    Half-empty cone...
    Katie H.

Pretty poor experience here, unfortunately. There was a long line and it's cash only, but we were prepared for that. What we were not prepared for was the rude staff, small portions, and high prices. $11 for two small scoops was a bit much - especially since the cone was basically half empty! I would definitely suggest getting dessert somewhere else in town.

It seems that the cleanliness and service is not what I remember and still an adventure for little ones to take an evening walk and wait in line for ice cream.

So here's the inside scoop: The Pine Cone is a small, local ice cream shop located in Glen Arbor. They have a lot of wonderful and classic Michigan favorites, like Moose Tracks and Mackinac Island Fudge. The variety of flavors to choose from allows each customer to be satisfied. If you have read the other reviews, you might find a common theme about the customer service and their strict policy of closing right at 10 pm. This is true! My family and I have been coming here for over 15 years each year, and we have encountered this problem several times. My advice: get there earlier in the evening so that you can avoid any conflict. When they say that they close at 10pm, they really mean it!

Small scoops. Not worth it one bit. If you are going to charge $6.50 for a single cone you can't have WEAK SCOOPS

Portions are tiny and horribly overpriced. Staffed by a couple teens. Service was extremely slow after ordering.

Hearing profanity from the literal kids (grade schoolers) behind the counter while I was there with my little kids earned this review.

There was a 15-minute wait, but after 5 minutes, I was quickly seated. I enjoyed sitting outside under the shade while looking at the menu. Our server was very friendly, if not a bit stretched thin. She was running all over the place and was very apologetic, so it didn't bother me too much. She at least tried her best and came over several times to check in. Our orders were taken and the food took a bit, but again, it was very busy. The food was good. Prices were a bit much, but this is Glen Arbor. I left satisfied and would come back again if I were in the area.

Great ambiance with live music, out side seating, with a great breeze. But the food just doesn't bring it! I ordered a simple burger Med Rare. Server said it may come out med. I said ok as long as it is not dry! Well it came out very dry. When I told Zack he apologized and said he would take it off the bill - We had 8 people drinking, so we had a big bill - but it was not taken off. I know only mention the burger but, the chips and guacamole the chips were old. Noone at table was excited about food. So, if you have patience and can live with mediocre food this is the place.

But, after staying in the area for a week, we learned everything is pricy up here lol. After passing it up, the owner of the tea shop recommended GHG, so we took our hanger here, and I'm glad we did. It was fun and unexpected when choosing a salad dressing they bring you the entire bottle, even if you're the only person at your table using that kind of dressing. Pros: Chill vibes Good wine list Excellent quality of food. The whitefish was better prepared than what I had in Leland! Cons: Just the price. Was a high quality meal, and the price reflected that. All in all, Good Harbor Grill has amazing fresh, in season food that is worth it!
