New chef is wonderful and after a second visit in two weeks, we're planning on checking out brunch, too. Hubby highly recommends the prime rib sandwich, he ordered it both visits. You can recommend the Thai shrimp tacos, and the roasted vegetable bowl with shrimp added. We both LOVE the lamb arancini with blistered tomatoes, the flavors are amazing! We had the Burrata for an app. It was amazing. Fresh onions and tomaties on perfectly toasted bread, and the cheese, oh man was it good! Entree was the waygu burger with bacon and chesse for me. I have no idea how they made a medium burger that crispy on the outside. It tasted like a steak and burger rolled into one. We also had the tuna tacos. The tuna is raw like sushi/poke and is really good. No fishy flavor at all, as the wasabi and cilantro stood out. Also had the shrimp corn chowder bowl as it was a cold day outside. The bowl is shallow and wont fill you up, so i'd def consider it a side dish, but man was it good. Had tons of shrimp, corn, potatoes, bacon, etc. Finished with the key lime stacker that tasted like cheese cake stacked on keylime pie stacked on sponge cake. It was delicious. The best part by far though was the sidewinder fries. Perfectly crispy and just the right thickness. Like a steak fry meats curly fry right at the perfect intersection between them. read more

I eat supper here ~once a week and the atmoshere is really nice. The food is very good but the service is hit or miss. Wednesday night steak burgers and Friday night fish & chips are two of my favorites. Expect to drop $50 - $60 for two people per visit. I'm hopeful that service will improve when more people are available/willing to work. read more

We arrived on Saturday evening 6pm and was not greeted by the hostess. We treated her told her how many in our party and was sat. No high chairs were offered we had to ask. Our waitress was a bit of an disaster and should really use a tray to serve so I didn't have to help her serve drinks. Food was fine. The brussel sprouts tasted more burnt than "fried", the pretzel was fine more bread than pretzel flavor. The most baffling was watching the table of 6 next to us being brought their entrees 1 by 1 with at least a 4 min in between each entree being brought!! So they all sat with food until the last person was served. That's roughly 15 min they all had to wait to begin eating. My thoughts of it being a modern country club were wrong (my fault) it's literally a sports bar on the golf course. The views are great though. read more

Our family went up to the restaurant for dinner and it was extremely difficult to get waited on. The food was overpriced and not as good as the pictures make it out to be. The only part we thoroughly enjoyed were the views from the balcony. Expensive drinks, small food portions, and rude service, especially the female bartenders at the lower level bar. We won't be back until this place gets a facelift and overhaul! Take it back to the basics! Could be so much better! read more

Glad to have a higher end restaurant in Midway / Gulf Breeze. We went in for lunch enjoyed the service, menu and view. We had the charcuterie plate, Bayley Hazen Blue Salad, Kale Caesar with grilled chicken and Shrimp and Corn Chowder with wine and cocktails. Zero complaints about any of the dishes. I would like to start by saying our family has always loved going to eat at the Pointe in Gulf Breeze but our recent experience has drastically changed my mind. My son is having a small beach wedding at the end of September and we wanted to find a place for everyone to eat dinner afterwards and thought the beautiful location and variety of food at the Pointe would make a perfect location. I called and spoke with Brittany Bandy and told her we wanted to make a dinner reservation for 36 people. I told her we were not interested in having a reception there as we already have another event space booked and only wanted to eat dinner. Each person would be ordering and paying for their own meal. If possible we would like to bring the cake to have after dinner but it was not completely necessary if we weren't allowed. Brittany said she would email me information and sent me wedding reception information with packages starting at $2500. I called back and again and after several attempts finally reached Brittany and explained that we only wanted to make a dinner reservation for 36 but are not interested in all the extras and would not bring a cake if that was the issue. Brittany then told me if we didn't bring a cake then it should not be a problem but she would email confirmation of the reservation. I never received confirmation so after several more attempts I finally got in touch with Brittany again and she told me they had other large parties wanting reservations in September so she had to make sure no one wanted to schedule a wedding reception before she could confirm our reservation. Our first email contacts began in July and we still do not have confirmation for a dinner reservation. I am utterly disappointed in the level of customer service and feel that if they could not accommodate a reservation for a large dinner party then they should say that instead of asking us to wait until the last minute and possibly have nowhere to take everyone for dinner. Maybe it's my fault and I should've never mentioned the wedding but repeatedly said we only wanted a dinner reservation where everyone ordered and paid for their own meals, no decorations or any other extra staff necessary and would not bring our cake if it meant paying a $2500 event fee. Great service speaks in volumes, however, it was not there or available tonight at 5:45 when we arrived. We got there and sat down on a table above the sports bar (in between the two bars). Waited 5 minutes for someone to notice us. Since that didn't happen, I went to the bar and got menus and was told someone will wait on us soon. 15 minutes passes (watched several staff members (bar-back/ bus boys/ kitchen staff which is fine but shows how not busy they were if they all had time for breaks) pass by us to get to the soda fountain machines to get refills for their personal drinks) before a waitress finally came up to the bar chatting and realized me starring at her at the bar before finally coming up to us to get our drink orders. But we were obviously ready for our orders. The food took about 25 minutes to get which again is fine. The girl who served our food by wasn't our waitress. We asked for ketchup and mustard and I needed silverware for my NY Strip steak. She got us the ketchup and mustard right away since it was right by the soda machine. I waited 5 minutes and never got silverware so I had to go to the bartender again and ask for some. He was able to assist me and apologized for the wait. I had to cut my steak with a butter knife but I was happy to finally join my family by starting to eat with them, as they were halfway done at this point. And I'm sure the steak would have been better if it was still hot. The bartender later came to check on us and we needed refills...still no sign of our waitress. After we got done eating, I had to go back to the bar to ask for our check and a to go box (at this time I felt like I was at a bowling alley snack bar going back and forth). Then I had to go back to the bar again to run my card to pay for my meal, which our waitress, who was doing absolutely nothing behind the bar, finally assisted in running my card. My husband didn't even want to leave a tip at all. But I convinced him to leave a $10 tip with a note on the receipt "For the bartender who wasn't our waitress". To end on a high note, I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 since the fries are delicious there. Please work on your wait staff and their customer service and lack of ability to want to work, it was not that busy! I grew up waitressing in my family's restaurant and between my husband and I's 45 years together in the military, which we both work in customer service positions, this was truly unacceptable. Had lunch at The Point Monday. It was my first visit so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard good things about the food and service and I was not disappointed. The weather outside may have been frightful but inside it was delightful. I had the Island grouper tacos and they were so good.
