Got my car done across the street so I decided to have some breakfast to kill the time. I ordered the blueberry pancake with sausage and a side of hash browns. Also got me some freshly squeezed orange juice that was delicious The pancake was huge as the plate . It was full of blueberries. I enjoyed my breakfast. I was full with the hash browns and sausage I didn't even finish the pancake. I highly recommend this place. I got here early but by the time I left it was packed. I was expecting to rip this place. Their phones literally don't work, reviews seem inflated, and they have multiple locations. Pulling up to the back I was hit in the face with the stench of the cook's cigarettes which was quite unappetizing. I got a breakfast burrito and a side of fruit seeking redemption from the trash Quesadilla Louises "Lowsy" Pantry served. To start off the cup of fruit, not pictured, was delicious. A side of fruit is such a nonchalant item but each fruit was juicy and refreshing. The burrito itself was fantastic it was tight and the outer most part was a thin but great layer of cheese. First time here, came with local family. Whatever you do don't pass up on the pancakes or fries. The pancakes were so buttery and delicious, actually only got a taste since my sister in law got one. I got the veggie omelette with hash browns and side of biscuits and gravy and had leftovers for later. Plates were generously portioned, you won't leave hungry. If you like Mimosas they have an all you can drink with side juice of your choice. I would recommend trying it out and would most likely eat again when in town if we go out to eat for sure. Went with a party of six we were given a table first and I kindly asked to be moved to a booth table as they were bigger. The waitress without hesitation kindly accommodated us. The moment we were seated our beverage order was taken and about 15 minutes later we all had our food. My daughter and brother had Benedicts which they both devour. My parents had French toast and stated they were not only tasty, but also the sweetness level was very well balanced. I had the California omelette and it was also delicious with a perfectly ripened avocado on top. My daughter loved the buttermilk pancakes with strawberries. The chicken fried steak was delicious (which is the only reason why there's a 2-star rating), but the rest of the experience was terrible. Our server neglected us after taking our order, we waited over 30+ minutes for our food, and when it came -- the server asked us if we had ordered 1 or 2 banana nut pancakes. Wtf. We had clearly asked for a full order and she had to ask us again? Then, the pancakes came and they were both raw. Our hash browns were under cooked, though we asked for them crispy. Same waitress had to get us a new order of hash browns. Now that we were upset with our late and messed up order, we were given excellent service where she paid such careful attention. Then we asked her to take back the pancakes that were raw. She gave us a "discount" so we only paid $11.27. She then told us that she could give us something to go. Grabbed breakfast here on our last day out in la quinta. There's plenty of parking in their lot outside and they didn't have a wait when we arrived so we were seated right away. Service was great but the food was even better! I ordered the egg dish with fresh fruit and bacon. Everything tasted great. The plate also came with pancakes so I upgraded to banana nut pancakes. I am a local resident. I have been going to the Palms café periodically every since they opened in this location. The food has generally been very consistent as well as the service. Today when I visited, I was very taken back. First the booth they sat us at had crumbs all over the seat and I brought it to the attention of the hostess. She just took her hand and knocked them onto the floor. We were there 5 to minutes no one ever ask us if we wanted water coffee or anything. Finally, the waitress came took our order and then we got water. This is not a new procedure because everybody else got water when they first sat down. When they brought the food They brought two meals and part of one at the same time. The other person had to wait over five minutes for their sandwich. The sandwich was a Ruben, but only a trace of sauerkraut. In fact, it was so little we thought that there was none at all. The other person that got a partial meal had to wait about 10 minutes for their pancake that went with their breakfast. Where I was sitting, I could see them as they put the meals up on the ledge to be picked up and taken to the table. While we waited for the pancake, they delivered at least 20+ plates of food to others, including pancakes. I asked three people to speak to a manager. The last person said oh yeah, the managers right there and he motioned for the manager to come to our table. The manager just threw up his arms and never came to the table. They also have started charging 4% if you use a credit card, which is the cost of doing business and they should absorb the cost or make sure that it is clearly posted everywhere that you know in advance that if you're using a credit card that you're going to be charged an additional 4%. Three people in our group had cash one had a credit card, so even though we were only putting $20 on the credit card they tried to charge as if we were putting the whole bill on the credit card. Their system could not figure out how to only charge the 4% on the amount that was going on the credit card. This is a broken system, and for those that are not aware they need to be cautious if they're using a credit card and paying cash because the fee will be charged on the entire bill by their system. I have never complained or had a problem before, but the lack of concern by management is very concerning. The poor service and the potentially overcharged on the bill has made me rethink ever going back. In fact, two people that were with me said they would never come back. It is sad that customer service has dropped to such a low state and management does not care about their customers. read more

Went to The Palms Cafe on a Sunday morning. The quoted wait time was 30 minutes, however they were able to seat us in 20 minutes, which was great. I got the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, my wife a Denver Omelette. I upgraded my meal to a pancake versus toast for 50 cents which was a good choice because the pancakes were fantastic! We would definitely go back, however next time I'd probably just get a stack of pancakes with a side of bacon or sausage. The service was good. read more

Sensational breakfast/lunch spot with great food and service. It was closer to lunchtime and I got the California Caesar, a unique way to mix it up with a typical Caesar salad, and it was excellent. Other items ordered at our table that are recommended are the BBQ ranch chicken salad, the pancakes (gigantic, hot and fluffy) and the mac n cheese (the real deal). Absolutely amazing place for breakfast. We found this place as a recommendation here on yelp as we were in the area. We understand bow why it has the rating it does. The food is absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. I am a huge breakfast lover and this has been one of my favorite places that I've found. Our whole family was pleased with their serving sizes to the way it was prepared. We are currently preparing to move to the east coast and one of the things we said we wanted to do before we left is to come here for breakfast again. And we are about an hour and a half away.
