We had to put one of our dogs down. The staff was so friendly to us from the beginning. We were new clients as we just moved to the area. They called our old very to get records. So we didn't have to. We came in and they had a nice room for him with a couch, bed, chocolate kisses, so many treats and tissues. They walked us through the entire process and took good care of our baby so he wasn't scared. They let us stay with him as long as we wanted and the techs made us feel better that our baby was never alone even when we left. They mailed us a beautiful card and his paw prints. In July of 2017, we were on the verge of putting our 6yr old Jack Russell Terrier/daschund down. She was in extreme pain; X-rays, bloodwork and medication from our normal vet showed nothing. I took my Jackson for his yearly exam and his vaccinations today and I LOVED the experience. From check-in and through out the visit it was exceptional. The technician is Khaila and she was professional and knowledgeable and answered my questions while she interacted with Jackson. She took him back and clipped his toenails for me and Jackson was a good boy for her of course because he liked her. Then Dr. McManus came in and gave him his shot and booster and answered more of my questions. Both of these ladies are a pleasure to meet and they love animals which is important to me. I started out with the O'Fallon Pet Dr. Facility for Mt Shar-Pei Millie. It is true what they say about Shar-Pei issues. We got her at 9 weeks old and wouldn't trade her for anything. The staff from the receptionist area to the techs are all wonderful and friendly. They take time to answer all your questions. The Dr's that have taken care of Millie have all been overboard excellent. From the pre surgery consultation to the day of the surgery I had no worries, very professional. Millie needed her eye lids tacked and I was nervous but Dr. McManus did a phenomenal job with that and her spaying. Unfortunately Millie did scratch open her stitches and not what you want to see on a Saturday morning just getting off of work. I was able to get her in right away and the Dr. took care of re stitching her lid. The surgery only took an hour. Now Millies eyes are healing and she can see without being in discomfort. All and all I couldn't be happier with the service of The Pet Dr. I highly recommend them if you want to be put at ease with their services. read more

I am cross-posting this review with FB I must say I am completely discouraged when I placed a call yesterday to your facility to try to get a copy of my pups Rabies shot records, only to find out, you have absolutely no record of ever giving my pup his shot. Yet I have his tags and Petco holds the records for the shot... I unfortunately will not recommend anyone to your facility. I will say this much, the staff was great with my Pup and extremely friendly, but bad record keeping is not the way to go. read more

Dr Marcy has been caring for my critters since she opened her doors for business. I have never received anything but honest options to provide the best health care that I can personally afford for my pets. I am forever grateful to be "heard" by Dr Marcy when ever I'm worried about one of my fur-kids, it doesn't matter how silly my worries may sound either, she's still listening:). Having been a client this long, I can say that I am continuously impressed by Dr Marcy's never ending desire to stay with the current times and push ever forward by continuing education that enables our pets to receive the latest treatments available to them. Giving 1 star rating is too generous. The owner, Dr Marcy Hammerle, has a reputation for being rude to customers and I just experienced it. Her front desk staff are not professional as well. Her morals and ethics as a vet are not there - when I asked for a referral for a dog chiropractor because my dog is in pain and needs an adjustment she refused to give it to me. I want a vet who truly loves animals and has their best interest at heart. Dr Hammerle lets her personal feelings get in the way. This is not a vet you want to treat your animal. read more

Very professional and caring staff. My male cat typically needs to be sedated for vaccines because he isn't the nicest cat once he gets to the vet. They were able to get both of my cats in and out without sedation in under 20 minutes for a wellness exam and vaccines. Very impressed! read more

Dr. Jon Nauss has taken care of my cats for the last several years at his previous employment. He has always shown such care and compassion for the animals he sees and I can't imagine taking my cats to anyone else! Everyone here is wonderful! From the time I called to the time I left my appointment, I was kept informed every step of the way. I took my 18 year old kitty, who had been losing a lot of weight and was very weak, in. I thought I was losing my long time friend very soon. The compassion I was shown, and the expert care were so appreciated. They treated my fur baby with love, and took great care of her. Her bloodwork results were explained in detail. I was shown how to give her her medication. By the time we got home she was feeling much better, and was eating and drinking! They saved my fur baby's life! We have been using the same vet for 6 years. We've had to change due to my dogs anxiety. I called just before the appointment to review the medicine and procedure that was going to happen and Annie was TERRIBLY RUDE cutting me off twice and treating me like I was interrupting her. My puppy injured herself with what turned out to be a herniated disc. My vet would not see us for a week and a half. My pup was in pain. My Daughter called her vet (The Pet Doctor) and they said to bring her in as soon as possible. I did. X-rays showed the compression. They treated her, sent me home with meds and required an update in two days or sooner if needed. This office was wonderful and I cannot thank them enough. My cat Elda had stopped eating and was acting strange for a few days so I took her to a Vet's office in Webster Groves. After a 4 hour visit and a physical examination, x rays, an ultrasound, and blood diagnostics they sent me home saying that it was behavioral. A couple of days later I woke up and she was pretty much lethargic, cloudy eyes, still hiding, hadn't eaten in days. I took her to The Pet Doctor and gave them my number as a contact number. They took her as a drop off since we had no appointment. Minutes later, I received a call from Dr. Callaway saying that she took a quick look at Elda and that she immediatley spotted the issue. She had a Christmas ornament hook lodged in the back of her throat. Dr. Callaway asked me Elda's symptoms and assured me that this was the reason for her strange behavior and not eating. I gave them the go-ahead to sedate her and remove the hook. Since I was not able to be there during all of this, the doctor offered to send me photos of the object in Elda's throat (which she sent immediately). Throughout the hour, I was given updates on what was going on with Elda which gave me a huge peace of mind. We picked her up from the vet later that day. They even sent the object that was in her throat home in a bag so I could see it. It has been 5 days now and my cat is completely back to normal. I asked to have Elda's records sent over to the previous Webster Vet's office and the office staff kindly did so within minutes of my request. All of this proves excellent customer service, but what really compelled me to write this review is the fact that Dr. Callaway and the office staff at The Pet Doctor have personally called and emailed me a couple of times to check on Elda and how she's doing. They seem to genuinely care. To know that these doctors and Veterinary staff see many people's pets in a day and still take the time out to give undivided attention to my cat means so much to me. I will be returning for everything Vet related and it makes me happy knowing that someone will care for my cat as much as I do. Couldn't recommend them more! read more

The Pet Doctor's staff is knowledgeable and Dr. Marcy is one of the most qualified and credentialed veterinarians in the state of Missouri. They care more about giving the highest standard of care than they do about seeing as many patients as possible in a work day. So many vets only allow 15 minutes per client and never really get to know their clients or their pets. The Pet Doctor is different! They never man-handle pets or traumatize them just to "get it done". They take their time and use gentle, low-stress handling to make sure that your pet has the best possible experience. You know we went to The Pet Doctor from 2009 thru 2014 with our little Yorkie Rudy when they were in the Winghaven Plaza. They were always awesome and when it came to payments and care, they did let us do a payment plan. We moved out of area and are now back. Its November 25, 2019 and we need to get our Rudy to the vet, we called The Pet Doctor and they can see Rudy but what is going on with him, if it requires surgery or other major treatment, they are unwilling to do a payment plan now as they did back in 2009 and then again in 2014, apparently new owners or just don't trust people now. Which I see poor customer service and not wanting to keep customers or reestablish former customers. This is not how we would have been treated in 2009 thru 2014. Our little Rudy is sick and needs to be seen, and with this circumstance, we are now forced to go somewhere else that does not know our Rudy or his history. Its a shame that a past customer is now back and wants to come back and because our Rudy's illness may be major and need surgery or major treatment, they will not do a payment plan now for old customers as they did for us in the past. Vet bills can be more expensive that human care bills. That says so little for keeping past customers. We were good customers in 2009-2014 paid our monthly payments. It's a sad day that our world has come to this. There was a time when it only took a handshake to make an agreement of payment with no questions. No I am not old, but I remember my grandparents doing business on a handshake. I also have Amish customers who still do business on a handshake. Maybe we all should take a lesson from them. I remember when during the Holiday Season it was "peace on earth and goodwill towards men" now its all about money hungry, commercialized who cares anymore about the human person; as long as the almighty dollar is made. Oh by the way, we found another awesome, amazing vet to take our Rudy to, and they could not believe it when we told them what happened with The Pet Doctor. I brought in my undocumented two year old "puppy" I got off craigslist. I mistakenly arrived an hour early and they were able to get me in without too long of a wait. Staff was friendly and they even offered water for me and my pet. Dr. Marcy went above and beyond my expectations with her willingness to work with me and my tight budget. I'm soo glad that I did not take my new furry friend to one of the impersonal big box stores-I may have saved a few dollars but Dr. Marcy was ultimately the better value. This business is strictly out to make a buck. They have no true compassion for anything but the All Mighty Dollar. Upon asking for a simple dosing down of flea control for my 4 small dogs, they refused. They could have chosen to give me one month supply for a total of a 65 lb dog with a measuring syringe, but because of their obvious greed, the difference in price in giving me separate doses was $50 . read more

Dr. Marcy and Dr. Kelly are compassionate and skilled and thorough individuals who obviously chose the right profession. This is shown in the way they interact with and listen to patients, ask relevant questions, formulate diagnoses, administer treatments and treat/hire their staff. Everyone is so welcoming, that walking in is like coming into a gathering at a friend's house. If the front office is empty, someone immediately pops in. If the ladies happen to be behind the desk talking, they immediately stop, look up at us with large smiles and welcome us. This happens 100% of the time! Not only does the entire staff treat us like family, but they're on time for appointments, they remember my pet's name, they somehow always know why we're there (i.e. meds, vaccinations, check up, etc.), they briefly review our pet's history, and they always come out from BEHIND THE DESK to welcome us to our appointment, and they do the same thing while wishing us well when we're leaving. And it's not just us they do this to.....I've seen it do this to the other in the office, many times. They behave as if they're genuinely sad to see my pet leave! Wow! I've seen them minister a rescue animal brought in for examination; they have a business to run and a mortgage to pay, yet they extend themselves to the weak and sick who can't care for themselves. That is true compassion and dedication. I believe they're the only accredited hospital in St. Charles County....this gives me peace of mind in their training and schooling. I know others who have been given gifts of their kindness and advice with hospice care, and with home care assistance for geriatric animals. And when the times comes to let go of a family member, their comfort, understanding and patience is stabilizing. It's one thing to take your pet to a place where you trust the knowledge of the veterinarian, but it's a whole other ballpark to take him or her to a place where you trust the knowledge of the veterinarian A-N-D you have the amazing feeling of warmth and caring.....this staff actually loves to go to work! We are currently raising a Service Dog who goes to the Pet Doctor. Last year, while we were waiting to receive our puppy, we approached a few veterinarians to inquire about the costs we would incur for his care so we could budget: vaccinations, office visits, spay/neuter, and meds. Any puppy is pricey to raise and care for, ut these are companions most will have for 10-15 years; we won't have that luxury with this guy. We will have him for only 18 months. Then we give him up to Advanced Training and then placement with his disabled individual. DR. MARCY AND DR. KELLY OFFERED US COMPLIMENTARY VET CARE DURING OUR ENTIRE TIME WITH POET. This was very unexpected! No other veterinarian in O'Fallon or Wentzville or Lake St. Louis were interested at all in what we were doing. We didn't expect vets to bend over backwards and a big parade, simply more information about total costs. And we certainly didn't expect such a generous offer. It's been a year, and we have another few months with Poet, and are most grateful for the care our vets have given him. They have truly shared in providing independence to a Wounded Warrior, an autistic child, an individual in a wheelchair....someone we'll never meet but someone who decidedly needs and deserves it. These are the kind of vets you can imagine who go home and bring your pet "home" with them----they think about strange symptoms, they try to piece together a logical diagnosis, they probably call colleagues for second opinions. They live and breathe animals. Other hospitals and vets in the area are big into promoting themselves. And that's okay, too. But for my money, those who are good at marketing themselves, aren't paying attention to business at home. Those truly good at their craft are usually quite humble and into their work rather than touting their own horn. So that's where a satisfied client comes in. I can speak for Dr. Marcy and Dr. Kelly. The best way to define the doctors and the staff at the Pet Doctor is to say they practice with their expertise, but they LEAD WITH THEIR HEARTS.
