I ordered one pizza for delivery on a Sunday evening. After an hour and 15 minutes I called and they said they still hadn't started making my pizza. The girl was very rude and put me on hold four times in a five minute call. I asked what the ETA for the pizza was and she just kept saying, I'm telling you we are very busy, I'm trying to explain to you we are busy. I said ok I understand but I'm asking what the eta is, it's been over an hour I'd like to know when my pizza is coming. Every time I asked a question she put me on hold. When she finally came back I said, if you can't tell me an eta, just cancel the order, it's already been over an hour, I'm hungry, it sounds like it could be another hour (which she said again that I wasn't listening to her tell me it's very busy so she couldn't tell me if it was another hour or more). She told me I had to cancel the order myself. Isn't that I'm trying to do right now? Passed by this pizza joint in the corner of Kits and was drawn to the delicious smell coming out of there. They serve Neopolitan style (thin, crispy crust) pizza which I'm a fan of. They have a few seats indoor and outdoor, and it was full of people grabbing a slice to snack on mid-afternoon. We wanted a whole pizza, not a slice. So we placed our order and was told to come back 30min later. The toppings and seasoning on their pizzas were tasty combos. We got: - Pepperoni Honey Basil - Wow, the whole family enjoyed this one. Just the right sweetness and the pepperoni was lightly crisped. - Pancetta, Pear, Arugula - This pizza got a bit too burnt on certain parts. The flavors were good if you like stronger cheeses and are ok with spicy; the pear helps curb some of the spice and adds a nice contrast to the rest of the ingredients. I live in this neighborhood and there has been a very polite homeless person who frequents the sitting area outside. on Friday he was given $40 by a kind person. he immediately got up and went to this place with the money. I could see from outside that they would not serve him. he held up the money showing he had cash but still no service. someone from behind the counter came out ready to remove him. the homeless man then walked out and tried to give the money back to the gentleman who gave it to him because he couldn't get a pizza. of course the guy wouldn't accept the money back and went in and got the pizza. Yes the homeless man was dirty but the least they could have done was let him order and ask him politely to wait outside. Instead they treated him as non human and that's disgusting. I live on that block and will never again go to this place ever again. Disgusting what they did To this person who clearly is down and they didn't need to treat him like that. Do not eat here. There was a bandaid on my pizza. I called. Took forever to explain to them. We had paid online. All they offered was a credit for the pizza for next time. Like, we aren't going back! Or they said we had to go back there and get cash for the one pizza. We paid by credit card online. We stopped eating it all. We didn't eat all the food. Because that was disgusting. Yum!!! This place is awesome! Wicked veggie selection. They have a proper crust and the flour they use gives the perfect mouth feel. I have tried most of their veggie ones by the slice. The staff are friendly. The inside is welcoming and smells amazing, since the kitchen is open, so the wood fire pizza has oven makes everything smell delicious. My only suggestion would be for them to get some non-beet drinks, like cider. read more

I've been to the original location on The High Street in Coquitlam a couple of times - located near Coquitlam Centre. Really enjoyed the authentic Neapolitan pizza there so I was glad when I saw signage go up advertising a new location here on 4th Ave @ Maple. Vancouver to Coquitlam can be an hours drive, depending on traffic so yes I'm mighty happy for this new location! Pizza is very subjective - there's a reason why Pizza Hut is still going strong decades latter - yikes! The way to approach pizza is simple by following this view - 'pizza is like sex, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good!' Hahaha! Now in regards to LRs pizza - I love it. But remember my taste will be 100% different from yours! Of note with this being a brand spanking new Pizzeria, the crew spoke with heavy Italian accents! Very impressive as I just didn't want Johnny from the local high school making my pizza! LMAO! One of the best Neopolitan pizza in vancouver hands down. Crust was made to perfection. Perfect thin crust but held the toppings well. Real ingredients and not store bought ones. Edges of the pizza slighty burnt and crisp making it good to the last bite. Stone oven and a mini one at its side for small orders or reheats. Very rustic and had a homey feel..,like when eating in naples. The chefs spoke italian which is a good sign. They even have text messaging service To let you know when your pizza is ready - for those Ordering a whole pie. They will make you a new one if you order a whole. I had the calabaria. Fast and friendly service. I took away 1 star bec of 3 things. First, the display case was too wide open underneath...meaning a fly or bugs could easily get in there. 2, they offered a pizza with strawberries and olives on it. 3. No one was sanitizing the dining tables for dine in. The place was suoer busy for take outs. But overall, amazing pizza at an affordable Price. Not too oily but made perfectly. I've been here more frequently in the last six months as I've uncovered the best way to enjoy this pizza. They have a large selection of slices so I either get it heated and eat it there (there are a couple of tables and nearby spots to sit), or I get an assortment of slices not headed up. They heat up nicely at home and this way you can have a variety. Eight slices is the best bang for the buck. If anything, I feel like it's improved over time. It can be busy, there could be a bit more consistency and lastly the slices are often of varying sizes. Perhaps they could invest in some of those pizza gadgets that results in mostly equal marking of eight slices to a pie. Some pieces are sometimes half the size of the ones next to them! I've never complained or said anything and it always seems to work out. They have a good and constantly changing selection - no labels/signs so you have to guess or ask (the person doesn't always know) what's on the pizzas by the slice. Be careful if you have allergies as there seems to be a lot of potential for cross contamination. I've also specifically asked for slices with "no mushroom", only to find mushroom on one or more slices. Overall, very tasty crust, sauce, seasonings and toppings. Have only tried the Caesar salad other than pizza. It was large and plentiful, shaved parm, no bacon, dressing on the side, good quality (for the most part) romaine but soggy sad croutons. read more

Pizza is good but I placed an order online through their website and more than two hours later they still have not delivered the order. I understand the Friday night rush hour but after an hour goes by I call in to check on the order and they said it was gonna take another 45 mins. I said Ok and waited another 45 mins. More than an hour goes by and still no delivery. I called again to cancel the order and ask for my money back and the manager tells me they can't do that. Only to provide a "credit" to my account. After an hour of waiting for delivery directly from the restaurant, I called and the person who answered snapped at me saying they were extremely busy and too bad. I asked for an apology and he told me no and I could cancel the order or wait another 25 min. We had 2 very hungry kids so decided to wait. When the pizza finally came another 35 min later, it was not cooked at all and absolutely disgusting. We ordered a jalapeño, chicken and cheese pizza tonight for supper. I received a call saying that the order was ready and I came down 10 minutes later to pick up. They did not have heat lamps and my $26 pizza was stone cold. I explained to the staff that it was cold and they put it back in the oven to heat up. I was surprised to see that once the pizza is done and the customer is waiting for it to be done they toss it in a box to get cold. I went to la Ruota last night. It was pretty busy, however I wish there they would let you know before hand how long it would roughly take. My pickup order took 1.5 hours, a lady I was talking to said her order took 2 hours. I was waiting outside for over an hour. Also staff don't seem to worried about wearing masks. I'm gonna give 4 stars though cause the pizza is very tasty. Just do your self a favour and don't leave the house too early for a pickup. read more

Average pizza with terrible service. I called in advance and ordered several pizzas. They said it would be ready in 30 min so I showed up 30 min later. It turned out that not only didn't have they have the pizzas ready, they hadn't started on them! If you want to order a pizza for delivery, wait two hours and then have to go to the store yourself to pick it up then order from La Ruota. If you want to do the above twice on two different occasions then order from La Ruota. Don't get me wrong, the pizza is good but the service will make you want to cry. I am a patient person, who always gives everyone the benefit of the doubt and never looses their cool. But this place makes me the opposite. We gave this place another chance and they let us down. Even more so, when I showed up 2 hours after ordering with no delivery our pizzas weren't even in the oven. Absolute shambles. This has happened today, and also back in December. This time, the manager spoke to me once and then refused to speak to me again. She wouldn't even look at me. Last time, she was also rude and prefers her less experienced staff to deal with the customers so she doesn't have to. I wasn't the only person in the store to be in the same position tonight. If you can't keep up with deliveries, turn your machines off. But instead you decide to put your young staff under huge stress to try look after upset customers. We spent $70 tonight and $70 last time, all for nothing but no delivery and cold pizzas on pick up with a rude manager on the side. I asked to be compensated in some way, but that didn't happen. Actually, she offered me a 50% voucher and I said I'd rather never have their pizza again, it's too much effort. My advice-Don't bother. read more

Pizza is great, but delivery time was beyond slow. It took just under 3 hours. We ordered at 5:50pm on a Friday on their online system and it arrived at 8:40pm. I tried calling starting at 1hour 20min after the order. Got through at 2h20min in and they said it should be soon but could not give me anything more specific. There was no acknowledgement that such a delay with no notice was not acceptable. I have kids and we had to feed them something else for dinner. A shame. The second time was no different, the clerk said his supervisor will called back which of course he never did... I found it odd that he was available to take the call.
