I called on a Friday and left a message to inquire about having my 30 lb Icelandic Sheepdog groomed. I received a text message from Lucas on Sunday following up. When I told him the size and breed of my dog, he replied that they cannot currently accommodate new customers with longer-haired breeds, as the groomers are booked months in advance and they can't keep up with demand. Lucas was professional and apologetic and for that I'm appreciative. Being in a position to turn away customers and income is a good problem to have for any business, and I hope that they continue to see high demand for their services. However, from the customer perspective, the reality is that I called a business requesting a service, and I was turned away. Unless you're a nightclub, that type of treatment, as necessary as it may seem in the short-term, doesn't bode well for long-term success. I still have a dog that needs to get groomed, and I'll have to take my business elsewhere. In doing so, I'll likely recount the experience of being turned away to other dog owners, and as any business owner knows, word-of-mouth is crucial to success. For the future, I'd recommend the team take a different course of action than to simply turn people away- rather, advise on the lengthy wait time, offer to make an appointment, no matter how far out, and offer to call if cancellations arise. I would have greatly appreciated that courtesy and felt as if they really wanted to earn my business. Instead, I was left feeling shut out and as though this business couldn't be bothered to accept my money. At the end of the day, simply saying "sorry, can't do it" to a customer, no matter how necessary it may feel and how politely you deliver the message, will always leave a bad taste in their mouth. They'll tell others about that bad taste, and they'll likely never return.

Luna had a great time during her visit. It was her first time to the groomer at just under 7 months old; her undercoat is still developing and her overcoat is only just starting to come in. We learned that it was the first Belgian Tervuren that Bubbly Pup has groomed, and it was evident they really did their homework and studied her breed for a perfect approach to her grooming. We couldn't be happier with the results and will definitely be back. I also appreciate the convenience of text messaging in addition to phoning for appointments and updates.

But she was in desperate need of a professional bath so we were on the look-out for a private groomer. Luckily, we ran into Ginia on an ice cream run once with Mia. Ginia was very nice and calm as her daughter wanted to pet Mia. We could easily tell that Ginia loves animals and knows how to treat them. We were ecstatic to hear that she was private dog groomer taking clients one at a time in her own home without cages. We immediately made an appointment and couldn't wait to bring Mia in. When we picked her up, we can tell by Mia's mood that she was very happy with her session. Ginia gave her a bandana and us a card with a lovely photo. Even two weeks after the appointment, Mia still smells and feels fresh. We definitely recommend Ginia for any pooch, especially senior canines that are prone to take naps and have dry skin.

She allowed plenty of time for Lilly to get comfortable and she gave her lots of one on one time. We will definitely be back! If you love your pets, you'll want to bring them here to be groomed.

They seemed nice enough but he would shake all over and try to run away when I tried to take him into the grooming section of the store. He normally is a very mild mannered dog who gives me no issues and never tries to run from me. After the last trip, I decided I couldn't do that to him anymore and in looking for another groomers, I decided to try Paws Awhile. I am so happy I did! I told the owner, Leanne about my issues with him at the other groomers and she was so gentle and talked with him and gave him extra attention. When I went to pick him up, besides being wonderfully groomed, he was very happy with his tail up and wagging and wiggling all over with happiness. I was thrilled! He is a long haired sheltie and needs to be groomed every 4-6 weeks to maintain his fur properly. I dreaded the trip to the groomers before and now he and I happily go to his appointment. Having him cleaned and groomed properly is very importantly obviously, but having him not be traumatized by the experience and be happy is more important to me. If you are also having this issue with your pet, I highly recommend trying Paws Awhile! We're so happy we found them!

My primary concern when I board my dogs is that they are not in a cage for the entire day and get plenty of playtime with other dogs in a large area. Preppy Pet ensures that your dog is supervised and gets as much playtime and exercise as they need. They have a good sized outdoor play area as well as a large indoor play area for inclement weather. The staff is very friendly, listens to your concerns about your pet, and cares about the well-being of the dogs that are in their care. The prices are exremely fair and will not make you go broke if you need to board your dog over a weekend. I feel great in knowing that I never have to go anywhere else for a kennel. When we arrived for our appointment I was rudely met by a groomer who told us that we should have called an hour before arriving as they were an hour behind on this day. First of all as a business owner I find it appalling that you would treat a new paying customer this way. Secondly, the place is extremely small there were several dogs being groomed and it had to be at least 85 degrees in the place. I have two beautiful labs I would NEVER bring them to this place. My cat just needed to be brushed out that of which they assured me that they offer as a service. I would not have left our cat there .
