I've been a loyal supporter of Perfect Petal for years. I was sad to visit today and see the woman working behind the counter with a mask hanging off one ear, and another customer in the store allowed to shop without a mask, despite the signage. I work in healthcare and have seen firsthand how effective mask use is at protecting those around, and how reckless it is to allow a business to function without infection control practices in place. I left immediately today and don't intend on returning any time soon. read more

This is my husbands favorite flower shop! He always brings home the most gorgeous bouquets. I personally haven't worked with them before until last week when my husband had a bouquet sent to me. Unfortunately, the flowers died within a couple of days. I gave them a call and told them what happened; so they offered to make me a hand bouquet. Where to start, I can not say enough good things about this florist. My son's wedding was moved around, due to Covid we finally settled on a micro wedding Feb. 13th. With only about a month to plan and me being in Los Angeles and not from Denver, Kendall the designer was more than amazing and totally took care of us. We planned everything over the phone/internet. And the flowers were perfect!!! I really felt Like she was as invested in this being beautiful as we were. What a joke. I have been here twice and both times I needed to send my flowers back because instructions weren't followed. I asked for a very specific arrangement with very specific colors and requested there be no traditional flowers and I received roses and carnations. To spend nearly 300.00 on 2 bouquets full of carnations and roses is unbelievable. Not to mention, they looked like a toddler had arranged them. When I told them how I needed the arrangements fixed, I was met with frustration as they were out of all the flowers I requested. I should have received a phone call explaining that they couldn't make the arrangements I asked for and would I be ok with another arrangement. They refused a refund despite the fact they were out of the flowers I asked for! I could have bought flowers at whole foods and made a better arrangement myself for half the price. I overheard another woman picking up her flowers and she asked "are they supposed to be droopy?" to which the florist replied "that's the look right now, that is how they arrived and that's all we have" - Are you kidding me?! I walked out with bouquets that I suspect won't last very long and I'm pretty sure that woman left with a droopy bouquet that won't last the car ride home. People need to have higher expectations so these businesses learn to have a standard that is worth what they are charging. This review got quite long because my love for this shop is REAL. So I'll give you the short and the long. The short: Imagine if Anthropologie opened a shop selling only their most fun home and bath goods and jewelry, plus added a flower shop- this would be it. You can find a gift for pretty much anyone here. High quality and unique. You won't find most of what's in the shop in any of the other boutiques in town. Go now! Run! If anyone from the shop is reading this, I must do a staff shout out: I'm not sure if she's the owner or manager- but there's a young woman with very dark hair who is always there when I walk in. She is lovely! Knowledgeable, will help you place special orders with her artists (I wanted a particular pair of earrings in white instead of black for example). She has the perfect balance of helping you and leaving you alone to walk 20 laps around the store taking everything in. Not everyone in retail gets that- and her way of handling customers is a big part of why I love coming in. She would let me be if I walked around the store for an hour only to buy a caramel or candle and still be lovely. If she's not the owner- I hope she gets the recognition she deserves! Okay, The Long Detailed Version of Why I Am Obsessed With This Shop! : This might be my favorite shop in Denver. It's a beautifully curated gift shop that also makes incredible high end floral arrangements. If you want to get an impressive gift for someone- or yourself- this is the shop. If you're like me and love to browse, this is a great place. There's just so much, it's set up wonderfully and everything is interesting and unique. I spend close to half an hour just walking through it every time I'm in the store. Everything in here is high quality and could easily be gifted. It's truly a 'gift shop'. The price point is a bit higher than some of the other kitschy shops in the area but the pricing is completely fair, that's because of the quality of the merchandise. These are $30 gifting candles, a special jar of matches you want to display. The inventory is always changing, but maintains the same general sense. This was the worst florist I have ever ordered from and I've been buying flowers for 20+ years in several states. The $75 arrangement looked like a 5 year old put it together. Please see pics. When I called to question it, they said, "you only spent $75 (PLUS tax and delivery $90.00). I was appalled. Their customer service was horrendous. The first time the flowers were delivered, the driver insisted the flowers be brought to my GF (she was in an important meeting with three executives) They forgot my requests when delivering the second bouquet, so the went back to where my girlfriend teaches and interupelted her class to take a picture of the bouquet. (The picture was supposed to be sent to be BEFORE the delivery.) they are THE WORST! Order from anyone else. In the end, they sent a nice replacement bouquet but after 10 mistakes between flowers and customer service, it was a disaster. Sandie at The Perfect Petal created my "smashing" and completely fabulous wedding bouquet for our May wedding. We met a month or so before the big day and she patiently listened to me as I named my favorite blossoms. But with little more than colors (bright orange and hot pink) and my request that the bouquet be "whimsical", Sandie exceeded my wildest expectations, creating the most spectacular combination of ranunculas, peonies, gerbera daisies, anemones, and so much more--even kumquats!--in the most amazing and splashy bouquet! It was breathtaking! She had also designed a beautiful table arrangement with trailing asparagus vine for our rehearsal dinner table using subtle hues forecasting the brilliant colors of the wedding to follow the next day. This is my absolute favorite boutique! It's super trendy and unique. Their flowers arrangements are by far the most beautiful you will find in the area. I always find really nice gifts for friends and family. Parking can be a little difficult sometimes so you can park in the neighborhood and walk up a block or two. You will want to hangout after you are done checking this cute place out. There are two amazing Mexican restaurants right next to them and tons of awesome stores so plan on staying for a couple hours. You won't be disappointed. My friend sent me flowers and was very clear, even had them repeat it back to him twice, that he wanted the flowers left on the front porch. When my friend called because he was upset that I went to pick them up, they said they had told the delivery person the instructions but that he was old. WTF? The card was meant to congratulate me on an event. The name of the event wasn't capitalized and they got the name of the event incorrect. I used The Perfect Petal for my wedding flowers. My flowers turned out to be beautiful and everyone complimented me on them. The quality of the arrangements is without a doubt, top notch. The customer service I received on the other hand? Eh, not so much. I am not going to name names, but I was really disappointed in the care I received from the florist who helped my husband and I with our wedding flowers. Our initial meeting was wonderful and I really felt that the florist was understanding my wants and would create the most perfect flowers for our big day. After our meeting, trying to get any type of response from the florist was as easy as bathing a cat. I would email and leave messages only for them to go unanswered for weeks at a time. When my bakery needed to know what types of flowers we would be having so they could incorporate them into our cake design, I literally had to call the store and beg them to have the florist call me back. This was after 2 weeks of unreturned emails and voicemails. When I did receive the names/colors of the flowers that would be in my bouquet I was at a loss. The color of the flowers wasn't a wedding color, there were flowers I specifically asked not to be included, and the whole thing was just off. I requested a second meeting with the florist and this meeting was just awkward. She seemed pissed that I was taking up her time and was very condescending. As much as I loved the finished product, I can't say that I would recommend The Perfect Petal for wedding flowers to my friends who will be getting married. Bottom line: Not the best customer service, but beautiful work, pricey. I was SO EXCITED to meet with the Perfect Petal last year when planning my wedding, and showed up a few minutes before my appointment. I could see that the designer was still with her appointment on the upper-level of the store, so my husband (then fiance) and I browsed the cute gift shop they have. Five minutes until my appointment, the designer and prospective bride were still in the throes of the appointment. Then my appointment time came and went; the designer was still working with the client. Some people working there could see that I was peering over to the floral area, knew my appointment time, and assured me that the designer would be with me "in a few minutes." Long story short, the designer went over 20 MINUTES into our appointment time with no apologies whatsoever. We ended up having to stay longer, but the designer had some good ideas, and I left a little less steamy than when the appointment started. Correspondence was incredibly spotty in getting a contract completed, so much that I was beyond fed up, and decided to meet (and ended up going with) Elizabeth at Delilah's. Delilah's did a great job, and I would highly recommend them. They also were able to deliver my flowers to the venue WITHOUT a minimum order, as Perfect Petal does (unless they have changed policies since last year). read more

Achoo! I have some pollen allergies, and flower stores make me sneeze. This one, though, is worth the phleghm- and I'm not even a flower girl. As I've always told my boy- don't get me flowers. Get me GOOD dark chocolate, and get my rats and dog something new, and I'll be happy whatever the occasion is. I don't do jewelry, frou frou clothes, or flowers. Except lavender. I have a real thing for lavender. I'd like to have a whole yard full of lavender someday. So, I wandered in here to see if I could grow lavender in a big pot in a corner in my house. As it turns out, that's not a great idea- not impossible, but it'd require a pretty huge pot and wouldn't really be happy. So no indoor lavender for me. But I did get to plant my peepers on an impressive array of flowers that rivals any I've seen at nurseries- and I got to grill a very smart staffer on how to grow lavender, and it's not even her area of expertise- they're flower arrangers, not gardeners. If your girl, unlike me, won't just look at any flowers you bring her and go, "And what am I supposed to do with those until they die?" this would be a great place to get her a gift. Especially if you owe an apology. These are some darned purdy flowers. read more

My air plant had terrible mealybugs! Only had the plant eight hours. As soon as I realized that half the plant was dying I called to get the issue resolved. The store manager asked me what I did to the plant?!? Terrible customer service from him. This plant was overpriced AND is now going in the trash to avoid infecting the rest of my house. $40 lesson learned... I will not go back. I currently live in SF and wanted to send my grandmother in Denver a very special and unique floral arrangement for her 80th birthday. After doing proper due diligence on yelp, I decided to go with the Perfect Petal - I placed my order online at about 5:30 PM the day before her birthday/desired delivery. Now, let me tell you something about myself: I am RIDICULOUSLY picky when it comes to flowers. I can't stand those teleflora bouquets with daisies, big lilies, carnations, ugly roses, cheap-looking filler flowers (carnations, alstroemeria, asters, etc), those awful "keepsake" vases...I kid you not, the list goes on and on. In the special instructions section of Perfect Petal's online order form, I told them exactly what flowers/accents I like, as well as what to avoid. I also emphasized my desire for a natural-looking arrangement, with rich fall colors and varied textures. After submitting my online order, a really nice woman from the shop called me within 30 minutes to follow up. I walked her through my special instructions (and also apologized for being so fussy with all my specifications), but she was super-chill about it and just seemed to "get" my particular vision. It was a quick and painless conversation - no dumb questions asked, just straight and to-the-point. I hung up with 100% confidence that my grandma would be getting something perfect, something that actually resembled what I had in mind. My grandma called this afternoon, excited to tell me how much she ADORED the arrangement - it had just been delivered to her (within the exact timeframe Perfect Petal had promised) , and she was blown away by its beauty. She sent a photo, and I too was delighted - the floral designer totally nailed it, tailoring the arrangement to my suggestions/style preferences while also incorporating her own unique and creative design choices. While the arrangement I bought for Mother's day was exotic and unique, I must say I'm very disappointed with how long they lasted, considering how much I spent. After only three days my flowers are beginning to wilt and die off. I've had bouquets from the grocery store last a couple of weeks for a quarter of the price that I paid at The Perfect Petal. On the brighter side, I did get an air plant from here a couple of months ago that has been holding up well (although they are extremely easy to care for). The Perfect Petal (PP) was excellent when my friend lost her mom. I must say that my experience severely contrasts with a review below in a similar situation. The loss came when I was in Texas. I was not able to do much in terms of being there for a friend. The best I could do was send flowers and make condolence phone calls. I called PP and they helped set me up with a nice arrangement. I placed my order at the very end of the day (bad planning, I know) but they made the effort and delivered it to her house after hours. They've been reliable and extremely accommodating in my experience. I would definitely use them again. read more
