Our group ordered fish tacos, hot dogs, coney dogs, pretzel bites, chicken fingers and fries. Everyone reported their meals to be very good! I had the hot dog and fries and the dog was HUGE. 36 minutes off my life well spent. Ha. Cocktails weren't available to go but we still wanted to sip on some tropical beverages on the boat so they were able to make them virgin. And they were really great! The fish taco was served on a small shell that could have been purchased at Walmart Grocery. The Walleye in the taco may have consisted of an ounce at most and was covered over with cabbage and dressing that made you think it was a vegetarian taco. When you get to the second one the sauce had soaked it so bad you could not even picked it up with out falling apart. The Shrimp Taco was over cooked/ boiled that it was like eating Rubber. The price was $17.50!! If eating on the lake is your thing there are other places on Lake Leelanau that will make you want to come back again. If you want to stop in for gas (7.50) a gallon and have a small soda drink for $3.75 then it a must stop for you. Tourist beware this will not be a dining experience that you will tell all your friends back home. Just remember I told you so. I found it a bit odd that we had to order at the bar, considering only 2 other groups were there. There were like 4 employees just chatting away at the bar as well. At this point I know what I like in craft beers and I usually never have an unpleasant experience trying them, but we liked nothing we ordered on the beer flight! We had put in an order for the BBQ flatbread as an appetizer as well, and the chicken was super dry. I can't blame the sauce for being to spicy since I'm sure it's a popular local brand. That one's on us. We decided to have an actual dinner closer to our cabin.

The bier garten is constantly voted one of the best in the conference and depending on the time of year you visit it may be filled with cozy igloos, roaring bonfires or like today, just a awesome summer vibe. The staff are always friendly, the food gets better every time we visit and the beer is delicious! And now that they distill their own spirits, my wife is even more excited to visit Hop Lot, she even bought a tee shirt on this visit which is a very rare thing for her to do. Thanks Hop Lot!
