Hands down one of the best meals of my life. After doing a winter vacation out in Montauk, my family and I stopped here on our way back in, and I'm so glad we did. The Bridgehampton Inn is beautiful and historic -- feels like you're stepping back in time without it feeling modern or outdated. We were seated near the fireplace which was appreciated since it was such a cold day. I loved the artwork and modern touches, like the fun orange-swirled water glasses. We were lucky enough to come during Restaurant Week, so we had the opportunity to sample a bit of everything on the menu. We kicked things off with the tuna tartare, topped with wasabi caviar and crispy potatoes that were the perfect vessel for devouring this dish. We also got the seared foie gras on top of prosciutto, which was decadent and well balanced with the fig preserves. We also tried the escargot which was a standout -- soft and delicious, topped with garlic and parsley and served with fresh bread. For entrees, we had the local flounder with spinach and cauliflower puree which was fresh and delicious. The Berkshire pork guanciale was rich and tender, paired with freshly sauteed vegetables. The wagyu short ribs were the stand out for me -- served with crispy brussels sprouts and truffle mashed potatoes. Dessert was also out of this world. The hazelnut panna cotta had so much flavor that it won over my mom - a lifelong panna cotta hater. The Basque cheesecake was made perfectly, the right balance of cheesy and sweet. The strawberries with mascarpone cream were fresh with just the right berry to cream ratio. I literally dream about this dinner, and hope to return the next time I'm in the area. read more

The ambiance is charming and cozy, with that classic Hamptons elegance that makes you want to linger over dessert. We were honestly surprised that we haven't been here all these years--it's truly a gem that deserves all the praise it gets. The only small downside was the maitre d', who came across a bit less welcoming than the rest of the team. Four of us went here for dinner...and we left with two takeaways: it was arguably the worst food we've ever eaten; and it was the most outrageously overpriced menu we've ever seen! Pasta for $52, for example. One single soft shell crab $36. Just look at the menu! The food: the "Eggplant Lasagna with Fresh Mozzarella and Pomodoro Sauce" was just a soggy lump of cheese hiding a greasy slice of eggplant. The $46 bucatini was so heavy, cheesy, dry and bland, I could only tolerate a few bites (because I was hungry) and the left 3/4 of it on the table. The soft shell crab was a greasy mess with breadcrumbs. And the $56 "Grass Fed Filet Mignon with Sautéed Asparagus & Lobster Potato Puree with a Morel Mushroom Sauce" was a shoe leather tough chunk of meat with a 2-3 spears of asparagus and a spoonful of potato puree. Total tab for this disaster of a dinner: over $450. We felt so ripped off. Service: three changes of wait staff left us wondering who our server actually was. One of them was a nose-ringed, heavily tattooed woman in black...not what you'd expect for a place that considers itself elegant haute cuisine. It's Sunday night and we had a 6:30pm reservation. Upon arrival we were seated promptly to a nice table overlooking the beautiful patio. We perused the wine list but decided not to order any wine BTG because the markups were obscene. Mondavi SAV Blanc $20 ??? Others 50% more than retail... So we started with apps. Fried Artichoke, Beets & Goat cheese and a nice summer salad with blueberries & peaches. Portions were plentiful and tasty with the exception of the artichokes which were heavily breaded and seemed more appropriate for a sports bar. The mains. We ordered 2 Halibut's ($52) 1 order Sea Scallops ($48) & 1 Tai Shrimp dish. Everyone enjoyed them and once again the portions sizes were great, especially the scallops which had 7 pieces. Our waiter did an ok job but when the bill came on the tableside machine requested a tip of 20%-22%-25% option. He deserved 18% but received 20% rather than deal with it. The Home Workout is a tall order. The perfect drink to unwind with after a long day. Almost every table had the exact same cocktail. Shared the tuna/crab roll, which we expected to be like a fried egg roll. instead it was 2 large pieces of tuna sashimi over crabmeat. it was excellent. tasty, and not overly filling for an appetizer. For a main course i had the chicken, because i was feeling a bit boring. The dish was well presented, tasty, and juicy, with a side of sweet potato purée, and a tangy sauce. i didnt have a drink, but others in our party did, and everyone seemed to enjoy what they were served. The indoor dining that spills to the outdoor courtyard is so wonderful, and if the outdoor vibe isn't your thing you can sit indoors and view the beautiful courtyard within. We find the staff to be super professional, courteous, and very attentive. They are knowledgeable about the menu, allergies, and the bar options. I have severe dairy allergies and trust the staff completely with my orders. The chef is super creative and mixes up the menu on a regular basis with seasonal options. This by far is one of our best finds. As our car broke down but a block away from the Bridgehampton Inn & Restaurant we just had to ask if there was room for two more for dinner. Met at the door by Sybelle the owner with the warmest of welcomes we were ushered out to the patio. How enchanting. John was wonderful as he listened to our auto-tale of woe he was so empathetic from there nothing was a miss. Elena our waitress was amazing. Our Filet Mignons were cooked to perfection and the Peach Napoleon was delicious with a personal French-press cafe. We shall return very soon. This review is for dinner. We had a lovely experience here. Despite being very late for our reservation, we were greeted with kindness and understanding and shown to a table immediately. It the small human gestures like this that can really level up an experience. We were seated at a lovely table in the outdoor patio area. Cerene checked us in and she was just amazing! I felt compelled to write this review because of her. We loved her dynamic personality and lots of local insight (she told us she has been there for over 20 years.) We stayed at the hotel and ate breakfast at the restaurant the next morning. The hotel rooms are older but well kept. It felt like we were staying in a room in someone's house. Breakfast the next morning was amazing! The coffee was on point, homemade wheat bread to die for, and the breakfast ham cured by the restaurant was mouth-watering. The location is running distance to the beach ~2.5 miles which was a plus. We loved it and would definitely stay again. There are not many big name hotel options in the area so we had to dial back our expectations a bit, but Cerene and breakfast made up for it. read more

If you're looking for a relaxed holiday, this is not the place. We were looking for a place to get away for a few days in the Hamptons, and this accommodation was one of the top options. Aside from our opinion that the innkeeper was extremely unpleasant to us and to other guests, the place itself is very average. We were surprised, given the reviews. We soon learnt that the good reviews were for the restaurant, and not the accommodation. Don't be fooled. Cons: - IT IS NOISY!!! We could hear dogs barking from the room next to ours, loud chatter, banging from the kitchen, the road noise, guests walking up and down the stairs and banging doors. Terrible, terrible sound insulation. It was actually incredible. If you're looking for a quiet getaway - this is NOT the place. - No one is on the premises to help you out with needs during your stay. The innkeeper is there during various time (mind you, she wasn't even there for us to check in!), and there is no security. - The AC/heating is almost non-existent (this is presumably because it's an old place). If you're sensitive to heat or cold, this place isn't for you. - The "free breakfast" part of the bed and breakfast is that you can pick one very small dish, with a coffee - the food isn't great, and it's not worth the additional costs. Average quality, average meal. - TVs are small, small, small and ancient - don't expect to lie in bed and watch TV on a nice/big TV. Pros: - Shower pressure was ACTUALLY very good! - Location is super convenient to walk around Bridgehampton, and there is free parking for guests. - Bed is very soft (if you like soft beds) and there are plenty of quilts and towels provided. I have stayed at the Bridgehampton Inn the past 2 summers. The first time we were there during the summer of 2022 and we stayed in the old building for a long weekend. My first issue with it is that there is no coffee in the room available. While the Inn provides breakfast, there is no coffee station, so the only way to get coffee is to sit down for breakfast. My husband and I do not always eat breakfast, so sometime we just went down and asked for coffee and it was as if we were asking for something crazy - the staff made such a big production to bring us 2 cups of coffee! Plus, we could hear everything from the kitchen as our room was above it - so we could hear the breakfast set-up and the post dinner clean up. So when we left, the Inn Keeper advised us to try the newer building for our next stay, since it would not be loud with street traffic (since some rooms are right on the main road 27) nor above the kitchen and bar. So this past year, I booked a week in the new building that the Inn Keeper said would not be noisy. I corresponded via email about the room months in advance. When we arrived, she said someone at the Inn made a mistake and had given away our room. Thus, we were given a room in the old building that is right on the main street - even louder than last time. And there was no apology from her, she was just rude. She said she could eventually move us after someone checked out a couple days later. Then I also checked to see if she received my email that we needed to depart one night earlier. Again, she was very rude and said there policy has a strict cancellation. I thought she would say something along the lines of we will let one night go this time since you are here for 6 nights and also we (the Inn) also messed up. But she did not, and was very rude. i do see positive reviews here but our experience this past weekend was beyond horrible. We were a party of four and directed to our table by the maitre d. Our drink order was taken by a server who really should not be working at such a lovely place. Drinks were served, menus dropped but no server to take our order for quite some time until I made eye contact with the maitre d. she finally came over and took our order. Food was served but nowhere to be found was our server...how are your meals.. prepared to your liking?? No request for another drink or water refills. Dishes finally whisked away and a sheet of paper for desserts also dropped at our seats. Then she returns to pick them up ... never asking us for a dessert order, coffee, tea or anything else. She then returns immediately with the check and begins to hover over my husbands shoulder as he prepares to sign the credit card device. She doesn't leave but continues to stand there. Her job was just to get the order taken and get the bill paid. We received a pretty hefty bill for four people, I confronted the maitre d who said he was sorry we did not enjoy our dinner. i wrote an email to the owner and she too said she was sorry and suggested we return on a Sunday night where there is no corkage fee to make our bill more palatable. Are you kidding me???! Is that how you handle an unhappy customer? We will never patronize this place again. Too bad because the food was pretty good..an odd menu but it was tasty. Foie Gras was amazing with a rhubarb compote, but needed a crisp crostini or bread crisp, they eventually brought us toasted wheat bread. Not that great with the perfectly cooked foie gras. Corn bread is sweet and light with a honey butter. Corn soup needed a bit of zest so we added some house smoked and dried chili pepper. Asparagus fritters were a bit greasy and lacked flavor but we still devoured. Star of the night was the perfectly cooked Halibut with a creamed truffle sauce. Perfect. Halibut was juicy and tender, truffle sauce tasted like a yummy green peppercorn sauce enhanced with truffles. Crispy soft shelled crab with brown butter, capers and snow pea sprouts was juicy and sweet. Duck leg paella was moist and smokey flavors that give the paella its famous name. Yummmy. Fried artichoke hearts were a bit greasy but the sauce was good for dipping. A few mis-steps but amazing ambiance and BEST waitstaff and genius mixologist kyle and dinner was impeccable. Ok so I was super excited to go here Because their menu and monthly menu change is so appealing in the Land of the tuna tartare , fried calamari and burgers We ordered the beet Reuben flatbread which was tasty and different a success and the fried green beans also yummy to start For mains , the mushroom curry was a huge disappointment terrible appearance and texture and no flavor except spicy I couldn't even tell what were the mushrooms and the sauce was felt like something they reheated last well and to finish it the rice was totally over cooked Also ordered the salmon fritters which were good but I recommend half portion and ordering a side ( not the rice) We ordered desserts , the lemon blueberry pierogies were pleasant in texture but devoid of flavor never would have known there was a lemon flavor there and the blueberries were just bland and raw The coconut cheesecake again texture was ok a little heavy but devoid of coconut flavor So I hope they can keep working on getting their flavors and concentrate on taste because I would hate to lose a place that's got some kind of individuality in their menu I would give it another try maybe in a month or so... read more

As someone that has visited the Bridgehampton Inn Restaurant on multiple occasions over the last year I can say that there is a notable difference in the quality of the food since the new chef took over. While the former chef did his job well enough, I have to compliment the owner for her choice in hiring Chef Szostak. He's turned what was already a lovely evening with very good food into an adventure of mouthwatering proportion. The flair of flavor combinations brought about in each dish these days is to die for! The small plates are tasty teases and the large are simply the product of an man who has chosen fresh and local ingredients to be the medium for his artwork. In addition, the cocktails and spirited libations of the house mixologist, aka Kyle #1, are crafted to fit each new menu with a precision and passion that transcends the average idea of drink pairing into a wow factor that has gained a following of curious customers eager to see what comes next. We are not complainers and pretty easy going and only write a review when it is necessary. Let me begin by saying we have eaten here in the last four years a few times and have never experienced such terrible food and service. A friend called to reserve a private room for our 70th birthday celebration weeks in advance and called to confirm that room and when we arrived we were told by the owner (who never revealed she was the owner at that point) that she was the night person and didn't know anything and that the room was already set for other parties. We were 8 people and we went to another area of the restaurant, which was equally as lovely to not ruin the night. Then the waitress came and she appeared to be extra nervous and was almost to the point of rude. We actually all said there is something wrong with her maybe? She could not get the order straight and the drinks came out a few at a time. Maybe she was new? Then the appetizers came out also a few at a time, some luke warm.... but we were still determined to have a good time. Now the entrees and her attitude was still so off ! Two of the entrees were completely overdone and she took them back. There was only one person out of the 8 who enjoyed their dinner. The person who made the reservation recognized the owner and asked her to come to the table to apologize to us, as she was in charge of this surprise dinner. The person who made the reservation was so upset because she had planned this so long ago and was trying to surprise us. When the owner came, she was pleasant enough and explained she was sorry for the mishap, but did not offer an explanation as to why she said she was the night person. My friend who made the reservation persisted and asked why did you tell me you were the night person? She claimed she mis-understood the question? REALLY.... We proceeded to tell her how rude the waitress was. All she said was "this was one of her most experienced servers but that the kitchen told her that this waitress appeared to be having a bad night!" She apologized and that was it, she started to make small talk about who were the birthday people??? Rude comments, terrible service, lack of drinks brought out at the same time, food also came out at different times, some luke warm. You name, it happened. We all decided we were leaving and didn't want coffee or dessert there and the owner was now trying to salvage our night by coming out with two desserts for the table when we were waiting for our bill to leave. That was all ok HOWEVER we repeated ourselves over and over "please just bring us the bill, we DO NOT WANT any dessert"...three people did not eat at all, food was overdone and sent back...the fourth person received a piece of sword fish that was literally the size of a three inch triangle for a hefty price and the birthday person received a duck dinner that was five "very small thumbnail sized" pieces of duck with rice on a plate. This dinner took from 7pm to almost 10 pm to come out and be served with drinks and appetizers and entrees. It was a terrible night and when we got the bill it was $600.00 and mind you three people did not eat at all and others pushed their food around the plate because it was luke warm or not good! Each person had no more than two drinks so this was just a disaster. They did take off two dinners from the bill, however, If the owner realized what went wrong why didn't she say she would adjust the bill accordingly? All 8 people live out east and have frequented this place as I said for over 4 years many times....if she valued the future business she should have changed the waitress after the drinks and certainly adjusted the bill a lot more! She has lost our business for sure and this dinner was after season! What happens during the season at this INN??? read more

A charming shingle house with well-prepared food and attentive staff, near perfect evening. This restaurant is an offshoot of a popular nearby Kitchen supply store known as Loaves & Fishes. Which brings me to a minor annoyance, where were the loaves? No bread on the table, no buns, rolls, muffins, bread sticks, or cakes of any nature. Seems an odd omission for an upscale dining experience and one that is east to fix. Certainly will be going back, but need some loaves. read more
