We went to the Pie Factory to eat! We ended up walking out after sitting at the table for about 15 minutes with no kind of acknowledgement from anyone that we were there ! If I had gotten a "be with you in a few minutes " or something I would have waited, but not even one look from the waitress. We were in town visiting my folks. The only time they have pizza is when we visit. Since this was the first time we have seen them since the pandemic, we decided to get a great pizza. ( normally take and bake works for us). After reading reviews, we decided on the pie factory. Since the 'old faithful' started it all, we thought that may be their best offering, at least a solid one. We called our order in and took off to pick it up. While my husband went in to pick up, I waited in car. I waited and waited. Long story short. The pizza was tepid, ( found out that while he waited, he discovered the pizza sitting on the bar. Huh??) crust hard ( like when you microwave something too long and it cools). Not impressive and I was wondering how this pizza 'started it all'?? We stopped in for pizza the weekend of the Handy festival and we were not disappointed. Our party of four ordered a large "Kitchen Sink" (a pizza with darn near everything on it), along with some tomato basil dip. Both were excellent. Service was friendly. The bar table we were seated at was oddly constructed (on some sort of a barrel), awkwardly shaped, and not very well constructed - it definitely felt like it was about to come apart. Great food, amazing beer list, all right service. I've been here a couple times now. The first time I tried the Da Bomb calzone. It was fantastic. This most recent time I had the Yellerbelly Pizza, and it was pretty good, too. Both had meatball slices on them, and I'm not usually a big meatball person; however, these things are like heaven. My husband has tried multiple beers here. He highly recommends the Golden Monkey. I finally found a wine I really appreciated here also, the Saracco Moscato. Everyone in the place has been really nice, but even when they are not busy, the servers tend to be a bit slow getting back to you. Not sure if they just run a small wait staff or what's going on there. If you're in a hurry, maybe get take out. All in all I would recommend trying this place out to anyone. read more

Pie Factory is one of the best pizza places in the Shoals area. The pizza is fresh and delicious. The only reason I rated four stars was because they have a tendency to burn the bottoms of their pizza. Which I understand why. They use a pizza oven and if you order a pizza with a lot of toppings it can be difficult to not burn the crust. I always get the Muscle Shoals Sound. The 256 is also a solid choice. The service is solid. They are always polite and helpful. If I am spending time with friends in Florence I usually take them to this spot. They also do well with bigger parties! read more

Went here Saturday for lunch. We got 2 Caesar salads and the first pizza on the menu. I can't remember what it was called but it had pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onion and mushrooms. It was good but they really skimped on the toppings. Some pieces didn't even have all of the toppings on them. The server was great! He was very polite and attentive. I would go back but hopefully next time they won't be so tight with the toppings. read more

Rude and unorganized. The hostess told us we had to wait and then immediately sat the table that walked in behind us. We were a 2 and the party she sat was a 6. I get using your tables to max capacity but she definitely went about the wrong way to do so. Said it was against your policy to sit 2 people at a 6 top. Neat. read more

It's good quality, handmade, oven-fired pizza, but I'm not a huge fan of cracker-thin crust and minimalist "artisinal" toppings. It gets really busy, crowded, and loud at peak times, and if you're not a drinker, there's not a whole lot else appealing. read more

Fantastic little pizza place. Going in to get some supper this restaurant came highly recommended. Sattling up at the bar I was plesently suprised to see a decent selection of beer on tap and quite a good bottle menu. The pizzas looked great however they are all 16" ones and I definitely could not finish one by myself. Prepare to bring a friend if you want to tackle one of these. They did smell amazing though. I decided to have the philly steak calzone. It was amazing. The crust was like a thin pizza crust with just the right amount of crunch to it. Nice restaurant with a bar and outdoor seating. Really impressed with the quality of pizza served here. They serve a thin crust pizza. Personally, I'm not a big fan of thin crust, but luckily this place knows how to do thing crust. The crust is soft, yet crunchy. I went with the "OLD FAITHFUL," which consisted of all no-nonsense ingredients like sausage and pepperoni. The sauce they use on their pizzas is nice and flavorful. Ingredients all have great flavor and there are just enough ingredients to get a little of each in every bite. Really happy with my choice to dine here and will likely revisit this establishment again during my time in Florence, AL. read more

If you want a good pizza in a fun environment come to The Pie Factory. Located in downtown Florence this place is great for lunch and dinner. I have been here twice and have gotten the Granny's Garden Fresh pizza both times. This specific pizza is piled high with a variety of veggies including red, yellow, and green peppers, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. I don't think they could fit many more veggies on this pizza so it is a great value. Both times this pizza has come out it has been so fresh and extremely hot. Arrived in a week night and was able to park near the restaurant. Free parking downtown ans a heavy rain storm had just passed. Yelp reviews helped me to select the restaurant and they offer outdoor seating. The sign at the entrance said to wait to be seated ND I did wait and wait and wait. Out of the back cane the host and I was ask the usual questions and I ask for a booth and was seated. My server arrived ans took my beverage order and returned with it ans I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. Wow what a great pie. Trying to get a refill on tea is a hassle. I ask toe people and my glass was still empty. Too much to eat at one sitting. As for a to go box and it was delivered. My server didn't ask or offer to box up the pie. The wait time at the entrance, drink refills and the boxing of the pie caused me to ding one star. When my travel plans has me back in town I will make a second visit. read more

When we tried to cancel it given that we were already finished we were told by the waitress that she wouldn't take it off the bill. We were given some kind of lame excuse about orders being prioritized. I guess serving an appetizer before the main course is not a priority. It would be easy to just say "great pizza" but why be generic? This place has a few combinations that really jump outside the typical pizza menu items. There is even a pizza that has peaches on it. I tried the bbq pizza which included smoked Gouda cheese. And let me tell you...it was a Gouda choice. Many pizza places use yesterday's grilled chicken (probably just stored in a bin). This tasted like they fire grilled chicken and THEN put it on the pizza. Every ingredient was perfect. You can tell that everydetail matters at Pie Factory. They also have an insanely huge craft beer selection...from all over this side of the US. The ONLY complaint was the "creamy tomato basil dip" app. It was mostly chopped onions and tomatoes that had been cooked down. I thought it would have been more like the consistency of Alfredo or similar...a thick, creamy sauce. It's not a bad appetizer. It just didn't seem to be as described. There was nothing creamy about it at all. Go to this place. Eat your heart out. Drink all the beers. It will not disappoint. read more
