However; despite being asked how I wanted it cooked it came out just like my husband's, cremated. I have no idea what it would've tasted liked because all I got was greasy and crispy charcoal. They do serve mixed drinks, beer and wine, not a lot of choice on the wine though. Ambiance is surprisingly bright in the room we were seated in and definitely family friendly.

Unfortunately, after we left, my daughter realized she had accidentally left her birthday card on the table. The card contained $300 in birthday cash. We returned about an hour later, hoping it had been turned in. What was most disappointing was not only that the card was missing, but also the way we were treated when we returned. The manager was dismissive and referred to the card as being "of no value," which felt unhelpful and lacking in compassion. My daughter was left to look through the restaurant's trash herself, and no employee offered assistance. I understand that forgetting the card was ultimately my daughter's mistake, and we accept responsibility for that. However, kindness, empathy, and customer service cost nothing. Based on the circumstances, no other guests had been seated at our table before the restaurant closed for lunch, so it is very upsetting that the card was never found or turned in. We left feeling far more disappointed by the lack of care and respect than by the loss of the money itself. I hope Waters Restaurant takes this feedback seriously and reminds its staff that how they treat people during difficult moments matters. We also spoke to the police because of the circumstances and filed a report. Unfortunately, there are no cameras at this location.

But, closing before noon, it's not intended to compete with the local restaurant scene. Without lunch or dinner service it's more curiosity than business. The restaurant exists to offer an intimate breakfast/brunch experience to Ashton patrons and, perhaps, to local business professionals. It also still advertises a social experience left over from earlier years of Fort Worth's old money: High Tea. It's not clear how well it's experienced beyond it's signage. The space is sparsely staffed likely due to its being lightly visited. Whichever is cause or effect may be arguable. Friends asked about the bar as they'd heard great things about it once upon a time. It has a bar that's no longer advertised and, apparently, no longer used. A stay here deserves a visit to the restaurant, just because. Your mileage may vary, but my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it even as the desk staff were slow to realize someone actually wanted to be seated. As patrons just passing through, breakfast was all we needed and it was excellent. The fresh fruit was truly fresh. Pricing is in line with most hotels and, more and more, with inflation of standalone restaurants of lesser quality.
