talking with the rude unprofessional one before, at least she did her job when approached. I should give it less stars, but like I said, Todd is great. The other Doctor rushes you too much but Todd is on it. After 2 years, gota pick my battles. read more

I don't have a problem with some of the care givers but if you ever need to reach The Pain Center via phone for any reason, plan on staying on hold for at least a couple hours. Don't opt for the call back. You will never receive one. ** Update** I called at 7:21a.m. because my refill was not sent to my pharmacy after my appointment. It is 10:56 now, still on hold. This was my second call. The 1st was to request a call back at 7a.m.. The message said I wouldn't lose my place in line. Very disappointed in the office staff, PA's, and doctor. Poor communication, consideration, and respect towards patients. Medicare billed practice over $30,000.00 for injections that changed nothing. Doctor had no concern or interaction with me. My follow up appt. was scheduled for 10:15. I arrived at 10:05 and was told I had a 15 minute wait. Between 10:20 and 11:30 I was told three times it would be another 15 minutes. At 11:30 I told a staffer due my back pain I could not wait any longer. The medical staff is always friendly, and respectful. They make you feel welcomed, and comfortable. Dr. Hair, whom I've seen for years, does his best to manage my pain within his capabilities. He's been willing to make changes when necessary and try new modalities, which has been both helpful, and beneficial for me. He's also very nice and respectful. I feel valued and cared for. Additionally, I've seen Dr. Siwek. He's kind and gentle in his approach to giving procedures. I feel safe in his care. The other Dr has seen me on occasion and she is also very kind and caring. I have extreme chronic pain so unless I get surgery I must do semi-annual or annual management so I can walk. My healthcare has changed who is in my network and because of location was pushed into going to the Pain Center of Arizona West Phoenix. In my 62 years I have never experienced more horrible people. They are rude, and disrespectful, and enjoy making you wait or making everything so excruciatingly difficult to get I would give them -5 if I could. Getting someone on the phone takes about 30 minutes to an hour. To get treatment like injections, ablations, etc 3+ hour wait, and to see a doctor over an hour. I complained and this is what I was told by a doctor, "You just have to wait here. That is how we work. If you don't like waiting then go somewhere else." So I did. Now I am so happy I never have to talk to anyone who works there whether a doctor, receptionist, or Deanna, I don't know what she does but she is the worst, and, I never have to be angry again. As soon as you walk in the door they greet you with a smile! They speak to you like you are their friend, and that makes me feel comfortable. Rude front desk staff. They definitely need customer service training. I brought my dad in for an appointment. They don't even look up when they're talking to you and when you're telling them what's going on they're not even empathetic or show compassion to what the issue is. They need to understand the people that they're dealing with is in a lot of pain and don't need to make it any diffulcult by being rude. In addition, the wait times in between procedures can be 5-6 weeks, when the doctor wants you back in 3 weeks, for the next procedure. I have been going to the Pain center since Dr. Burgher was one of the doctors who is no longer there. I have seen 3 Dr. in this office They schedule me to see Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones was working out of the Peoria office now he works out of both. Well, with my insurance you have to be specific of what you want. In network or out of network per your insurance. Dr. Jones has two offices one in Peoria, and the one on Thomas Road which is also in network but the catch is he has a second office In that same building that is out of network which charges your deductible and they don't tell you until you get to the office. As a new patient for physical therapy, I was treated like a criminal and violated by the staff and Dr Ramoun Jones. After refusing to answer irrelevant questions such as: "How often have you been sexually abused?", "How often have you been arrested?", " How often have you attended AA or NA meetings?" I was confused and asked the doctor what this had to do with receiving physical therapy if I'm not requesting medication at all. He promptly stood up and said to me, "Honey I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." Speechless, I walked out and left the building. Apparantly, they prefer clients that are so desperate for drugs that they follow orders and don't ask questions. Shameful. Disgusting. Inhumane. At my doctor's request i went to The Pain Center on 9350 West Thomas Road. I was seen by a doctor who was indifferent but seemed to know i was in enough pain to require pain medication along with a suggested plan for future visits so i thought i was on the right track. My second appointment was supposed to be in person but due to paranoia they turned it into a Telemed visit. I was in front of my computer ready for the Telemed visit early and the time came and went with no contact from The Pain Center. At this time i was out of medication also. I contacted them and no one returned my call until the next day. I was told i could not have a refill prescription until i was on a Telemed visit so i scheduled another one for this last Tuesday at 8am. Again, i was forgotten and no one bothered to contact me until i tore them to shreds with a scathing e-mail. On my second appointment they also called my manager and asked him if i was going to keep my appointment, i had the day off and my manager knew nothing about me going to a pain facility, he does now since they divulged my personal information to him. This is a very unprofessional uncaring place to go if you are in pain. I am in horrible pain but i now have to wait until my first visit to another pain facility who i hope is better than this one. If i could give less than 1 star, i would. The only reason I am giving 1 star is because 0 isn't an option. If you have acute pain do not go to the pain center. My husband had major surgery from which he is still recovering and we were looking for pain management options. The nurse practitioner Jennifer E did not want to see operative reports or image reports. She was not interested in what surgery my husband had done or what he was recovering from. She spoke down to us during the appointment. She would leave the room to consult with a 'dr' that we never saw or consulted with. She told my husband he would always have chronic pain and immediately tried to upsell us to have a spinal cord implant procedure done. After 2 hours at the office we were left to wait for paperwork in the overcrowded lobby. When my husband, who is recovering from major surgery, tried to sit down to wait for follow up paperwork a security guard told him he had to move because he was in 'his' chair. We have since gone to a different pain management doctor for a second opinion where we actually got to see a dr who read surgical reports and viewed xrays and ct scans before making a diagnosis. I would avoid the pain center at all costs. read more

I come with pin and to sit and wait for over an hour is insane! This is my second visit here and the wait each time has been ridiculous. An hour plus waiting just for a 15-20 min visit. It does not make any sense. There is no communication between the nurses and patients. They will apologize but that does nothing because it was the same exact experience the second time. They experience here does not feel like they care about you at all. They are busy and trying to get patients in and out but this is not the way to treat a patient in pain. What can be said about first impressions? THEY ARE CRITICAL. When I walked in I was Covid screened by a very pleasant yet professional assistant. I was then instructed to check in at the "middle window" where I stood while the receptionist continued what she was doing for quite some time. I then said " am I at the correct place to check in?" and she replied "yes" and continued with her entering of data and chattering with a coworker. Hey, I get it but a simple " Good morning, I'll be right with you" would have been the proper way to handle this. I was very close to walking out and never returning. Happily I did today the receptionist had not improved her people skills and I waited over one hour to be seen which was ridiculous since I had first appointment. Once I was in procedure area life was good, everyone was exceptional, welcoming, yet professional. After procedure which doctors were careful to make sure it was as painless as possible I was led to sit in a recovery area and the assistant there I believe her name was Shy was amazing, going from patient to patient checking blood pressure etc. The concern she showed the patients was heartwarming. If it were not for front end being so unprofessional I would definitely rate a 5 star. read more

This clinic refused to give me meds because I was once dependent on a medication almost fifteen years ago!!! The doctor told me that he would, but the PA changed his mind. My mom has been going there for a long time. The front desk staff is horrible, They dont know what they are doing, They try to collect more co-payment at the last minute. she have been going there and her co-payment has always been 30, today they tried to collect 75. The whole point is if my copayment is 75 they should of caught in the the past months and charging her the wrong amount this whole time. I dont mind paying the 75.00 even know my insurance card says 30.00. When you try to speak up and complain the front desk staff gets very nasty with you. They try to speak over you so you got to speak louder. Then they refuse to see you after you complain. This is not how a practice should work. They should check and verify every patients co-payments before they come in. People on Social security like to plan there checks so when they pull a fast one on there customers is completely wrong. Give the consumer the real copays in advance so they dont waste time. These doctors talk about other patients in front of other patients which is against HIPPA Law. Stay away from this place and stay away from Doctor Jones. Then there customer relations lie to you and saying they will find a resolution and they call you and say theres nothing we can do.
