This is just a beer bar, so beers and seltzers only. I went with the Crow and Wolf Ocean Blast seltzer; a blue coconut, mango, pineapple, and lime beverage. Insanely good and refreshing on a hot afternoon. My wife went a peach seltzer that was just as tasty. We sat in the backyard area, that offers plenty of seating, a few TVs, and a ordering window so you don't need to head to the inside bar to order more drinks. The out area has smoking and non-smoking sections and is dog friendly, but they must be leashed. For food, we went the tri-tip BBQ pizza and a soft pretzel. The pizza was delicious and the perfect size for two people. Huge chunks of tri-tip, spicy BBQ sauce, and very cheesy. I asked for jalapenos on the side for an extra kick of heat. Their goal is to give Fresno's young professionals a reason to stay in the area. They throw monthly mixers, special events, and fundraisers. I've been a member for several months now and have attended a few of the monthly mixers. Most if not all of the board of directors tend to be in attendance, and they serve as friendly faces to welcome you in, whether you're a first timer or a regular attendee. The mixers are in different locations around town each month, so some are easier to get to than others, but it helps to draw a different crowd and for members to go to the most accessible locations, so I appreciate that. It's also a nice excuse to try out a new bar or restaurant once in awhile! I've met some really driven and interesting people at the mixers. I've had a few instances of speed-dating style networkers dropping in too, which doesn't really feel in the spirit of what they're trying to achieve, but overall people are quite receptive. The special events they run have looked really interesting, though I haven't managed to make it to one yet - including a paint night and an evening at the philharmonic orchestra. They also run the Fresno Downtown Academy which looks like a great opportunity - there's information about that on their website.

Those that came just knew how to behave and what to wear. The air-conditioner runs constantly, the fans in the bar are going constantly and the back and front doors are open wide. It gets to cold to be comfortable in The Brig and it's because the bar tenders are too hot. Vaping goes on and nothing is done about it. Men go into the Ladies room do whatever in there and excape out the back door. I have personally experienced this twice. The service is slow and poor, at best. Tables are cleared but not wiped down. The bar now is messy and unorganized. Some of the help don't know how to mop up a spilled drink. The help dresses scantily and shows more that they need to. This might be the problem. The clientele has change and it's not the regulars that come in there any more. The clientele is moving to be a rougher, more dangerous group. Karaoke was great this last Sunday night (March 1, 2026). A few of the old crowd was there and it wasn't the dive bar we had on Saturday night (Feb 28, 2026). I will continue to go to the Brig as long as I am with my DJ. But someone in control needs to look at some of this.

Mel made sure my husband (the groom) and myself (the bride) had drinks if we needed them, grabbed a small plate of appetizers for us to munch on so we weren't starving and walked us through all the steps of our amazing wedding. The concept he explained to me is the following. Think of it as a gym membership but for art. You pay a monthly fee, come up with what you want to learn and bring your materials. There are great teachers to guide you and certify you at just about anything. They have a glass blowing, clay, woodwork and even a 3D printer. It was impressive that everyone we met there somehow chips in to help with the training of your art production of choice and once you are certified, you are able to use the machines with minimal supervision. A stellar idea and my wife will be checking out their classes soon
