What I love about this type of dance studio is that it is a place for freedom of expression and confidence building. Even though it may be out of many peoples, comfort, zones, Pole dance classes have the power to empower. The studio is small with one studio/pole dance room so only one class goes on at a time. Just passed the studio, there is an area with cubbies to store your belongings, a small bathroom, and a small lounge area with seating. I tend to be hard to please when it comes to pole dance classes. Rockstar studio caught my attention after seeing one of their teachers on Instagram. I have attended several other studios in the Denver area and none have been as good as this spot. Every class I have taken in this studio has been great. Knowledgeable teachers, friendly, welcoming students and an amazing staff! They have a great mix of technical classes where you can learn pole tricks as well as "flow" classes where you can learn dance choreography and most of them have that "sensual" vibe that a pole class SHOULD have and so many places lack! I never felt so empowered and in tuned with my body as I did during our party. The studio was large enough to host our party of 9 and the vibes were nothing but positivity. Our instructor was nothing but encouraging and patient. She took us through a nice warm up to basic moves to loosen us up. The space feels so serene between the "jungle wall" of the pole room, well-equipped locker room, and plants everywhere. The only class I've taken (a few times) is Pole 4 with Estee. I've had her as an instructor at a few other pole studios, so it was nice to have some level of familiarity with her teaching style. The weird details I like about Sankalpa are the microphone headset worn by the instructor and the water refill station next to the front desk. I've made a few friends at the studio who come here more often than I do. It's a little far of a drive for me (plus traffic) because of where I live, but if you can, definitely check out their variety of yoga, dance, and pole classes. Generally explore all the spots around Denver to experience different teaching styles and communities. Hooray for fitness!

It kind of looks like a high school gym with so many circus apparatuses. I took some intro classes with Oksana, when she was there, and Logan. Both are amazing! I have taken a private class with Logan with friends and he was so great. He takes time and can be hands-on. He definitely gives you a challenge, but it feels good when you accomplish it! Everyone here seems so nice and I will continue to pop in for classes.

The restroom is accessible through either of those rooms and they let you walk through the rooms (during classes if needed) to get to the restroom. The mirror in the studio I went to (class was Melt with Amy) was huge and helpful. There was plenty of space in the class for all the students signed up to space out. I was able to sign up in advance using Classpass (thanks for the accessible booking option for travelers!) Melt is like a floorwork choreo class and it was fun and slinky and ooey gooey.
