I had a Virginia Pine (Pinus virginiana) in my living room that I had watered and feed for 17 years. I really loved that tree. However, much to my sorrow and chagrin, I took a three-month cruise of Antarctica forgetting to request someone to water it in my absence. When I returned it was pretty much gone. There was, try as I might, no means of resuscitation. So, with other travel planned, I decided to go artificial. But most I saw looked artificial, which look I couldn't tolerate. Then I tried The Plant Guy where I purchased a Mother-in-Law's Tongue (dracaena trifasciata) that I swear looks more real than real. The store is amazing with a good verity of real looking artificial decorative plants. They're pricey, but so well worth it. The one I bought came to $117.00, but compared the others I saw elsewhere, more than reasonable for its quality. read more

The owner of this place is complete joke a thief a liar and a crook .. I spent 65k with Matthew he isn't the best person to deal with .. the day they came to install the job wasn't finish and they didn't put the right material on planter (after rain each time major mark on my floor from rain )and some planter with no drainage system 7k each planter (he said I got a good deal) horrible quality after juts 3 months 80 percent of my bamboo fell off .. the planter with no drainage exploded .. I end up finishing the installation hiring people that don't know anything about this cause Matthew had to go... I was missing a planter at delivery I ordered one the same day and paid for it the same day .. One year later today he never shipped the planter he robbed me on it .. .. the planter that exploded he said he will change it ...guess what never heard from him after trying to reach out to him many time .. when I call him he is either busy with his team or he just doesn't answer what a horrible experience..his customer after he gets the money aren't customer anymore they are nothing If your in miami area don't go for this guy planter ..other Comoagny are much cheaper and nicer you just need to do your research Now I bought my planter from a new Comoagny and had to fix almost every single bamboo I probably bought 50k in bamboo from him waste of money My lawyer will go after him hard now not only for the planter that he didn't deliver but for all damages that I got after juts 2 months of install read more

We recently spent thousands of dollars with ThePlantGuy on live plants and pots for our home. We've had issues with the plants, and when we called for help we are immediately treated like a nuisance & frowned upon! Both Christine and Matt were totally rude and impertinent. We called for help and they chose to be condescending, aggressive and started telling us we aren't plant people (duh! That's why we hired your organization... how low!). Our lady palm is 90% dead and our fiddle leaf fig tree, has literally lost half of its leaves overnight. We followed very specific instructions on care and maintenance which came from them. We did what they told us to do & when we contacted them they frowned upon us in disgust like we are wrong for contacting them for assistance... When we initially reached out to them, they charged us $500 for a in home consultation; they recommend the appropriate plants & placement throughout our home. The trees are now however are in poor shape & dying for no reason. I do not recommend using this company. You are going to spend thousands of dollars for glorified, overpriced pots paired with inexpensive plants that's you're gonna be charged 5x retail for!! You can literally show up with pictures of front or backyard and matt will know what and where to place the plants. Then i came home and did a facetime with them to confirm measurements and complete order. Highly recommend this place. They contract with hotel chains, now you can get same products for your home. Expensive. Everything planted needed to be replaced within a fairly short time. The containers hadn't been prepared properly and the expensive plants developed root rot. Styrofoam peanuts were found in bottom instead of rocks for drainage. The new company found that peculiar. Owner made us uncomfortable. Seems nice at first and then quite child-like when questioned and presented with actual issues. After a highly inappropriate and hysterical rant about his irreproachable work ethic and passion we moved on. I am not accustomed to being scolded by people I pay. This might have been one of the most bizarre professional interactions of my life. read more

Let's support it from bad luck today SUV plows through Fort Lauderdale building A driver lost control of his SUV Monday evening and plowed through the side of a plant store in Fort Lauderdale, shattering the glass, cracking the concrete and leaving the building structurally unsafe. The accident happened about 6 p.m. at The Plant Boat, 1130 S. Federal Hwy. The northbound lanes of the busy road were shut as crews shored up the building and figured out how to get the white Ford Explorer out of the store, which was not open at the time of the accident. The road reopened just after 10:30 p.m. The driver, a man wearing a red shirt, jeans and flip flops, stood by and spoke to police. It was not clear what caused the crash. We are very happy with the plant and planter we bought here, but the customer service is horrible. We placed an order in January and the owner told us delivery time would be 10 business days. After 3 weeks we did not hear back and called ourselves, apparently they were having difficulty finding the size we needed but they were going to their plant supplier 3 days later and expected to find the plant then. Another 2 weeks passed with no update from the store. We then sent an email that unless they would deliver within a week, we would cancel the order. The owner replied that they had us scheduled for delivery on Friday morning, no apologies for the delay or lack of updating us on status of our order. When delivery day was there we ended up having to pick it up ourselves as he could not get it delivered on time. Again no apologies when we got to the store to pick up. The plant looks great, but we will never go back to this store. read more

I love this place, they create an amazing design for my Bussiners they took the time to understand my bussiners and they try to find the the right pot, colors and plant that will fit and match my curly hair salon bussiners. This guy is know around town as a plant mortician because his plants seem to die very quickly, and he doesn't guarantee his plants even if he plants them himself. The owner ridiculed my client openly, because she was asking a lot of questions and didn't know what she wanted. Isn't that why to come to a professional, for guidance? Not here. Buyer beware. Money is never the issue for me when doing business as long as I am made to feel that I matter and the project matters. Matthew is friendly and very knowledgeable. He came up with several, incredible design plans and his patience with all of my questions and changes is a true testament to his character. While I love my planter and plant, the owner stated that he would send his guy back with the lava rock and leaf shine and never did. I called after about 4 weeks to remind him and he was in his car. So I offered to email him a reminder which I did. A week later still hasn't heard back so I called again. He proceeded to tell me how busy he was with a "Trump" event and would send someone when possible. He actually had the audacity to tell me when this big job was over he could once again attend to the little people! I inquired further to try and get a firm date and he would not give one. I asked to clarify if I was looking at another week, month, 3 months???? And he got very rude with me and said he would call me when he had time. And that was the end of the conversation. I was very offended in the way I was treated. I spent approx. $1000.00 with him. Not huge, but not nothing either.....(oh, and I have these very annoying little black flying gnats that started when the plant was delivered) Update: within 30 minutes of my call I received an email stating that someone would be out the next day to rectify all issues. Much appreciated. Maybe he was just having a terrible day! Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, we've all been there. read more
