The wings were decent, but they were pretty standard. I've had better wings elsewhere, and these could have used a more balanced and flavorful seasoning. I really hate changing my review from a year ago, but things have gone downhill. I heard there was an ownership change, which could explain it. The food is still good, but service is terrible. We went a week ago and the AC was broken, so it was hot and miserable...but there were no signs. Our waitress just happened to mention it and also said they were low on ice. The waitress was nice enough, but soooooo slow. A few times I thought she forgot about us. Getting our bar drinks took forever. At one point we were waiting for something and she was a few tables down just chatting it up with other customers. She stayed at that table for at least 5 minutes which feels like forever when you're waiting for something. We went several times in the first several months after they opened and loved it. We went a few months ago and the service was bad, but we were hoping it was just a bad night so we decided to give them another chance. It was even worse. Listen... I don't know who I need to apologize to, but it might be myself for sleeping on this place for this long. I pulled up thinking I was just grabbing a little happy hour snack, and suddenly I'm knee-deep in plates like I'm at an all-you-can-eat taste-test sponsored by destiny. Happy hour food? We ordered everything. Literally. If it was on the happy hour menu, we said "yes." If there was a button that said "Are you sure?" we hit "confirm" without reading the terms and conditions. No regrets. Happy hour drinks? Dangerous. Delicious. Deceptively smooth. One more and I would've started singing along to the music videos like I was auditioning for a comeback tour nobody asked for. And speaking of music-- The vibe was straight fire. They were blasting 80s and 90s hits with the actual music videos playing, and I swear for a second I forgot where I was. I thought I was in a time machine, or at least in some kind of retro-themed VIP lounge where everyone has good taste. The nostalgia was hitting harder than the cocktails. The decor? Chef's kiss. It's giving "classy with personality," like the place knows it looks good but doesn't need to brag about it. Service? Perfect. Impeccable. Smooth like they rehearsed it. Savannah and Silvana were fantastic -- professional, friendly, zero stress, and somehow always there with exactly what we needed without hovering like a drone. Ten out of ten humans. The wild part? Nice little bar tucked away off the corner of Palmer and 1431. I came in on a Friday night to have a drink and was pleasantly surprised by the food. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and I tried an Asada taco. The taco was so good I came back the next day to try more tacos. Here's how I ranked them. 1. ASADA taco - Dang this was good! The asada had nice flavor and the tacos are pretty big! 2. Smash burger taco- It tasted like a burger inside a taco and I love it! 3. Brisket taco- The brisket was well seasoned. Something about here that keeps bringing me back. Today I went for some breakfast tacos. I had the Spicy Southwest tacos. They are not really spicy but full of juicy sausage. I really like them. I had their coffee today as well and it was a pretty good drip coffee. All of this was served with love. The servers all have nice stories to share if you let them. The customers are pretty cool too. There are at least 6 or more TVs all playing some game whether it be baseball, basketball, golf, etc. If it is on ESPN they can swith it over. My husband really likes this restaurant because he can catch the latest game while we are eating! They are always very nice about changing to the game you want to see! We like the University of TN games (the real UT!) I tried the Bang Bang (w/ chicken) Eggrolls & they were very good! Hubby had the Cajun Alfredo Blackened Fettuccine & it was good but HOT, HOT, HOT! We'll have them tone down the spice a little next time we order. I had the Fall 2025 Tipsy Pumpkin & it was just ok. There were little coffee grounds or something at the very bottom. Firewater is still one of, if not my favorite, place in Cedar Park. They have one of the best beer selections on tap in the area--lots of variety and changing it up often. And adding Save the World! Soon! The menu is big and I can still say that everything I have tried has been solid. They have great specials. I love the Reuben, Taco Tuesday, Recession Burger specials, and Impossible burgers. The Cajun Alfredo with blackened chicken is great, and all the rice bowls have been good (love the carnitas). The fries and ranch are great (huge in my book). This is a really great spot. As you can see from my picture of the tap wall, they are bringing the hits. Excellent food and terrific happy hour specials with 20% off of basically everything. We visited Firewater with our Sunday dining friends. Surprisingly, we walked into an empty restaurant at 1 PM. Surprisingly because this is a sports bar on NFL Sunday. OK, we can choose our table and enjoy having the joint to ourselves. Cutting to the chase our food was fine. Our Korean cauliflower bites were excellent. Our rice-protein bowls were good as well a tad too much rice and shy on the protein but AOK. Our companions ordered caprese salad, pizza, and fish and chips. All were good, especially the Margherita pizza. So, why 3-stars? Service and the timing of our food delivery was terrible. I mentioned earlier that the venue was empty so why did it take over 20 minutes for our App to arrive? Our companion's salad arrived 10 minutes later with our entrees. This is a big no-no. We had the same extended wait for our very complicated drink order two bloodies and two draft beers. Yea, that's sarcasm folks. Also, no condiments on the table and we had to ask for additional place settings and utensils. All of these issues could be resolved with additional training. We shared the mozzerella sticks and spicy pickle fries. Both were so hot and yummy! The pickle fries were the BOMB! Our favorite! Our grandson had the spaghetti and meatballs and he ate a lot of it and said it was good. The meatballs were big! My fiance and I shared the 3 piece fish and parmesan fries. By the time the food arrived, we were stuffed; however, we still sampled our entree. The fish and parmesan fries were so good. It also came with a small side of coleslaw, which was just okay. I came in with Thing Two for a little bit of lunch last month. When we walked in, we were greeted promptly as the restaurant was fairly empty with only one table seated and one patron at the bar. Let's get to it, shall we? Chips and salsa (complementary) The salsa that accompanied the store bought chips isn't a salsa but is a tomato sauce similar to a marinara sauce. Bruschetta There are several variations of bruschetta. It can be as simple as Tuscany's version called fettunta--fresh bread, grilled and brushed with good quality olive oil. Or, the more popular tomato bruschetta with diced tomatoes and fresh herbs, garlic, and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan. I ordered three different types of Bruschetta to try a little bit of this and that. Shrimp pesto The dish starts with a base of crispy grilled bread slices, which are topped with sauteed shrimp, mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto sauce. This fresh dish used traditional and simple ingredients in an expected way (meaning most have this spin on Bruschetta before). Each element of the dish could be tasted. Salmon Salmon Bruschetta was essentially a "lox and a schmear" as the main ingredients for this dish were capers, salmon, and cream cheese. Smoked salmon canapes are fantastic appetizers or finger food, and perfect for entertaining as they are simple to make. The salty flavor from salmon and capers was most prevalent on this dish. Like the shrimp pesto, this too wasn't out of the ordinary. Strawberry This Bruschetta was topped with strawberry,Brie, and green apple. The creamy cheese pairs perfectly with the sweet strawberries with a perfect hit of acid from the apples to pull the whole ensemble together. It was refreshing to have Brie not paired with Golden Delicious, Ambrosia, or Honeycrisp apples. This was by far the best combination of those sampled. Tacos Thing Two and I each ordered three tacos to get a good sampling of what was offered. Carnitas taco Carnitas are a Mexican version of pulled pork. Because of the higher fat content, cooking it with pork shoulder (also known as pork butt) keeps the meat tender and juicy. However, these were NOT that. The meat for these tacos was tough, which traditionally happens when meat is overcooked. The toughness and lack of flavor made this dish not worth ordering again. Ahi Taco Ahi tuna is a species of tuna found in all tropical and subtropical oceans. It's a lean, white fish commonly served as sushi and as sashimi, or cooked rare or medium-rare. The Ahi on for these tacos were served warm and was of good quality. The accouterments for the tacos were less than memorable. Other tacos sampled included the Tempura Taco, (which Thing Two noted lacked flavor), the Asada Taco, and the Brisket Taco. Overall, the service was okay, but the food was lackluster. In addition, I was charged $5 per taco, yet the menu noted when three tacos are ordered, the price is 3 for $13.00 (price as of August 2023). read more

Great to see a new restaurant so we decided to check it out! We took advantage of their happy hour specials! The Mexican martini was a highlight. I highly recommend the fried Korean cauliflower!! Let me start by saying that this restaurant confuses me. The menu reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory - pages and pages of varieties of food. Italian, Indian, American, Tacos, Pizza, etc., etc. The ambiance/decor is a fusion of Asian and American sports bar. We made a reservation on their website for 7pm on a Friday - not knowing what to expect, we figured better safe than sorry. The restaurant never contacted us to confirm the reservation. We showed up on time just in case and the restaurant was basically empty. The service itself was a mix - slower than expected for drinks but the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The quality of the food was actually pretty good - no complaints there. I'm honestly not sure if we'll be back, but it was a very mix bag. read more

This was a new place for my friend and I. Service was great, and the atmosphere was festive for St. Patrick's Day. My friend wanted a pint of Guinness, and they had it. We also each enjoyed one of their special holiday cocktails- each fun and delicious. They have an extensive food menu, but we chose to order off their $7 bar menu. The food was delicious. The chili cheese fries are hands down the best I have ever had. Since we were dressed for the holiday, we each received a discount on our checks and our waitress gave us Guinness shamrock necklaces! My family has been here a few times as it was our choice lunch place after church. We really enjoyed the food we have gotten. Very nice servers, but the wait time for the food to get out can be a bit on the longer side.. which would be fine if it was actually busy to make it take longer to come out. My frustration is what they consider a "large" party to put the 18% or whatever it is gratuity automatically. Having worked in the restaurant industry as a server, 5 people were never considered a large party.. it was 8+ people. We have had lots of growth in the Cedar Park/Leander area and one thing everyone loves is a new hangout spot. Firewater has become my new local bar. They have a pretty good happy hour and wine specials. I like the Indian fusion style menu but still classic bar food. The drinks are creative and fun but you can still order beer on tap. The staff is friendly but sometimes too chatty. The kitchen serves the food hot so it does take a while for some orders. Parking is plentiful and management is always willing to make things right if they go wrong. Again, this is my new local bar. read more

Hello, I went to the restaurant yesterday, and I'm a frequent customer. Since they sold the restaurant, it's been a disaster. All the food was cold and undercooked. I have an acquaintance who works in the kitchen, and they told me that the kitchen is full of insects and very unsanitary conditions. I really urge that an inspector go and see what's going on in that kitchen. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Sometimes family and business is a bad mix together. Came into to watch the UT game with friends. Looks like the owners found it okay to use their business as their young kids hangout. Screaming, running through the front of house as well as in and out of kitchen. We were there 3 hours and the kids were there the entire time acting out. Pull your act together. Second horrendous experience with the service there. I'm honestly confused how this place has good reviews. First time was a date night with my husband. The servers were sitting on the other side of the bar from us eating their dinner. In front of us. Shoveling it in their mouths. Thought it was a one-off even though we were the only ones in there besides one other guy who's order they messed up....twice. Next time, sat down for HH. Ignored for 10 minutes while the server who told us where to sit at the bar and the bartender chatted about working doubles and ignored us. So, I have visited this restaurant 3 times in as many months. The first time I got the Firewater Classic burger which has 2 patties and all the usual toppings. $16+. It was tasty and cooked just right. I thought, "Great we ahve a new place to eat." My second visit I ordered the Crispy Chicken Burger also $16+. It was a bit on the dry side and not as tasty as the burger had been. My third, and last visit, today,I ordered off the lunch menu. It was on a part of the menu where you could get 2 items but I opted for just the Caesar salad with chicken added. Also $16+. When it came I was completely disappointed. It was a side salad size with a few bits of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on, croutons, Caesar dressing and Chicken. Not only was it incredibly small but the chicken was overcooked (as in black), dry and cut into tiny bits. I couldn't even taste the chicken. The final straw was the bill. $16+ for what? Nowhere near the burger I got on my first visit. Because the quality is not what it needs to be since my second visit I will not go back. They need to find a consistent cook who knows what they are doing. They also need more descriptons on the menu. Speaking of menus, at lunch there were 3 menus handed to us. Better to offer fewer options and have one menu maybe 2 for the lunch specials. The wait time for our food was inordinately long considering we were the only people in the restaurant. Lunch-time is a great time to go! We didn't realize this isn't "just" a bar. Firewater actually has very good food. We happened to catch their weekday $12 lunchtime special (1 entree choice + 1 soup or salad choice + a soft drink). The salad was fresh, with avocado slices. The burger was done medium - just right. And the cilantro-lime chicken rice bowl was delicious. As mentioned, we had no idea that Firewater isn't only a bar which serves food as an afterthought. The food is tasty and worthy of going there even if you don't drink! The owner came up to our table to inquire how things were going. He told us that Firewater has a Trivia night on Tuesdays, Music Trivia on Wednesdays, and Karaoke on Thursdays.
