    Wings and Side Caesar Salad
    Amanda W.

The wings are ginormous, and they are the ones that drums and flats are together which is top tier, IYKYK, and still flavorful even jumbo. The sauce isn't too spicy. Loved the ranch. The side Cesar is a bit pricey as $7 for the size but was still yummy.

Excellent wings. Large size and they come in sweet chili, barbecue, buffalo, or "tiger cry" sauce options. House made ranch here is delicious. The Mac n cheese was so thick the sauce stuck to my lips in a strange way but it was flavorful and I love the rotini. They made my barbecue sandwich into wrap form which was everything I wanted! Juicy brisket and bbq sauce in a grilled wrap. Loud in this bar and definitely made for watching sports.

Found my way traveling on my own from CT to KC, I apparently had some time over 5 days and had to scout other stops allow the way and this just so happened to be my last stop before jet setting back to NE. Summary: # 1. Joyce, thank you! Great service # 2. Food, very good. I enjoyed my chicken cilantro tacos and fries. Best before you get on a flight # 3. Good place to stop prior to MCI from KC. Get gas, then get a bite to eat and enjoy the local atmosphere on my way back home. It's better than comfort food. Stop by Peanuts Good stuff.

Bird Bomb in the forefront, Roadhouse Burger in the background.

Hubs and I had lunch here today. I had the Bird Bomb and he had the Roadhouse burger. We both had tots as the side. He has some beer and i had a margarita. Food was good for the most part. Hubby said his burger was a little over cooked, but he enjoyed it. The Bird Bomb is like a tenderloin style smashed chicken breast, which i think was great. It had this spicy/sweet slaw on it. Very good. Tots were extra crispy . The margarita was mostly mixer, so i probably wouldn't buy another one of those. Overall, service was great, nice and clean inside. It's a sports bar, so there were of course TVs everywhere. We will go back for sure.

!!WORLD-CLASS WINGS!! We visited The Peanut after my wife had been there with friends from work. She was sure I'd enjoy the wings and she knows me well. The wings are huge and I barely got six down. I wasn't a fan of the house sauce as it is vinegar based which I don't care for but that's just me. The atmosphere is loud - it's a sports bar - and it was busy but the wait staff got it done. It did take a while (20-25 minutes) for the wings to come out which they tell you up front so do keep that in mind. If you find yourself jonesing for wings, The Peanut should be at the top of your list. I certainly recommend it!

A little wait for the wings but definitely worth it! The BLT WAS DELICIOUS! Great service!

    Burger and onion rings

Great local bar. Came here while visiting family because our uncle has been going here for years. The wings are MONSTER size. Probably part of why they say they are the best wings in KC. They will definitely fill you up. I also enjoyed the onion rings. They weren't dried out and the batter was nice. Enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere. Servers are nice even when really busy which they were. If the kitchen is backed up, expect a wait for your food but when it arrives you will likely not care.

Slow. Relaxing. Unhurried. Feels like a place that has existed for decades. Feels good here…read more The oysters we had were the best we've had in the Midwest. Easily. I mentioned the sort of oysters just as a reference (and yes I was asked this) We each had one of the following: Aphrodite, Birthday Girl, Blackstone. Delicious. Like a mouthful of the sea in one bite. We also had the Molten Scallop and Shrimp Dip. Warm. Deep flavor. A stick of butter? Maybe. Who cares? Yum. Butter soaked crostini. Oh yeah, cocktails. That came first. I had a Saffron Honey Manhattan. Super balanced. She had a Rose Spritzer. gin, lemon, St. Germain, and... stuff. She had the Norwegian Ocean Trout. Expertly prepared. Perfect skin. Perfectly medium and soft. So good. More nuanced than salmon? I had the Chicken Fried Halibut Clavicle. I would normally order lighter and more toward raw or lightly cooked dishes. Having someone prepare an underused part of a fish... in the Midwest? I had to do it. Photos won't do that plate justice (because it was deep fried), but let me put it this way: if you're a "white meat" chicken person, you're probably happy with a halibut filet. But if you're a chicken thigh person... this is your order. Clavicle bones are angular and sorta fluted so a lot of the meat is contacting bone. Insanely moist and flavorful, but just as snow-white. Atop a bed of country mashed potatoes and sage gravy, and collard greens. Loved it. More food than the photo shows. Wow. I didn't expect that. Must have been a large fish to begin with. The counter downstairs looks cool, but the view from above provides a grounded sense of space for downtown. This place looks good on Parkville... but Parkville looks good on this place. We have lived here 13 years and have longed for a proper place to occupy the best physical space in the street. Nailed it. A great date night made better by our experience here.

Last minute 9pm reservation on a Friday for the Chef's Counter:…read moreUpon walking in the counter was still occupied with the previous reservation, the host walked us over to the "waiting counter" which is standing table bench along the staircase. We were served cocktails and our oyster platter there and were able to enjoy them before we were seated for our main dinning experience. The oysters were a beautiful curation of West and East coast selections and were served with a red wine vinegar mignonette and a seasonal Serrano ginger lime tincture which paired beautifully with our west coast selections. The cocktails to start were the pineapple sage margarita, and a saffron infused manhattan. The flavors were crispy, sweet, and paired well with the oysters. Once the counter was open we promptly sat and were straight into the Chef bites, a few glasses of white wine (Riesling and the pino gris) and our first course. We enjoyed a curated round of small bites Chef prepared through out the meal, charred steelhead trout with a belly tartar (beautiful smoky flavors combined with the homemade aioli and fatty belly was the favorite bite of the night) we enjoyed a crispy skin grouper cheek in a dashi and daikon broth, red Argentina shrimp on a toasted bread point with homemade lemon ricotta, and the sweet end to our meal with an avocado ice cream with chicharrone crumbs) The small plates we enjoyed were the stone fruit salad (the arugula had an amazing bite to it and paired well with the honey and the toasted nuts) the fruit was perfectly ripe and sweetened the deal. The yellow tail crudo was fresh and had deliciously soft edamame. The frito miso was a suggestion from our waitress since the mussels were out of stock, we were most pleased! It was light fried fish, caramel and vinegar dressed greens that balanced out the oiliness of the dish, and everything was a light crispy fry, highly recommend! The octopus was perfectly cooked, nice char, and paired well with the white beans and the crispy potatoes. The star of the entrees we had was the risotto, kindly made by just a 19yr old aspiring chef. She made it perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned, and the fish had a crispy sear with a black pepper finish that elevated the dish beyond expectations. Overall the food, atmosphere, the chefs, and the curated small bites were just the perfect balance of fine dining and small town hospitality. Will be coming back for those mussels soon!

The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

When you arrive there is parallel parking available outside the bar. When you walk in you'll feel like your bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly welcoming. Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. Between the creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, unique floral setting, this was a memorable experience I'd definitely return for.
