Chicken salad sandwich was okay. I did not think it was special. The smoky serrano pepper burger was good. I liked the cherry crumb slice. It was crunchy with the right amount of sweetness (not too sweet that it becomes overpowering). Our server Grace was nice. The family is up here on vacation & we stopped in to give this place a shot. The place is definitely cool. We sat outside in the beautiful MI summer weather & we're happy to do so. I had the cherry burger with fries. They were very good. Others in our party had the cherry chicken salad. All opinions were that the chicken salad was good, but the cherry flavor wasn't strong enough. The pretzel & salsa apps were excellent. The ice cream is great. Overall, the food was great. The only bad thing I have to say about the place is that the service was dawdling at best. It took a while to get our food. They forgot to bring one of the apps. We had to call someone over who wasn't our waitress to refill our water pitcher. And we were only checked on once after the food was brought. It's a relaxed but calmly energized ambiance where one feels comfortable to have a chat but also feels fun and exciting at the same time. We stopped in for a late lunch after visiting the Dunes. We were able to get a table outside right away. The service was fast and friendly - all young adults. The grounds are very cute with various places to eat. It is very much a Michigan-y restaurant with every way to use cherries carried out. We started with the cherry salsa and chips. The salsa was so good we bought a bottle in the store (the chips were mediocre at best). We then ordered the Republic House Salad with Cherry Balsamic dressing. It was very good. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich that was just okay. The fries come in a paper bag and are seasoned well - they were great. This place is worth the stop if you are in the area. It is touristy, but in the best way. The food is solid, and the shop and wine shop on the grounds were fun. We bought many items at Cherry Republic to take home. This is a really popular spot just off the M22. We had a bit of wait when we checked in for lunch, so we walked through their shop while we waited. Got a table on the patio which was nice since it was a gorgeous day. Food was good - we had burgers and fries. Mothers Day, they're completely understaffed, not ready for the beautiful day, orders are 45+, even something as simple as soup. They're out of chicken completely. Every table was the same with some folks commenting and others just staring at the kitchen. The food was ok. We got pretzel and beer cheese, it was salty but decent. My husband had a burger, which he said was good. I had the cherry chicken salad, which was not the best I've had. It looked like a lot of folks got chips and salsa, so perhaps worth trying. We got beers, 50% on if they were awesome or if they tasted like spoiled cherries, so know what you're ordering. The fries were soggy and lacked flavor IMO. They come in a paper bag (with an upcharge) so I think I was expecting more. Honestly it was the smallest sandwich I had seen marketed as an adult meal. The prices were so steep for mediocre food and small portions. What a wonderful experience on our first evening on a girls trip to Glen Arbor. We just got into town and were hungry and ready for a drink too. We sat down and Rebecca took amazing care of us. To start: She heard we were going to have one of us go grab creamer for our coffee the next day, after we ordered. And she brought us half and half cups to save us a trip. At this point we ordered. Service was quick. The drinks and the food hit the spot. Is it true 5 star food? No. I'd say 4 star. But, seriously, having this kindness from Rebecca made it 5 star worthy. We appreciated it and tipped well. And she expressed gratitude for that. As we sat and finished our last bites and sips, she came back over to our table. And she handed us a cherry pie . An entire pie! She said it was a gift to us. What?! Seriously? Yes! She explained that she's able to do that occasionally and that she works for corporate, but that this summer she helped manage the staff at the restaurant. And then said she'd be going back to corporate next week. Anyway, wow! She made our day and night. And we went back a second time this trip as a result. More restaurants need Rebeccas. Such a fun spot in Glen Arbor! If you love cherries, this is it. While I opted for the lettuce wraps, you cannot go wrong with their famous cherry chicken salad sandwich. Service was great despite being busy during the lunch hour, and their fun selection of all things cherry gifts next door was great. But Cherry Republic knows how to fix and blend cherries to be a delight in their food. I'm going to have to try more of their items next visit. I absolutely love this place!!! The burger was absolutely fantastic. It came with a cherry coleslaw that was delicious! We also ordered a basket of fries and they were so good! This yummy seasoning on them that makes them speical! They have done a little redesign in the last couple of years and I love the new layout. Although I do miss the self-service drink station, the food is still awesome. It is on the pricier side but it is Glen Arbor. after all. The staff is always friendly and the food is timely. It was $5 for six 1 oz pours. They wrote on the little cup and you get a little pie tin to try. We had 14 samples and liked them all. The little lady that is who checked us out was also nice and had a passion for the place. You get 10% off if you get 4 bottles or more. They also have cherry soda for the littles. The restaurant was interesting. You scan and order everything yourself from your phone and they bring it. I liked the chicken salad wrap. The fries were well worth the upcharge. My husband was able to get a chicken sandwich by ordering a burger and subbing out the meat. All was delicious.
