This is a little establishment, tucked away from the bustle of downtown Boulder, situated next to a couple of auto-repair (auto-detailing?) shops. The trick to Parkway is quite simple. You walk in. You choose a seat. A very helpful server comes by your way. You order (a black coffee and a Denver Omelette - sides of green chile and hash browns). You get your food in less than 13 minutes. You eat until you're stuffed (80% of the large omelette, all the hash browns, and two cups of coffee). You pay and you leave. I really loved the green chile and the hash browns were super crispy on the outside, all potato-ey and soft underneath. And the omelette was pretty stellar, too. It was glorious. read more

I love this place. It's far enough out that most people overlook this gem, but once you find it, man, you won't regret stopping in. I haven't ventured with their menu much, but their scrambles are something else. I don't think I have ever had one quite as good as theirs. I only wish they had more seating and were open longer hours. We are a younger couple and look to be close to college age. This place doesn't get a lot of people our age so we get looked at a lot which can be a bit uncomfortable. I would assume they think we're some dumb hungover college kids, which I can assure you, we are definitely not. That's not their fault, though. But we definitely are a little cautious about going there. My only true gripe about this place is the way they treat the men that aren't regulars. My husband isn't a huge fan of them. The staff has a tendency to ignore the male gender. They're always super nice to me but then ignore my husband almost entirely. There's some sort of girl power thing going on there that makes them always hand me the check instead of just leaving it on the table. We've actually stopped going now that we live in Longmont. It's not worth it to us to drive all the way there to watch them not say a word to my husband. It's not the first time I've heard this either. I actually had a friend who has a ton of restaurant experience that felt like he didn't get the job because he was a guy. After two visits to the Parkway, this is one of my new favorite breakfast spots. While the menu contains all of your standard breakfast items, it's the specials that always distract me from what I was originally planning to order. The Parkway is a no frills kind of joint with friendly servers and a nice size patio for warmer weather. The first time I was lured in by the special of the day was when they had Mexican Ravioli. I wasn't sure what how the ravioli was going to be prepared, was it like Italian ravioli? It ended up being something like small empanadas filled with chorizo and cotija cheese. They were served on top of refried beans with eggs on the side and a tangy tomatillo sauce. Flavorful grape tomatoes were halved and decorated the top. Surprisingly delicious! The second time I thought I was set on an omelet but the waitress tells us about some pumpkin pancakes topped with cinnamon apples and a plate of breakfast arepas. Arepas filled with black forest sausage, cheese, tomatillo sauce with spicy fingerling potatoes alongside and eggs. I couldn't resist. The portions are large so if you don't normally eat a lot, there's plenty to share with someone else or to take home for a later meal. Along the road to the wonderful center for hard-to-recycle materials is a breakfast and lunch restaurant that's been in Boulder for many years. They have reasonable prices and serve good food. You know me...I stick with stuff I like, and at the Parkway I just love the blueberry pancakes. The last time I had breakfast here, I enjoyed an omelette with green chiles and cheddar, accompanied by a decent fresh fruit cup and blueberry pancakes, and it was $6.25 for everything. It seemed like a good deal to me. Good pancakes, good syrup, good omelettes, and I have never tried any of their lunch offerings. Friendly and efficient service too. They've got all the meat ingredients too...I just don't always talk about that. This is the closest thing to a Jersey diner I've found so far on my trip to Boulder. Huge selection of regular diner and western/Mexican items on the menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Parking can be a little tough, but it's worth driving around for a couple minutes to park. I ordered the French toast, which was home style--very eggy. The location in the strip was not an issue cause the was plenty of parking and even though it didn't look like much from outside, the food was wonderful. Great service too. So what if it's located in the middle of a high density of body shops, mechanics, tire shops, light manufacturing outfits, window repair dudes and car dealers? The Parkway is the hidden jewel of breakfast in Boulder. We try not to tell too many people about it, we don't want it to have either the wait of clientele of Snooze or any other upwardly trendy Boulder breakfast spot. Literally everything on the menu is good. The Mexican breakfast is the best there is in Colorado, the biscuits and gravy are amazing, even the club sandwich is great. The Migas and the breakfast enchiladas are a favorite the green chili is the star here, it should also be noted that the red chili is also wonderful and you can order them both as a half and half. The food is always consistent, hot, delicious. The service is also the best part of the Parkway. Melissa has become our goddess of coffee and all things Parkway. Best waitress in Boulder. A good breakfast spot, and you'll get a decent variety of food. I tend to like the basics, which is eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and bacon as a combo. The food is good, but I felt the people at Village Coffee did the same meal much better. Both my girlfriend and I felt our meals were a bit greasier (and not in a good way) than at Village Coffee. However, this place is good, and the seating is awesome when the weather is good. Definitely sit outside and enjoy it. My rating might be a little unfair, but I keep comparing my experience at Village Coffee. I just felt the experience was better over there. Regardless of distance or where you're coming from, expect a decent meal here. Just know that you could get a better one a mere 2 miles away!!!! How did it take me three and a half years to find this gem?! The parkway restaurant is a true "greasy spoon" diner without the grease. It is everything I look for in a diner including a varied menu, fantastic, fast service and delicious food. I had the quatro queso- eggs with tortilla, chorizo, cheese and green chile with their house home fried potatoes. It was top notch!! Perfectly portioned to be very filling without and wasted leftovers. The home fries were good and I would get them again but I do prefer more onion and paprika with a bit less oil. Next time, I will try the hash browns. My husband got the burger. It was exactly what you want in a diner burger with thinner crispy patty and soft sesame roll. The fries were AMAZING!!!
