What's the skinny on this place everyone wants to know...well wait no further heres some reviews on pieces of the menu. Overall this place is fun, exciting and has a bit of something for everyone. Wanting to chill at the bar and watch a game...they have it, wanna enjoy some old school arcades and skee ball...yep 2nd floor. This place is great for date night, gals/guys night, happy hour, kid bonding, team lunches...etc. Here's to expanding downtown...to something that if fun. Apps Tater Tot Nachos - decent, worth sharing, hard to mix across a group since they are tater tots. Don't mistake the fried avocado bits for fried jalapenos. Fried Mac & Cheese - CROWD PLEASER!!! This one comes out in three meatball like balls....with some cheesy sauce and dipping sauce. Fried Pickle Spears - Can't just have one...these spears have the right amount of batter to pickle that it leaves you with wanting one more bite. You get about 5 spears on this one. Onion Rings - so/so, big plate of them but nothing too hot to rave about. Good to share. Burgers Bourbonator - decent, would have liked the jam to be more pronounced, but the "in cognito" would be to layer on some of the onion rings and this baby is a pleaser. My Boy Blue - great mix of the tanginess of the blue cheese with the red onion mix...ask for extra blue cheese Picante - try this bad boy with the Fried Chicken instead of the beef...both are equally as good...also might add the shoestring haystack for the additional enhancer Pennant Original - your standard burger...nice flavor and size. Fries - share share share share share...the 1/2 order can be shared with 2 people. Can't comment on the larger order. Jalapeno Goodness - yes goodness to the heat. They jalapenos aren't mild, but these are tasty and you can't just have one. Buffalo - okish, think buffalo wing sauce with blue cheese crumbles. The fries get a bit soggy but overall good. Roasted Garlic Parmesan - #2 choice after the jalapeno goodness. Twisted Poutine - there is some work on these that need to be done. Not a fan favorite gravy needs to be tweaked a bit. Always a fun time here. I love eating & then going to the arcade upstairs. I have yet to try bowling but I will next time. It's really about the games and atmosphere, they go all out for different themes throughout the year. May the 4th be with you is probably my favorite. Food is typical bar food that takes a while to get. Service has always been good and staff are friendly. Draft beer selection on the other hand is poor. Out of 12 tap beers 8 are IPA? No one likes IPA, it's just a trend. Stick to a cocktail or a bottle of domestic. It's basically a classic Dave &Busters with vintage Arcade games. And they finally put new carpet on the skee-ball to dampen that noise. Enjoy. read more

First time here. Really enjoyed it! We had the Thai Cauliflower as an appetizer. It was spicy and delicious. The peanut dipping sauce was perfect with it. For dinner I had the Cubano and it was very good. My wife had the Pollo Loco sandwich and she solved it. The fries pictured here are very good. Sweet potato with a marshmallow drizzle. The venue is super clean and very well laid out. The servers are very kind and attentive. Did not get to try the milkshakes but they all look delicious!! I ordered the bourbonator, it was very tasty meat, nice quality, but with everything together it was kind of soggy and too much breading. The original burger again was very plain, non wow worthy but it was decent quality meat. The cheese curls (curly fries with cheese and bacon) were great! A very fun establishment with very good burgers, different flavor of fries, malts adult beverages etc. They have a downstairs bowling alley and an arcade with pinball, video games, skee ball, with prepaid cards to use instead of coins. The Pennant is a great addition to Downtown Topeka and is a fun spot for families or to just hangout with friends. They have the downstairs area with bowling and an arcade upstairs. We went on a Friday evening and they had a deal for a 2 for 20.00 that included one appetizer and two entrees. We chose the White Queso with chips, Riskey Ruben and the Burnin Barbacoa which is the 2020 Top City Food Champion. The Ruben is probably the best I have had in a while and the chips are enough for 4 to share. The burger is like a taste explosion in your mouth and a very delicious spin on a burger. I chose this place for a birthday dinner and for the arcade which had unlimited play for $5.00, they even have cones on the machine so they know once they're taken off that the machine should be sanitized. I would have rated 4.5/5 stars if Yelp would have Everything seemed to be created from fresh ingredients. 5/5 The sandwich lacked a little zing that commonly comes from Cuban foods and had more of a sweet flavor. I put a little mustard on the sandwich to pair with the pickles and that really brought the sandwich together, but that's just my opinion. 4/5 The fries were the star of this dish, I highly encourage anyone that likes spicy fries to give them a shot. Atmosphere was pretty good. I opted to try the original pennant burger and timeless fries. For the burger, it was hooked exactly how I ordered. However, it lacked flavor and reminded me of something you could whip up at home on the grill. Nothing amazing. The fries were a home run! Battered with the right amount of crispy breading and salt. I was really hoping to have a better experience, but unfortunately fell short, especially since the burger alone was $10. For the price, I expected excellent taste, but almost felt robbed due to my expectations. Would recommend trying a different dish instead of the burgers. WHAT. The worst thing about this place is the parking (parking garages in Topeka aren't a normal place to be, and it's really the only option. BUT they do validate BUT the tickets wouldn't work BUT we called someone and they helped us). We got tator tot nachos and they were delicious. They put the queso on the bottom, which I think is genius because it keeps the tots crispy. I got the big Apple, which is a pork belly burger with apple chips and I'm still thinking about it. He recommended the Cauliflower or Black Bean patties on the Gluten Free Bun, which he said would be vegan. I truly think the only reason this place gets good reviews is the ambiance and the milkshakes. The food is nothing spectacular and the service is never consistent. The last time I was there on a Saturday night the bar was packed and they were pushing people out at 9pm because they wanted to close.
