It's been mentioned in several reviews that the exterior facade doesn't do the interior beauty justace, that is very true. I was able to finally able to take my wife out on our very first real date and I could not have been more pleased with the welcoming feelings shared, the food that I believe is nicely priced considering they have actually Chefs not simply cooks. Most of all I haven't had the kind of service like I had at the Pompano in a very long time, that kind of service that I wanted to give that extra tip. Greeting staff and Service was five star, Food likely the only Five stars I personally would give in the area ( you have got to try the bone marrow) . Wow! Lives up to the accolades! Unassuming from the exterior, VERY unassuming, but gorgeous inside. Very modern mixed with old school steakhouse decor and vibe. I ordered the ribeye and it was cooked PERFECTLY! Best restaurant steak I've had and I eat at some pretty good steak joints. Side are extra and the broccolini was tasty. The Yukon mash potatoes have an amazing flavor but my only issue was that they were a bit thin. Speaking of thin, the drinks were poured exactly, precisely to the mark. Zero over pour. That's not cool. Patrons want to feel welcome and indulged Take note. The dessert I ordered, a butterscotch bread pudding was so delicious that I ate the entire mountain of dessert and didn't feel the least bit bad about it. Nice staff well dressed and professional. This was my first visit. Don't let the external facade fool you. The food and drink inside are excellent! We came for Prime Rib night -Tuesday. Great cuts cooked to the ideal medium rare. Table service was very good and the bartender knows his business well - a number of old fashioneds and an espresso martini were enjoyed by all. They have a pretty solid selection of high end bourbons. As far as I am concerned, this is the nicest restaurant in the Port Arthur area. It's a little pricey but certainly worth it. Great deserts, I had the crème brûlée and I very much recommend you do too. I hope to return again soon! read more

We decided to make reservations at the Pompano located in Port Neches Tx to have a romantic Valentine's dinner with my wonderful husband. We arrived around 4pm. The place is absolutely gorgeous. It's very elegant and spacious. The tables we're beautifully decorated with roses. We decided to sit at the bar for a while since we had arrived little early. The bar was fully stocked and the bartender was really nice and knowledge about the selection of liquor on hand. We finally decided too head to our table so we look over the special Valentine's menu. For starters we began our meal with the Kung Fu Ribs which were absolutely delicious.For our entrees my husband ordered the 14oz Prime Ribeye with the Caesar Salad, Twice Baked Potato. I decided to try the 8oz Fresh caught Seabass, with the Wedge Salad and the twice baked potato. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. Great atmosphere! The manager was extremely accommodating, I'll explain that in a second. Bret the bartender was amazing and covered for our waitresses shortcomings very gracefully. Most of the food was spot on and looked beautiful and it all had great flavor. The pompano pasta was really good. My only suggestion is to not serve the meat diced. Mine was diced so finely that I had a hard time actually tasting the prime rib and chicken. The ribeye had great flavor but unfortunately it was cooked medium well even though it was ordered rare to medium rare. The bread pudding was probably one of the best I've ever tasted! But the key lime pie was frozen. The waitress we had does not know how to serve in a fine dining establishment. When I'm paying $300 for a meal I expect a little elevated service. I've literally had better service at Waffle House and Chilis. She would disappear for twenty minutes at a time while we sat there waiting for drinks. However, we were patient and didn't say anything. When this really became a problem was when she served the dinner and walked off for over twenty minutes. Normally in fine dining, the waitress comes back to the table within 3-5 minutes of serving to make sure the table is satisfied with the food quality. Had she done that we would have been able to send the steak back and got one made the way we ordered it. But when it became clear she was off on another adventure, my husband reluctantly ate it as he had just gotten off of a 13 hour shift and was starving (he normally skips lunch so dinner is the only time of day he eats). I had to literally get up after my brother in law sat there not eating his wagyu chicken fried steak after 15 minutes because we had no salt and pepper and he adds that to everything. That's when I found Bret the bartender, he was walking by as I wandered around aimlessly. When she finally showed back up with a huge smile and asking if everything was okay, my husband told her as a matter of fact no it wasn't. His steak was over cooked. And he showed her the middle which didn't have any pink at all. She literally said "well you ate half of it" and kind of chuckled. My husband told her yes, because he was hungry and it was obvious she wasn't coming back for at least another twenty minutes, but had she done her job, it could have been rectified immediately after him taking the first bite or two. He told her that due to her lack of customer service I had to get up and find someone else to bring us Salt and pepper since she served the food and walked off without even asking if we needed condiments. The manager came over and apologized and took the steak off the bill. We thanked him but asked him to put it back on since my husband did eat it. Bret pretty much became our waitress after my husband had to tell our actual waitress that she failed at her job that night miserably. He did great, watching the bar, coming by to check on things several times and he makes the best cherry coke old fashioned I've ever tasted! We ended up leaving Bret a separate cash tip for his excellence and even though the waitress was awful we left a 20% tip anyways because we were positive it was a tip share environment and we didn't feel the rest of the staff should have to pay for her mistakes. All in all it was a great experience but could have been better had the waitress been trained properly. But we will definitely be back and give them another shot since the manager and Bret went over and beyond to compensate for the poor service. read more

I've been going to the Pompano since I was a child and I have a lifetime's worth of warm memories there (it used to be a member club). It's now under new management and has changed a ton, but it's still serving amazing, high quality food. We recently went to the Pompano with a large party to celebrate my grandmother's life (we went there with her frequently growing up) and were met with top notch hospitality and a wonderful meal. Our server, Will, was very attentive and friendly and all of the food was absolutely delicious. I'm so glad we were able to make another fond family memory at the Pompano in honor of my very beloved grandmother. She would have been very pleased with the food and service. read more
