We had a big group that needed to eat indoors, and they were able to accommodate us. They have very limited options for allergies. We ordered the cheese curds and some onion rings for apps, and they came out quickly and were very good. The food got mixed reviews from everyone in our party. While the food was average or not great for some, our server was helpful and doing her best to keep up, and we all were fed and got to enjoy dinner together. There was live music out on the deck, and lots of outdoor seating (the weather was just a little cool on this day). Be aware you will get charged a credit card fee if you pay with card, and they do not split bills for groups (that part was well-communicated). Must read before going here. Tonight, I personally overheard the owner turn away a family because the dad asked if the USA World Cup soccer game would be on. His response was, verbatim: "If you owned a business, you would understand we are trying to turn tables." The place was half empty. Instead of simply saying they couldn't put the game on or that they needed the table, he escalated the situation and verbally attacked the dad in front of his kids, even calling him an "a-hole" for asking to watch the USA play in the World Cup at a bar and grill. That tells you everything you need to know about how this place treats customers. Rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. There are plenty of better options in Glen Arbor. We made a timing error in our plans and didn't realize we needed to leave sooner than we planned. Guy that "runs the place" seems to have little man's syndrome and needs some help with his people skills. I will say the food was fine. Zucchini fries were 10 out of 10. Out burger was pretty rare...like borderline should we eat this. Disclaimer...we placed our order but had to ask them to put them in takeout containers because we were shorter on time than expected. "The Guy" got argumentative with my friend I was with over our seating timing and order timing and the need for us to leave. Again, his people skills on wild display. Glad we left...the live music was warming up and we were seated right by a speaker so...I can imagine it would have gotten loud. We waited over an hour just for the appetizer, and half of my family members did not enjoy their food. I liked what I ordered, which was the Black Garlic BBQ Bacon burger and fries, but the crazy long wait and the food not quite being good enough to make up for it, everyone agreed that we wouldn't come here again. Very happy with this place. It's got a great outside atmosphere as well as the indoor dining. Jim got the brisket and I got the pulled pork and both were excellent. Lots of places to sit outside with a nice atmosphere and excellent service. I would highly recommend coming here and we will definitely come back the next time. We are in Glen Arbor. read more

This was after asking four separate servers that passed by our table if they were our server. Apparently the hostess for got to tell our server‍ we were there?! Drinks came out slow and then it took another 25 minutes to get one app and one sandwich. This meal was not worth the $60. After a poor experience at another restaurant, I wasn't sure what to expect. Luckily, my mood improved once I got to Boonedocks. There was a 15-minute wait, but after 5 minutes, I was quickly seated. I enjoyed sitting outside under the shade while looking at the menu. Our server was very friendly, if not a bit stretched thin. She was running all over the place and was very apologetic, so it didn't bother me too much. She at least tried her best and came over several times to check in. I have been coming to this establishment for the past 16 years and have been disappointed over and over again with this restaurant. The hostesses are always very kind, but that's as much positivity as this place has. The owner is extremely bitter and defensive, and has never been able to have a civil conversation without being a jerk. We were out riding bikes in the area when a terrible storm blew in. We high-tailed it over to Boonedocks to wait out the weather and I am so glad we did. We had great service and started with the Zucchini Twigs - they were the best I have had. Crispy, dusted in perm and a delicious ranch to dip them in. My grandma insisted it was good and can't make grandma upset so we ate here haha. I think a lot of the bad reviews are so silly. Yes this place is busy, you will wait for a table. We waited about 25 mins to be seated. We just walked the shops it wasn't a bad wait. The bad reviews on service is funny to me. This place is busy in the summer, but the service wasn't bad. Your waiter or waitress just has a lot of tables. We didn't wait crazy long for anything. Sit and enjoy the live band, your family, or the weather. Relax haha have some patience. The food was good. Was it the best thing I've ever ate? No. But was it so awful I needed to make a one star review? No haha. I tried everyone's dish to have a good idea of food quality. My grandma got the Something Fishy sandwich. It was good, it wasn't greasy or bland. It was what I'd expect for a Michigan fish sandwich. My husband got the Pesto Burger. I really liked it. This could be the greatest place in Traverse City area. But, it just drops the ball so many times. First, service is pretty good - Zack (4 stars). Great ambiance with live music, out side seating, with a great breeze. But the food just doesn't bring it! I ordered a simple burger Med Rare. Server said it may come out med. I said ok as long as it is not dry! Well it came out very dry. When I told Zack he apologized and said he would take it off the bill - We had 8 people drinking, so we had a big bill - but it was not taken off.
