Upon arrival, we were required to pay a $700 deposit before our cat was even evaluated. After payment, he was taken to the back, but instead of immediate treatment, we were instructed to call an animal poison control hotline ourselves which also required an additional fee. We were not informed that the clinic would also charge an even higher fee to consult with poison control. We spent about an hour on hold with poison control while our cat waited in distress. After completing lot of paperwork, He was treated with antibiotics and anti nausea medication, we were sent home with just antibiotics, despite the fact that he was still experiencing severe labored breathing. The breathing issues continued throughout the night. The next day, Dr. Goodyear called and said she regretted not administerina a steroid to help his night. The next day, Dr. Goodyear called and said she regretted not administering a steroid to help his breathing. We returned immediately to pick it up. Tragically it was too late, after giving the first dose at home, our cat vomited, began convulsing, and passed away. We later took him to another veterinary clinic for a necropsy and were told that the prolonged respiratory distress likely led to cardiac arrest. We are very heartbroken. We brought our cat in for urgent care and trusted that he would receive immediate, appropriate treatment. Instead, we feel critical time was lost, and key decisions were delayed. And unfortunately our beloved cats life was cut short.

Not an ounce of compassion, only want money, money, money. I had no idea my regular veterinarian was no longer there. Every time I'd call for an appointment, they would say "we can get you in on this day/time, but it won't be with your regular vet", as if to imply my regular vet is not available on that day only. Come to find out, my vet hasn't been there in months, and the new vet apparently doesn't know how to read previous medical records. Knew absolutely nothing about my pets history, and didn't bother to ask. When checking out I realized they added prescriptions to my bill which I had declined with the veterinarian (which I tried to explain was due to a previous allergic reaction, but they would not listen), so when I tried to decline the prescription again when paying my bill, they basically told me I was going to kill my pet if I didn't give them this rx. Ummm... you mean you're going to kill my pet because you didn't look at their history and have no idea you are prescribing something that almost killed my pet in the past. Never again. Not telling me that my regular veterinarian is no longer at the clinic is one thing. But to not bother with my pets important history, that is just pure negligence.

We brought our…read moresenior cat into Thomas Vet after he started having some weight loss, significant hair loss and behavior changes (lost weight to be noticeable and started sleeping in weird spots - kitchen table, entryway table) and would just stop and stare off into the distance. We were new patients as we hadn't established care here locally and took to Facebook to ask for recommendations. We saw a handful of pet parents recommend Dr. Thomas specifically. I called the clinic and was advised that dr. Thomas was not taking on new patients but his associate was. I asked before scheduling if they were well versed in treating cats and I was assured that they were. When we brought Lukas in, we were greeted by the friendly staff, which is why I gave one star by default. The vet tech was kind. The Vetinarian came in and gave him a quick look over and suggested we run bloodwork to see if anything was out of the ordinary for his weight loss but also mentioned that we should have his teeth cleaned to the tune of $840-$940 which may alleviate him not wanting to eat. We left with no answers and no advice to follow up if he worsened or declined. We only were told his blood work was only valid for 30 DAYS and if we did move forward with dental work after 30 days, we'd have to redraw labs ($330). Well, it wouldn't have mattered because within 30 days, my cat declined significantly and we asked our local neighbors who they trusted and were directed to West Davis. The doctor there was more thorough and we were given steroids and antibiotics due to the fever my cat had and hair loss to be treated as a skin and GI infection based on the re-drawn blood results. After he still wasn't improving, we ran blood a week later and since he's WBC was high but his RBC was low, it was assumed that it was a cancer. Our vet advised us to not spend thousands on unnecessary diagnostic testing but to make him comfortable. 27 days after visiting Thomas Vet clinic, my husband and I had to put down our boy due to how fast he declined. If Thomas Vet had offered more solutions, we may have been able to make him more comfortable before choosing a different vet because I had NO confidence in Thomas Vet. This office was more focused on an unnecessary dental procedure that my cat most likely wouldn't not have come out of anesthesia than actually diagnosing what was wrong. We were told he was fine and he wasn't. I can't speak for Dr. Thomas.. he may be wonderful and maybe we would've had a different experience but I would never recommend this clinic after the pushing for dental work instead of following up on what was actually wrong. This place is AMAZING!…read more Got us checked in, trusted, and seeing a doctor in well under an hour. The people seem to actually care about my dog and the service is exceptional. I spent 2k on everything that included a ton of items (see photos). Glad to do it and would have paid more just because the other place (see below) was so bad. We went to another vet hospital earlier today and had to walk out after waiting 2.5 hours and not seeing a doctor.

Our cat Sunny wasn't feeling or acting like her usual self (not even running when it was wet food…read moretime), so I Googled inexpensive emergency vet clinics and UrgentVet was one of the first options. I read the description, and the hours and location were convenient since most vet offices (including our regular vet) close anywhere around 5:30-6:30 PM, and it had just turned 6:30 when we decided it was time to take Sunny in for a visit. I made an appointment online, and there were many available time slots open. When I pulled into the parking lot (which had plenty of parking in the small strip center), I noticed the business was well lit, welcoming, and clean. There was a coffee and cellphone charging station in the waiting area as well. There was convenient self check-in on tablets, and no sooner had I hit the check-in button than a vet tech was ready to welcome us into one of the clean exam rooms. I was even offered a beverage, which is something I've never been asked before. The vet tech was extremely friendly, patient, and thorough, just like our regular veterinary office. Sunny was handled with such care, and any questions I had were readily answered. The care suggestions and pricing were given after my consent, and they offered multiple options without being pushy or judgmental whatsoever. The prices were really reasonable, almost the same as a regular vet visit and not the outrageous emergency vet clinic prices I expected. I also gave permission for records to be sent to Sunny's regular vet office, and they did receive them overnight. Sunny was handled with such care throughout everything, and she was made to feel very comfortable. Both the vet tech and the vet eased my mind so much. Every question I had was explained thoroughly, including the blood test results that were printed out for me. My husband wasn't present, so when I had him on speakerphone, they were just as kind and thorough with him as well. We were given great guidance, very detailed overview notes, and at-home treatment advice. Hopefully Sunny or our other two cats don't get sick again, but if they do and their regular vet isn't available, we'll most definitely come back to UrgentVet. The following day, the vet from UrgentVet even called to check in on Sunny's progress. Since we had to work the following day, we decided to take Sunny to her regular vet for observation, and their office was impressed that UrgentVet gave the exact same treatment they would have. Having all of Sunny's records sent overnight by UrgentVet was also incredibly helpful. Sunny is back to normal now, and we're so very thankful to UrgentVet for all of their care.
