The sandwiches and deli items in the case looked so good that I'm already planning to come back for lunch next time I'm in town. Everything looked fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully put together. The staff was friendly, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the products. Their cheese is served on cheese & charcuterie boards at nearby Dundee Hills & Willamette Valley wineries. We were offered samples by the cheese maker's husband, who shared the story of their business, her journey from her early days at Cowgirl Creamy in Marin, to starting her own company, & advised us on their offerings. While tasting, we could see straight back into the cheese making facility, with people busy at work. It just doesn't get any closer to the source than that. We enjoyed each Briar Rose cheese we tried, but particularly the Butterbaby, a soft bloomy rind Guernsey cow's milk cheese, and their sweet, tangy, spreadable formage blanc. I wish they had been tasting their semi-soft cheese washed in Riesling and wrapped in Spruce bark, called Strapping Evelyn, but it wasn't available to sample the day we stopped by.
