Really cool atmosphere but food is pretty average. Biscuits and gravy tasted like it was canned. The atmosphere almost made up for the food.

The French toast and the hash omelette were awesome. The atmosphere was quaint and the service was very friendly.

I love coffee shops, so I always get excited when I can try a new to me spot, like The Borough. I…read moredon't get to Allendale very often (maybe twice a year) so when I was heading to Grand Valley's campus for an event recently, I made sure to allow extra time to stop by. The parking lot in front is pretty small, and there is only one access point, so if you go past it, you'll have to turn around near the apartments behind it. Don't drive on the sidewalk... I didn't, mostly because there is a sign that says, "This is a sidewalk" which made me laugh. (Truly that should be an entrance into the parking lot!) The space is very bright and airy with cute decor and space to get some work or studying done. I was greeted right away when I walked in and I had a tough time deciding what to order. I wasn't hungry, but I love that they have a full on food menu - including salads, burgers(!!!), bagels, toasts, paninis, pastries, etc. Plus all the regular coffee items, boba, smoothies, and teas. I went with one of the seasonal specials, the banana bread matcha. It didn't take too long to come out and it was very tasty - not really what I was expecting, but I liked it. It reminded me of a very green banana (which is how I prefer bananas), it wasn't super sweet but also not super matcha-y. They are expanding their space, so I am interested in coming back to see what that looks like and to order more delicious drinks and try the food!

I love the healthier food options they have, but you never have to twist my arm for their panini and tater tots as well! They always have fun specials for drinks and the staff have great recommendations. Go check out this great woman-owned spot!

I've been going since late 2022/early 2023, back when they were just a vintage shop (with a cute cat) at their old spot further down Division. I first came across them at a market and bought a shirt (still probably my favorite shirt in my collection) but at the time they were pretty under the radar, so I forgot the name. Almost a year later, an old friend complimented that same shirt, which led to me telling the whole story. I was like, "all I remember is they sold spoon rings," and said friend immediately goes, "sounds like Otono on Division." Ofc I went there that weekend, and sure enough, that was them. Been a fan ever since. At this point, a good chunk of my wardrobe is from them. It's been really cool seeing how much they've grown and evolved, especially with the addition of the café. I think it's such a hit and fits their vibe perfectly. The owners are also super personable and the staff are always kind. I added a few pics from past visits, but I definitely recommend checking them out. And if you get lucky, they sometimes have cookies and other treats from Cou Cou Bakehouse when there are leftovers from her pop-ups!

So many cozy places to vibe. It's possible to reserve little sections of the shop for group events too. The menu is standard coffee shop offerings and I loved the espresso spritz that I got - I've never had a coffee that made me feel like I was drinking a cocktail before! The baked goods were high quality and tasty. The barista crew was super kind and friendly. They seemed to enjoy working together and went out of their way to be chatty and friendly towards me. Their little merch selections was super hard to resist - they sell cute totes and cups including clay cups which was unique. I loved their community focus and sustainability. Definitely check out Aldea if you're in the area - it's a beautiful space to be.

Everything tasted phenomenal and we relaxed for a better part of an hour drawing, reading, and taking in the smell of live plants while listening to soothing cafe tunes. Across the way there is a beautiful boutique store with cute clothes and jewelry. They had paper bags to decorate for the kid's food basket along with print offs for kids to color. I loved their little library of books to curl up to. This place felt like a refuge to sit, relax, and be creative. Thankful these places exist. They make a killer cappuccino- reminded me of Italy. Strong and small. Definitely check out this place if you need to be caffeinated or want a gf cookie. I like it the most for the vibessssss.
