Delicious food! We had a late dinner after spending all day at the universal park. It was super delicious! Our kids had the buffalo chicken wings and split the short rib ragout and a Caesar salad. They loved the wings and thoroughly enjoyed the ragout. The Caesar salad was very crispy and fresh. They said it was very tasty!! My wife and I had the pumpkin and sweet potato bisque and shared a fall market Salad. The soup is a must try and the fall market salad is a must try as well! Fresh greens with candied nuts and a sweet vinegar dressing. Both were super yummy! For dessert we had the Oktoberfest cookie skillet which was a soft baked cookie. With pretzel inside served with a caramel sauce and topped with ice cream. It is to die for!! My kids and wife said we didn't need dessert so I ordered it. As soon as it arrived we all tried a little bit. I expected them to put their spoons down since they did not want dessert. I was looking forward to having it all to myself. I have never seen three spoons move so fast as they attacked the dessert! It was incredible! The service was wonderful! Our server was Chris and he was spot on! Very attentive! Stayed at the Hard rock this past weekend so we definitely had to check out the onsite dining. The kitchen was delicious!!! Their calamari was hands down the best I've ever had. Light and crispy. Located in the Hard Rock Hotel is The Kitchen. My parents and I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in December 2024, and dined here several times for both dinner and for breakfast. We dined here mainly out of convenience as the food wasn't anything standout in our opinion; though they do make a decent dirty vodka martini. Very solid service no matter the day part and the restaurant was comfortable and clean. If you are staying on property, it's worth visiting but I couldn't see coming here if not staying at this property. read more

If this place was about half the price I would probably rate it 5 stars. It's resort pricing, so I guess it shouldn't be surprising, but I would expect the food to reflect the pricing. I actually really like the mac and cheese entree--the cheese is delicious and I like the crunchiness of the bread crumbs. But it's a pretty straightforward comfort food meal for $21 dollars. My wife got the margherita flatbread and I didn't try it because it looked extremely unappetizing. The Velvet Bar upstairs actually has better quality food options, if it's after 5pm. The good news is the staff here are great, and you can get parking validated if you eat here (which they also do at the Velvet Bar when you spend over $40). It's a cool spot with a lot of potential and located at a great hotel. read more

My friend and I came in for magical dining as we were trying to get another restaurant down our list. We had reservations for 730 but I ran late. They told her they couldn't hold the reservation but when I got there around 9 the place was a little empty. We sat down and went through the menu. I started with a cocktail. Did the fun times in babylon. It was good in the beginning but I think with various flavors at dinner it became tart to me. For the apps we did the rockin rolls and orzo soup. Entrees we did the 5 oz filet and the airline chicken. Dessert was the crème brûlée and the pistachio crème. Both of the apps were delicious. I loved the cheesy rolls, they remind me of Brazilian cheese bread. Loved dipping it in tomato sauce, the orzo soup was comforting. The chicken and filet were both good. The pistachio crème tasted more like a keylime crème to me. I thought the crème brulee was a better dessert. Our waitress Lori was pretty awesome. Parking was validated with dinner. read more

I have never been to one of the Universal hotels and this was very nice! I want to come back already. The drink was made by the bartender and because they had a full bar it was easy to just say what I liked and have something from the menu put together. The rock n rolls were not something I would order again. They were super stretchy and greasy and I wasnt a fan. I got to try some of my friends Brocolini and it was well seasoned and cooked well. I would immediately go back for the braised short rib pasta. It was on the more affordable side and very filling. I was super pleased with how the entire dish was cooked. The beignets were a smidge doughy for my liking and the bourbon caramel wasn't good I liked just plain caramel sauce. Overall I would be back and try another appetizer/dessert, but I would definitely eat the pasta again and again. read more

The portions were large; come with an appetite or be ready to share! The bar is set in a nice purple neon glow with giant copper kitchen lights overhead. There was a shirt wait for 25 minutes but we were called after only fifteen! Stopped by before HHN to enjoy the Magical Dining menu. The portions were very generous and my husband and I were struggling with our desserts because we were already so full. I wish the elote bisque would be permanently on the menu. It was absolutely divine and I'm already trying to find a dupe recipe to make it at home. My husband got the Caesar and it was massive! For my main I for the mushroom ravioli and it was such a big portion and so filling and delicious. My husband got the burger and thought it was cooked perfectly. For dessert he got the creme brulee and I got one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. We could have easily split one of the desserts, but both were amazing! Nothing special like you'd expect at this price point. Something southern flaky, with layers and butter or unique twist. Would've been nice to see options like other brunches buffets at this price point. Brown gravy, sausage white gravy, and a pepper white maybe. We had an awesome breakfast buffet (twice!) at The Kitchen during a recent stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. The spread is quite varied, with eggs, French toast, pancakes, grits, biscuits and gravy, omelets, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, and tons of fresh fruit, plus more. I came here for a reservation with the Universal Orlando Run Club and I was absolutely thrilled with the service and quality of food. We came for an early seating and the employees were welcoming, the area was very clean. I absolutely loved the touch of printing "Welcome Run Club", it made me feel even more special as a consumer. I've been a regular for a few years now. If you ask me what my favorite restaurant is, I will always say "The Kitchen" without hesitation. Not only the staff service is excellent, but the food quality and presentation is great. They change items on their menu 1-2 a year, which helps not make the experience monotone for us regulars. I love the old school rock and roll atmosphere. I highly recommend the Ragout pasta, the Joyce Farms chicken and The Kitchen Burger. They also have a spectacular wine and dessert selection! We came here for magical dining where we were able to get a 3 course meal for $40. We do this every year as a way to try out different restaurants. I got the elote corn soup as my appetizer and at first taste it was pretty good. I think what threw me off was the temperature and the way the soup looked. I probably would not get again. My mushroom ravioli was delicious and the sauce was creamy and flavorful. For dessert I got the crème brûlée and it was fantastic ! The fruit on top was a little too sour for me but the flavor was amazing. My partner got the burger and he enjoyed it and the wings as well. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Excellent 10/10 The rest of the sides and main courses were served family style. Main dishes were: scallops,duck, and filet mignon. Favorite was the scallops. 2 scallops per person. Buttery served with creamy sauce. I really enjoyed the duck paired with a creamy beet sauce. One small duck slice per person. The filet was also a small cut. I've been going to Universal for quite some time now. I've been told to check out The Kitchen, I've just never had the time cause I get busy with the parks. This time however was different cause a friend had made a reservation for our group of 10. Upon entering, the restaurant caught my eye with its clean and open atmosphere. Our server was very attentive with getting us our drinks. Next up is the food....man was our food sooooo good. I ended up getting the Tomato & Bell Pepper Bisque, Smoked chicken wings and braised short rib ragout. The food was stellar and I'm craving it just writing this review. The bisque had a very unique flavor and was well balanced. The short rib ragout was so tasty with just the right amount of sauce and short rib. The only downside are the prices which were a little high, but then again you are eating at one of the premier Universal hotel restaurants next to a theme park so its expected. All the employees working their seemed to hate their life, which made it an overall negative experience. A smile and a hello cost nothing, and when I'm paying around $50 a person I'd at least expect this. Buffet food was what you'd expect and made to order food was better, but again, the employees almost seemed angry that they were asked to make something for us. Inversely, on the same vacation we visited a similar buffet style restaurant while staying on a Disney Resort and it was a night and day difference. We have a few criteria for giving out 5 stars at restaurants. First - we have to have something that surprises us. Something unexpected. The appetizer that was suggested was the roasted butternut squash stuffed with a spinach and cheese mix. It was so good! Something we would never have tried had it not been for our server. The decor had a ton of interesting different musical feats to see and the wait staff was pretty nice and mildly attentive despite not having many people in the restaurant at the time. My husband and I got the classic eggs benedict with the hash browns to share and added a side of the cheddar cheese grits. The eggs benedict were good but kind of pricey for the portion size. The grits came with plenty for both of us but needed a decent amount of butter, salt, and pepper to make it taste good enough. This place is convenient if you're staying at the hotel but I don't think I would come here very often even when we were staying at the hard rock hotel. Really solid hotel restaurant. We just popped in at the end of a long day at the parks. Had the bourbon old fashioned wings, which were softer and juicier than "standard" wings, the short rib ragout, fried chicken and a NY strip. I was pleasantly surprised by everything. Especially the strip, which was steakhouse quality, it actually left me thinking they may share the same purveyor of Palm, in the same building. The fried chicken was "elevated" and not a standard old school southern fried chicken. Staff was helpful and had opinions on the menu, which I appreciate. Oftentimes a hotel restaurant just does what's needed to get you a plate of food. The Kitchen is beyond this level and I will definitely be back the next time we stay at Hard Rock. We were at Universal for three days and ate breakfast here twice! We stayed at the Portofino Hotel but walked up along the water to the Hard Rock to try out breakfast on our second day at the park. It was well worth the short walk! Afterwards we hopped the boat to the park. Breakfast was awesome, with a buffet, omelet bar, and pancake/french toast bar. The waiter said there were a few things on the menu that you couldnt get on the buffet but it was perfect. I got the Elvis French toast both days, thick bread with peanut butter and bananas! Delicious. The omelet bar had all the options you would expect and were great. The cooks and the wait staff were all excellent. All of the food was prepared great. My husband and I recently visited The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel. We were literally just going in to have a diet soda and to learn more about their food challenge that we had heard about. The hostess Shana sat us at our seat. She was incredibly friendly and hospitable. We told her how much we love sweets and she brought over the display tray to tell us more about the delicious desserts that they offered. They even had their 7 layer dessert "The Kitchen Sink" available to see. Lori was our server who was incredibly attentive and super sweet. We had told her that we were literally just stopping by to have some sodas and talk about the food challenge. She gave us more information, but unfortunately the time we were there was not the time that they have the challenge available. She was super informative about it. As a side note...most waitresses you would think might be "off put" by only ordering sodas, but she was such a rockstar and so freaken awesome. She checked on us often, gave us refills, chatted about food places we had been to and just wanted to make sure we were happy. Upon bringing us the check for our sodas, my husband and I decided that we would just order The Kitchen Sink dessert to see what it was all about...after drinking our diet sodas for about 30 minutes we couldn't leave without trying it. She brought over the massive tower that consisted of 7 different flavors of cake/pie. Patrick the chef that day did an amazing job with flavors! It consisted of the following layers: Brownie, Peanut Butter Crunch, Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Pecan Pie, Vanilla Cheesecake, Devils Food Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Chiffon. It was encased in a chocolate butter cream frosting topped with Caramel and Chocolate Sauce and a side of Vanilla Ice cream. It was such a unique and delicious dessert and experience. It was almost as if you were getting a sampler platter to try all the different types of cakes they had which was pretty cool. The cheesecake layer was super creamy, the cake layers were all super fluffy and moist, the pecan pie had nice crunch to it, the cookie and brownie layers tasted as if you were eating a giant brownie or cookie. The peanut butter had good delicious pb flavor, but did lack a crunch we were hoping for. Honestly this entire creation was just so fun and such an experience! We devoured the ENTIRE THING and the ice cream!!! Dawn the Manager came to check on us and also to see how we enjoyed the dessert, plus was curious if there would be any left.... We had such an incredible time there. Everyone was super helpful, friendly and wanted to provide the best service out there. We talked food recommendations with Dawn, Lori and Shana and we can't thank you all enough for just being awesome people!! Listen. Don't go off of the star ratings for this place. Try it out. Service, awesome. Food, yummy. Ambiance...well this could go either way. Since it's a hotel in Universal you will get a mix of people flowing in, including people in flip flops and shorts. But to me it's got more of an upscale intention. Either way, you can get some pretty good food here. Not too many vegetarian options but the vegan bolognese was good and I finished the bowl lol. But it's my birthday and I actually showed up for the kitchen sink cake slice. The menu says: Brownie, peanut butter cream, chocolate chunk cookie, pecan pie, vanilla cheesecake, devil's food chocolate cake, vanilla chiffon, chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. I think the cheesecake was my favorite layer. If you're like me and have an insane sweet tooth and like doing slightly ridiculous things, you should check this out! My server was amazing, honestly the only reason I would consider coming back. But one of the hostesses (Shana) was extremely rude and unprofessional. I've never been so embarrassed at a restaurant. I booked our reservation because it's my partners birthday weekend and he absolutely loves their French toast. On our way out we made it to the front of the hotel where the restaurant is located and realized we had not had our parking validated ($50+ parking btw). We walked back downstairs and when we asked the host who had checked us in earlier about parking validation she loudly said in front of patrons behind us that it's only available if we spent over $40.. mind you the kind girl next to her said yea they were just here(we spent $76). So then this older female hostess then has me pull out my receipt and after showing it to her she says we can only "walk around for an hour" with an attitude. Which we were just leaving I don't understand why she even mentioned that. It turned such a lovely birthday breakfast into a bad taste in our mouths. We did the magical dinning at the Kitchen. The restaurant is nice with lots of cool memorabilia to check out, but still pretty casual. Our drinks were delicious, especially my aperol spritz! My husband really enjoyed his Braised Short Rib Ragout. My chicken was cooked well and was flavorful. The scalloped potatoes had a nice taste to them, but were a bit cold and not "fresh". They had an all you can eat buffet and with that you get unlimited orange juice( fresh squeezed) and coffee. The hubby got eggs Benedict with the buffet and he said it was really good. He also got the Elvis Presley French toast. Looked really good and was sweet . They cooked to order as well , so I watched them make the French toast...2 baguettes, peanut butter, sliced bananas, and then caramel was drizzled and one more powdered sugar. The kids and I got just the regular buffet but you can have your eggs cooked as you want it and also omelettes were available. They had all kinds of cereal , bread, fruit, and pastries. Only could eat here once bc it was a little pricey. $27 per person / $13 for 3-9 years old It's definitely worth it if you come hungry. read more
