Came here for ice cream on a Sunday night. The selection of flavors was quite slim and they focused on mainly the classic flavors. A single was $5, and service was friendly. The ice cream was good quality and wasn't too quick to melt. There was some indoor seating but we opted to leave and walk around while eating it.

The Parlour has to have the very finest home made ice cream around. Their flavors never disappoint and they always go out of their way to make sure the vegan and non dairy communities have several different flavors as well. We stopped by and got the vegan vanilla amaretto and it is one of the most delicious flavors. They also have dole whip soft serve! Yes please!!

Was looking for dessert after dinner in Durham and walked by The Parlour to see a lively crowd inside, so stepped in. Classic American ice cream parlor vibes with a mix of classic flavors and interesting sorbets. Unfortunately, the ice cream was too sweet for my liking and both the salted butter caramel and raspberry rose water sorbet didn't wow. Chocolate Stracciatella and raspberry truffle were decent tho. In addition, the service was a little unprofessional as our scooper was distractedly talking to his friends while serving us.

The Parlour gives out great samples to those that are interested in their rotating menu. I love their fall menu and the workers are always so kind! I settled on the pumpkin stracciatella this time and thoroughly enjoyed it in a sugar cone- it's not too sweet. I've been here a handful of times with colleagues and friends and enjoyed the ice cream every time. :-)

Cute decor. Lots of menu options. I had the toffee. It was good. They also have nondairy options.

An OG ice cream spot, located in the middle of downtown Durham. We got scoops of Salted Butter Caramel, Malted Vanilla Cookie Crunch, and Vietnamese Coffee (probably my favorite) in a waffle cone. The ice cream was good, but I do feel like the ice cream scene in Durham is a bit stiff & my preference is other spots. That said, I do think The Parlour is worth a try! Ambiance is really nice (plenty of indoor seating) and service was fast. Free parking in nearby City of Durham garages on weekdays after 7pm and weekends. 7/10 would recommend!

A great spot for a sweet treat, very cost-conscious and a variety of options available. Would love to go back for an affogato. Located conveniently near many bars and night spots for the perfect place to cap off a night out. Ample seating and walkable.

Cute shop w plenty of space and seating. Several vegan ice cream options. Friendly service. And the best part is it tastes amazing! I had a double w vegan chocolate and vegan Vietnamese coffee! YUMMY .... Update... after eating all my icecream.. I decided this is the Best Damn Vegan Icecream out there!

We came here on a Saturday evening as we noticed that they had vegan options. My husband ordered the blueberry lemon vegan ice cream with a sugar cone. it was full of flavor and very refreshing. Place was clean and spacious. Convenient location around other restaurants and stores.

Outstanding ice cream with creative flavors and great service.

The BEST ice cream, SO flavorful and creamy. I love their peach raspberry but you can't go wrong with any flavor. Service is fairly quick depending on the time you go. There's plenty of indoor seating

The ice cream is great, but the environment is even better. You need to check this place out for sure!

Great service with, in my opinion, decent tasting Ice Cream. Limited selection of flavors. Not in a rush to get back and try it again.

Such a big fan of their soft serve this time of year. During COVID, this has felt like a safe spot to enjoy the simple things.

I can say that the ice cream here is good but not the best. Some are not even worth it, like that matcha flavor! Yukkkk

Good food choices but be ready for a wait!…read more I have been to Wheat twice and tried a variety of the vegetarian dishes. I had the Vegetable Lo Mein, Braised Tofu, Mapo Tofu, Fried Rice and Spring Rolls. The Braised Tofu is not very flavorful, so I would avoid that. The Mapo Tofu is absolutely delicious and has that perfect peppercorn kick. It is spicy, so get a sweet drink on the side if you are not a fan of spice. Vegetable Lo Mein is a large quantity with lots of vegetables. Ask for some sauces on the side because it is bland on its own. On the other hand, the Fried Rice is yummy on its own or with the Mapo Tofu. Spring Rolls are a little oily to my liking but are a good vegetarian appetizer option. I will say that this place is always packed, even on weekdays and sometimes the wait staff forgets about you. It took several rounds to get them to take our order, give the food or even get the check at the end. I will try it out next time at lunch time because maybe it is a little faster. I plan to be back for the Mapo Tofu and Fried Rice

For example, when my friend told him that she wanted to order the beef intestine soup, he straight up said "uh are you sure? I think it's bad, I don't like that dish" which we all thought was a very strange thing to say. A lot of their menu items looked really good and while initially I thought that I would want to come back sometime and try them, the attitude of the waiter was so off putting that I highly doubt I'll ever be back here.

Let's get right to it... possibly the best milk shake I've ever had. Fun atmosphere and friendly…read moreservice. Jess and Teagan both deserve to be on the employee of the month list! I'd recommend the chocolate peanut brownie milkshake. That, along with some bark or a truffle will give you just enough of a sugar high to make it through throws at you today!

"Great milkshakes right behind the Durham Bulls stadium"…read more Behind the Bulls stadium, next to Moe's, sits this little treat. We came on a Friday evening at around 7pm, and there was no line (though a few people came in right behind us). The place is bright and airy, with some seating, and a great counter showing a selection of chocolate treats and the menu of milkshakes. I was delighted that they had some dairy-free milkshakes, given my lactose intolerance! And 4 choices no less! They of course had fancier flavors in the dairy set, more complex than CookOut (which I love). My girlfriend and I got the lactose-free cookies and cream milkshake. They fixed it on the spot, so we got it in maybe 2 minutes. Service was friendly-- they were patient with the customers behind us who were a bit unruly (more playful unruly than rude). One word-- DELICIOUS. Not too sweet, but just right. I've had some weird dairy-free milkshakes with a grittiness or chalkiness, but this was straight-up like how I remember the real deal. It was thick too, and unlike CookOut, they gave you a thick straw so you can actually drink with it. Why 4 stars and not 5? The price was a bit steep. With a $1 tip, this one shake (which was reasonably sized but far from huge) was over $10. But for the quality and selection, I do think it's "not unreasonable". Worth the try, and worth it for a special treat!
