"Skip it" . We went after church for breakfast and they were "out" of everything but not serving lunch! My kids got the oatmeal which was the only thing available and it was instant but served cold. The server was unapologetic and acted as if it was our fault for showing up at the wrong time... Don't waste your time. . read more

House-made lavender simple syrup in their lavender lattes, chocolate peanut-butter bars that will wipe your memory clean of all other peanut-butter cups. Seating can be limited, but that'll depend on the time of day. They also have a good compliment of offerings for lunch items. Good place to get some laptop time in as well. Always super! Yes, they sometimes run out of things during the day, but that is not a reason to avoid this gem in downtown Ada. Always fabulous sweets, great teas and coffee - plus a recent addition of having some fresh pasta and sauces made from their sister restaurant across the street now available. You cannot go wrong with a beignet muffin or their twist on the rice crispy treat (seriously fabulous) and the gluten free berry muffins when they have them are literally to die for they are so good. Very good. We had meatballs and arugala salad, fettucine, and black tea. Everything was homemade and very fresh. Good size portions but no leftovers. Small menu but I find that to be a good thing because everything has to be great. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because I am selective on the rating and I need to try more. Absolutely the best omelet I have ever had! This is the perfect place to eat fun foods like french toast, or stick to healthier choices. My only complaint is that they do not have any smaller options for kids. Last week, I had to pay $9 for my daughter's meal. Just too much food for younger kids, and too high in price. I Moved to the area not too long ago and drive past quite a bit-not only does the Nonna Cafe give a very mom's kitchen feel in the restaurant the latte is the best I've had in a while, the food is amazing, and the owner works the register himself. They have homemade granola, muffins, and scones in addition to warm breakfast like baked French toast with pecans. It is a perfect hidden little restaurant that could contend in any big city, tucked in a small Michigan town. I may have a new favorite place! read more

Cute, quaint place that serves "proper tea." I would say, they serve tea, properly. They take high quality loose-leaf, serve it in a real tea pot, with tea cups, with saucers. altogether so rare in the 21st century American Midwest. If they added a proper sugar bowl with cubes and a proper creamer, they'd have earned the fifth star. They play real jazz in the background. It's a pretty little place, entrances front and back, very clean, a limited but tasty array of fresh baked goods, and a limited but serviceable breakfast menu, we enjoyed omelettes. They also have attractive looking salads, and no, this is not the place for men who are insecure about their masculinity. An excellent choice for an afternoon book club, a tea break, a light lunch with your girlfriends or nieces, they make mince pies to order. If my brother-in-law Dirk used words like effete, hoity-toity, bourgeois or fou-fou, that's what he would call the place, but instead, when he heard we had tea there, he just grunted with a vague disapproval. read more

Also glad to see the expansion across the street with Nonna's Trattoria, which means we are more likely to get a table without a wait. Was impressed with the facility, except I find a tip jar at the order counter a real turnoff. As for what am I tipping? Both menu and portions were skimpy. Omelet was small and runny, with token ingredients. Toast, single slice, ie dry bread without color, was not inviting. I just thought I'd try the new eatery. Love, love, love Nonna's! I was told they don't normally bake peach cobbler but they made an exception for me. I placed an order, enough for 90 people, it was delivered on time and was still warm! The cobbler was fantastic, everyone at the office enjoyed it so much we asked Nonna's to cater another large order but this time we tried the banana bread. If you seek old farmhouse ambiance, you'll get it, all the way down to the malfunctioning front door but don't expect old-fashioned service or price. Their goods are overpriced and staff is rude. I waited in line over 10 min while the clerk yapped away with the client in front of me about highschool friends they had in common. The tiny over-seasoned piece of quiche I purchased was not worth the time in line or the $6 charged. Neither were the glaze soaked muffins I got for my family. I will NOT be returning. read more

High marks for village-y charm and friendliness. Scrambled eggs are French style (wet, or loose), so if you want them cooked longer, you have to request it. All the food is good, and don't get me started on the bakery goods. Fabulous! Service is profoundly slow, both to be greeted and submit your order, as well as food prep. I have no idea why it takes 30 min to scramble an egg (especially French style) and toast some bread. So I would have given 5 stars, but took a point off for egregiously slow service. read more
