Nachos loved them
Mark M.

I went on opening night with our party of 7 the Hostess told us the wait would be about 20 minutes. It was actually about 10. We loved that the area was very much Social distanced. We were greeted by our server fairly quickly and the food came out a little bit slower than we would have preferred but again it was opening night and they were all learning how to work together. They offered us some free chips and salsa and we really enjoyed them. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and I really like it. It was not as hot as I would have hoped but I am willing to right this off because of a larger party and opening night. Going back this Friday and looking forward to it. I am sure they are going to be able to get the 5 star next time.

Super adorable and convenient! Fast food and service. The Vampires Kiss cocktail was delicious!! Highly recommend. The queso was giant!! Salad was huge! Might be more a sharable thing. Skillet cookie was smaller than expected. Best appetizer were the egg rolls.

Margarita flight $16 - A must!!

The intimate space is welcoming and relaxing. The staff are incredibly talented mixologists at the top of their game. The reason for our visit is their month-long Star Wars pop-up that started 5/4/26 (of course). They nailed it in every sense of the imagination from themed drinks (alcohol and n/a) to the interior and exterior decor. Hoot & Annie is currently The Mos Eisley Cantina. And, it is! It's as though we've been transformed from this town that's about 20 minutes from Austin to the actual Mos Eisley Cantina. My boyfriend is a huge Star Wars nerd and absolutely loves it. I'm a fan and a supporter and dig it. It's literally the next best thing to Galaxy's Edge. No joke. We love it here and we'll be back even during non-Star Wars times!

I had an absolute blast at Hoot & Annie!! Not only was the bartender a mixologist but the vibes were GREAT!! I love the decor from the chandeliers that are like tree limbs women together, the owl wallpaper and the cute mock little fireplace. The music is a plus. However watching them work magic behind the bar crafting cocktails was beautiful. All the staff is friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

It's definitely a destination, in the sense that you're not going to just stumble across it on your next walk. I happen to love this vibe. The crowd skews a bit older, despite the fact that cocktails range from $8 - 10. When I went, it was chill, and a big country band was out jamming on the gazebo. There's also a smaller stage indoors. They brew/distill everything on sight and I've been told there are sporadic tours, which I really want in on. Hopefully those start up again soon! I know I'll be back for a bottle of whiskey, regardless.

They have 2 rooms with a lot of seating, and an outdoor stage where the band was performing. I really enjoyed the band, and they drew a good sized crowd. I enjoyed my drinks. I forgot to take a picture of the last one, the Mango Volcano, made with chipotle rum, and it was my favorite. The drinks are well made and reasonably priced which I loved. Everyone at the bar was very friendly. I do wish there had been a little more outdoor seating, but it looked like they were repairing some of their picnic tables. The location and band made for a fun Friday night. Link to the band's website: http://www.bookthecovers.com

The food was genuinely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The bed was also a standout -- more comfortable than what I've experienced at most four-star hotels. I also loved the in-room Nespresso machine, which was a great touch. The only drawbacks are the location and setting. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

This charming, quaint boutique hotel is located in a residential neighborhood in Round Rock, TX. The Ruby Hotel & Bar is situated along Brushy Creek in historic downtown Round Rock. The hotel has 39 uniquely designed rooms and suites, in the suburbs of Austin, TX. The hotel blends mid-century modern design with natural surroundings, creating a chic vibe. The property is distinctly divided into to major buildings...the hotel and the bar. There is a random small building up front also...not sure what that buildings for. There is also outdoor seating, which would be pleasant in the summer. Last night we had freezing temperatures, so sub-optimal for seating outside. When we entered the bar, we felt transported to another place in time. Retro looking furniture at the entry with finger dialed phones...my nieces and nephews would likely not have any idea what these little machines called telephones were. The bar was a mix of old - building built in the 1960s....new - modern mirrors and bar. There was signage at the front of the bar that stated to seat yourself and place your order from the bar (different set up...for sure). We ordered the hummus plate minus pita bread plus more cucumbers. Alan, our server was very accommodating to make that switch. We had herbal hot tea (chamomile and pomegranate berry). We listened to the 3 person band, who sang music from Johnny Cash to Bob Marley and so many different genres in between. What a lovely evening...date night score!

And, at both breakfasts Amy made me feel especially welcome! The table came with a bottle of water for self-service, which I appreciated. The wine list was of good quality. My server at dinner was able to give me a solid recommendation for one to pair with my salmon. She was dead on with how well it complimented the fish. As for the salmon, it wasn't overly seasoned and was incredibly flaky. It was a good size as well. For breakfast, The Breakfast Plate's eggs were cooked perfectly with appropriately cooked bacon. I enjoyed the potatoes that accompanied it as well. The Buttermilk Pancakes meal was a failure though. The pancakes were gooey inside. My server, Amy, offered to have them remade, but I declined the offer. So I accepted a parfait, which was easily one of the best I've had in Austin. The granola with the berries were perfectly balanced, and the granola wasn't super chunky. Amy was 100% invested in my meal satisfaction. The dining room is quite pretty with lovely set tables. Every time I ate, I felt a tad underdressed! But they don't care if you're comfortably casual, and i saw a family with small children looking very relaxed and vacationy and they were welcome.

Drinks: water (nice & cold) and the Jellyfish ale, Food: we shared the MASSIVE nacho platter w/beef chorizo which we didn't finish - it was too much for us both and it tasted Great! The size of the serving platter will utterly astound you so be ready for a stuffed gut! We both ordered the Baha chicken wraps & fries; we had to take these home with us and consumed them the next night: best wraps I've had served from any establishment and this was a day after we purchased them. They play pop music videos as well as Country Western and Latin music. The staff are friendly and fun to talk with. Today I met Junior the bartender and Marcos the owner. I ordered the Latin Burger which consisted of an angus beef patty, served on a bed of melted cheese, accompanied by caramelized onions, bacon, tomato and lettuce. It is super juicy since the meat is bought fresh from a butcher in Georgetown. It comes with French fries too. I also had a Love Street Draft Beer. The Bichota cocktail was a standout--sweet, refreshing, and with just enough of a kick to keep you sipping slowly. The Old Fashioned was equally impressive: sweet yet balanced, served in a stylish glass with a unique holder that made the experience feel elevated. For food, the chicharrón with fried yuca and tostones was perfection. The pork was fried to a crisp golden shell without being greasy, and seasoned just right--not too salty, but enough to make every bite crave-worthy. The yuca and tostones were cut to the perfect thickness for even cooking, with a satisfying crunch outside and tender inside, especially when dipped into their garlicky sauce. The cheese sticks are an absolute must-have--crispy outside, oozy inside, and dangerously addictive. And the arepas? Exceptionally good--stuffed with beans, cheese, beef, and sweet plantains for that perfect salty-sweet balance. Every plate showed attention to texture, seasoning, and presentation. Price Considering the quality of ingredients, creative plating, and generous portions, the prices felt fair for a fusion dining experience. The cocktails were crafted with care and worth every penny. Appetizers could easily be shared, making it easy to get variety without breaking the bank. Environment We sat outside and it was amazing for groups, dates, and inside it is super cool. The décor is not fancy but really fun Austin style. There is a section bar where they play music which I want to try. Service The service was cool and amicable. It looks the server was new but he did give recommendations. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great pairing suggestions. Dishes came out at a good pace, and drinks were refreshed quickly. You could tell the staff was proud of the food they were serving, which made the whole experience even better. Overall: If you're looking for a place where Latin flavors meet creative execution, this spot is worth the visit. Come hungry, order a mix of small plates, and don't skip the cocktails--or the garlic sauce.
