I can vouch for all of the trainers at the West Los Angeles branch, especially Todd with whom I train most of the time. The trainers ask about goals, prior injuries, and current activity level, then customize the plan accordingly. They are always punctual, courteous, and clearly experienced. I've been going to Perfect Workout (West LA) for over 10 years. Perfect Workout is a trainer-based, slow motion resistance protocol. During my time there, I've had several different trainers. Absolutely all of them have been highly professional, extremely focused on my training and safety. In the instances where I've had an injury (never from the Workout), the trainers have modified my regimen until I've recovered, and EVERY trainer asks about any injuries or body issues before each workout. I look forward to these workouts, twice a week. We have developed different routines for the different days, so that there is not an issue of complacency. Over the years, my trainers have also examined adjustments to machines to improve my workout in terms of seat position/angle; actual weights, rhythm, etc., to optimize my workout. I have been training at Perfect Workout for about 10 months now and my experience has been excellent in many ways. First of all strength training for 20 minutes has worked for me. I am leaner and stronger! My trainer is Lisa and she is the Bomb! She is always there, I listen and trust her as she gently pushes me to do better and better. In August 2023, I had a bone density scan and was diagnosed with osteopenia and I had to do something. I wanted to start strength training, but I knew I needed some sort of trainer because I wouldn't push myself as hard as was necessary to get the best results. I started doing a little research and found the Perfect Workout. I went in for a consultation and decided to join. They didn't hard-sell me at all, but I knew this program fit my lifestyle really well. I've been going religiously ever since and I'm obsessed. I will have another bone scan this summer and am anxious to see the results, but I do know that I've gained so muscle that my doctor was shocked. When I told him about the workout I was doing he looked into it and at my next appointment he told me he was really impressed with the program and the science behind it. Here are a few things to know about it: 1) THE TRAINERS: They are incredibly knowledgable and helpful. I usually workout with Albert, who I LOVE and is my sweet baby angel, but I've worked out with several other trainers (Maher, Todd, Steph, Sean) and they've all been so great. It's actually kind of fun to mix it up once in a while to get a different perspective. I don't know their exact credentials in terms of education, training, etc., but you can tell they'e all highly qualified and the process to be a trainer at TPW is very thorough from what I've seen. Point is, you're in great hands. 2) THE ENVIRONMENT: It is calm and focused. There aren't a lot of people around, and it's quiet so you can really focus on getting the most out of your 20 minutes. There is absolutely no feeling intimidated by people in better shape or doing more than you, because you're only ever in the studio with 1 or maybe 2 more clients, and you're each so focused on your own workout with your dedicated trainer. 3) THE WORKOUT: It is INTENSE. It's an incredibly hard 20 minutes, but that's exactly why it works. And who can't give something their all for 20 minutes? For me, knowing I worked as hard as I could makes it even more rewarding. 4) THE COST: It is a great value. People often make the mistake of comparing the cost to $0. That's not the math I'm doing. I'm comparing it to what it might cost to get similar results in another setting. If you consider the results you'll get and the totally dedicated focus of a highly qualified trainer, TPW is much less expensive than a traditional trainer. Before the pandemic, I worked out with a trainer 3 times a week for several years, and spent about $15,000/year. I always felt like it was worth it because I was in good shape and it was an investment in my health. That was at a crowded gym, and took 90 minutes each time between getting there, doing my workout, and getting home. I'm getting way better results with TPW, for less than half that cost and about 1/3 of the time. It is so worth it! The only drawback is the location. This applies to me specificlly and may not be an issue for you at all because they have so many locations (another benefit!). I go to the Westside/Sawtelle studio. My drive to and from the studio takes twice as long as the workout itself and much of that time is spent in the tenth of a mile right around the studio because of the congestion. It's so annoying, but even with that factored in, it's still shorter than a traditional workout with a trainer at a typical gym. I have just come to accept that as a trade-off for the incredible benefits and results I've achieved, but I would love it if they opened another studio in Culver City, Marina del Rey, Westchester or Ladera Heights. :) The bottom line is that this program is innovative, completely accessible to all fitness levels and you WILL see great results. read more

My wife and I have been doing The Perfect Workout for several years by now. It is intense but quick!! You and the trainer are the only ones there, so there's no chance for others judging you. Usually we do about 6 machines (or weights) in the 20 minute session, and the trainer is always watching closely ("that shoulder is rising again...bring it back down") for proper form. Also, they always ask right away if you have any particular problems (sore spots, recent twisted ankle, whatever) so they can modify the workout accordingly. I work out with Sabrina at the Anaheim Hills studio, and she is just a ray of sunshine, I really feel like she helps me to reach my goals. But more about the perfect workout, it really isolates specific muscles and you have a trainer who trains with you for 20 minutes knocks it out of the park, I've been feeling stronger ever since I started. The way in which you do the slow isolated movements really kicks your butt in a short amount of time but really builds muscle, I'm thrilled that I found The Perfect Workout. I love trying new workouts (yoga, barre, crossfit, etc.) but have always had a hard time sticking to one method for more than a month. I finally decided that it was time to get some one-on-one training and work with professionals that could motivate me to stick with it! I've now been working with the trainers at The Perfect Workout for about 2.5 months (2x/week) and feel amazing! I've worked with Albert and Gabe primarily but have also worked with Cadet, and they are all super encouraging, kind & knowledgable! They really are the best. I also love the fact that the workouts only take 20-30 minutes and the trainers are there for you every step of the way. That being said, the exercises can be pretty brutal (you're going until muscle failure) so be prepared to feel that good kind of soreness the following day. The other great thing about the studio is that you're typically only working with (at most) one other trainer & client in the facility, and there's no music, so you can really focus on your workout without any distractions. As far as parking goes, they do have a few spots right by the studio that are reserved specifically for clients, so don't hesitate to ask them where they are. I live close by so I know where I can find street parking easily and I usually walk a few blocks to get there. With the help of The Perfect Workout, I now have much more energy, and my family and friends have noticed that I'm leaner, and I'm feeling stronger than ever. I've actually lost about 6-7 lbs, which I feel is significant for my 5'0" frame! So if you're looking for a safe, effective & efficient workout with fantastic trainers...definitely give these guys a try! :) read more

I'm 53, work 75 hours a week and not only I don't have time to go to a gym, but I also hate going to a gym. I don't like crowded, noisy places to being with. A Facebook friend once posted: "if you hate going to the gym or don't have time to go, this might be perfect for you" and he posted a link. I checked it out and I signed up. The West LA studio is the closest to my work. I go twice a week. I requested Albert as my trainer. He's been nothing but wonderful. He understood my weaknesses and goals and started helping me achieve them. It's really hard to discipline yourself. I wish he could be there with me 24/7 when I want to have that dessert or extra glass of wine. He's not pushy, yet very convincing and encouraging. Because of him, I stopped putting 4 bags of sugar in my morning coffee. I started drinking much less alcohol than before. I still have problems giving it up entirely, but I'm much better than before. I first noticed that my pants started falling off and I had to carve an extra hole in my belt. I bought a scale (never cared to have one) and started weighing myself every day. In 4 months, I lost 16 pounds. People started noticing that I was slimming down. I did start to have more energy and was definitely less tired than before. 99% of the time, when I train with Albert, no one else is in the gym, so definitely no crowd there. :-) There is no loud background music either. I love how quiet and peaceful it is. I love how they keep track of everything you do on a tablet. I have definitely been getting better at all the exercises. And of course, the weight loss proves it all. Now, I have to buy new pants. :-) All in all, I love Perfect Workout, but most of all I love Albert. I have been a yoga junkie for years, but my frequent practice caught up to me last year when I experienced a couple of injuries that temporarily halted my practice. After speaking with my doctor and physical therapist, I decided I needed to find a new workout that would be SAFE for my injuries while they heal, help support my joints, and keep me strong, healthy, and flooded with all those endorphins I'd been missing since I had to quit yoga. I tried a few different programs, including an at-home high intensity workout, cardio machines, and Pilates, but nothing really fit the bill for me until I found The Perfect Workout. I work out twice a week with Raymond and honestly, it's been life-changing. I was in pretty good shape when I started and was skeptical that a 20 minute workout twice a week would really keep my body in the same shape it was when I was practicing yoga 4-5 hours a week. The Perfect Workout proved me wrong--I am now in the best shape I've ever been in. I'm so much stronger--it is really a joy to be able to pick up and carry heavy things in my daily life. I've worked with several other trainers at TPW and had similar experiences. The gym itself is private, quiet, and no-nonsense, just like the workout. Parking is easy; there are several dedicated spaces for TPW clients and it's nice to always be able to find a spot even in busy Sawtelle. My experience has been so great my husband recently started training with Ray too. And there's no price I can put on accomplishing all my strength and fitness goals in only 40 minutes a week instead of hours and hours at the gym. Do I love to exercise? HECK NO! Been a proud member of the couch potato society for all my life! But I reached the age where I can no longer eat what I want and still remain in relatively 'decent' health/physique. To cut this comment short, I've been going to the WLA Perfect Workout for almost two years/once a week. Have I transformed to an exercise loving person? Nope. But I definitely got stronger and is able to run a 10K without passing out which was what I originally told my trainers. Being stronger and healthier were my original goals and they help me achieved it! What I love the most about The Perfect Workout is obviously the trainers. They never EVER yell at the customers which is something I truly appreciate. If they even yelled at me once, I would have walked and never looked back simply because I have my own image that screams back at me and make me feel bad already. No need for others to do the job. The trainers (Ray, my upmost fav) are always soooo supportive that I actually feel guilty if I don't go to my sessions. The workouts are short (around 20-25) min but they are HARD/PAINFUL. The trainers will constantly be pushing you to the limit so it never gets easier (a question I ask every week, why isn't this getting any easier???). But the trainers are always there to make sure that I don't get hurt during working out. Hence I have never been injured, just super sore muscles every week for 2 days post workout. Bottomline, if you prefer supportive (non-yelling) trainers that will constantly push you to be stronger and healthier, try Perfect Workout. read more

As a working mom with 2 young kids I have a hard time fitting exercise into my schedule. I heard about The Perfect Workout from a friend who was referred by her MD so I used his name as a referral and got a free workout! It was amazing. It really is only 20 minutes and i got more burn out of each muscle group than I ever got at pilates. I just went to my 2nd workout 3 days later and I was still sore (in a good way). Each workout is maximum intensity because they push you to muscle failure. Then they switch machines and start fresh on a different muscle group. By the end you are noodle. I am very pleased with my experience at The Perfect Workout, West LA Studio. I had not exercised for a while and was feeling flabby, sluggish and overweight. After a few months I felt significantly better. I noticed the biggest difference while skiing. Legs didn't tire and I didn't have to stop. 2 20 minute workouts per week seem to do the trick. While my principal trainer is Marcello who is the best, I have also worked with Raymond and Albert who are also terrific. They all push you to your limit in a positive and gentle manner rather than using a screaming drill sergeant approach. I could not maximize the impact of each exercise without the trainer. After my first free trial day with Raymond I was hooked. I've always enjoyed working out but as I get older I don't have quite the same commitment to the time spent doing it. The fact that you can get a good hard workout in 20 minutes twice a week is amazing. No excuses with this kind of time commitment.
